Delicious! We are amateur bread makers and taking on this challenge was... well, a challenge. The volcano/well thing where the flour holds in the liquids fell apart, but we worked through it. After we added the butter we had to knead for a solid 40 mins before it didn't stick, but "trusting the process" worked. Made this for a class Day of the Dead celebration and even though we messed up a bit on the ingredients, it tasted amazing! The texture is soft and fluffy and you can really taste the orange! Thank you for a detailed and easy-to-follow video along with a delicious recipe!
I made these today and I agree with you these are the best. I had to make a flour adjustment because all I had was extra large eggs. But other than that , they taste fabulous. Thanks for the recipe 😊
Hi Claudia! I live in Florida, do I have to adjust the liquid to adjust for the humidity? I kneaded for almost 30 min and never got the consistency like yours 😅 I finished the process anyway, baked and it started to burn on the bottom but wasn't cooked on top, so I had to flip them to finish cooking and cover the bottoms with foil. So I baked for a total of 25 to 30 min. This was my work out for today 😅 I have to say, besides all my mishaps (Iam not very good at baking) the bread taste was AMAZING!!!! so soft, aromatic, and delicious. I guess, next time I will make smaller bread and lower the oven temperature, hoping that will fix my issues during baking.

On hell yeah, I'm so going to make this. I had my very first pan de muerto today and it's good but not great. I figured there's a better way to make it, especially one that's more dessert like than a bread that's made more for dipping in coffee and this looks like a dessert version that's soft and sweeter.
I love all your recipes. I really want to try this one but only have rapid rise yeast will it work for this recipe if I just skip the proofing of the yeast?

You will add too much liquid to the dough so I can figure out that it's best to use the zest and the orange extract to avoid getting a over wet mix
