The concept of Barter System is wrong here, instead of paper, People used Ann (grains) as money So the importance of food was most in ancient times but now people use Paper (Notes) as a currency due to which led to unequal distribution of food ...
Overall, the person who had more food (rich) gives food to poor in exchange of basic things which poor produces and the poor get's the grains which he required
