Most of these tracks are fresh. You can't compare them to anything else in their discography. Really cool stuff going on. Im so glad A7X is back!

I would also argue the opposite to be honest. Some of these tracks feel like Avenged were trying to go back to that "Sounding the Seventh Trumpet" feeling albeit with a "fresh" perspective.
They've always built upon their previous work and the way they give us something new, yet familiar, is one of the things I love the most about this band.

Never stop using the brass, piano, strings or choirs in your songs. They always give me chills.
I can’t even begin to understand much less explain how this album made me feel. Parts of it made me relive past experiences, and parts showed me glimpses of the future. We love you A7X ❤❤

Although I’m a bigger fan of Avenged Sevenfold’s older works, I can admit that this may be one of the most brilliant songs they ever released in their entire career. This song makes me feel a way I can’t describe, especially the 0:40 second mark. I hope there’s more songs out there that sound like this one.

Lol! That happened to me too when I first listened to this new album. I've been an A7X fan since I was like 15..I'm 35 now. I go see them in concert in October for their Life is but a dream tour. It's gonna be wicked. Nobody is going to be wild live. I'm also hoping for So Far Away.

I heard negative stuff about this, I dont understand it, I was expecting some awful audio or something but this is just avenged sevenfold. They sound exactly how i expected them to. If you dont dig it you probably dont like these guys in general

References to Truman's Show "in case i don't see you again good afternoon, good evening and good night", and philosophy in the line "smart enough to know nothing at all" (Socrates), made it my favorite song of A7x.
I consider it a master piece that had the braveness to do something different adding unpredictable things, and putting weird effects in certain moments, without sounding "hard to hear", the expressiveness of the vocals it's like a theatre performance, using reverb to sound So far away from us (in certain moments), lyrics are just perfect referring a daily metaphor, and finally singing nor playing this song isn't close to be Almost easy 😉.
A wonderful song that really describes the life in the eyes of monotony, and how people are just slaves of the desires that came out of nowhere, filling our internal abyss with "normality", and refusing to accept that we lost humanity trying to be humans, sometimes feeling like we're being Buried alive in this catastrophe that we call "Society".

I’m obsessed with the entire song, but particularly the 3rd “plastic daisies” part 4:23 with full instrument backing 4:37 followed by the 4th iteration of that progression with no lyrics and the choral accompaniment. It has a quality that I can’t put into words. Like the progression doesn’t seem to follow progression trends of today, but just has a disco-era lineage. Just in chord progression, not in feel. A7X does more than enough to bring that progression into their world. If sped up slightly it almost sounds like something ELO could have written.
I started listening to them awhile ago but it was after 2017 and was never able to find concerts with them until now and I can’t wait

For a couple years (and I still do to be honest) I’ve had really bad Thanatophobia. For a long time death was all I thought about, so scared of it I didn’t live for anything, I almost felt like life wasn’t real. Felt like I was living my life as a spectator or something idk. This album, and the stage, and a couple other avenge sevenfold songs really helped me accept what life is y’know? This new album really resonated with me. I think it’s my new favorite album of all time because it helped me like no other piece of music has. Thank you. Fear of death and the unknown is something I doubt I’m ever going to get over, but this album rationalized it for me, and I’m so thankful for that.
Maybe is not the same as you, but I also live quite a paradoxical life. My fear of death is tremendous. Each time I board a car, bus or in rare occasion, plane, I fear that I might crash and die inside one of them, being a horrifying and painful death. Whenever I go outside I fear that someone might mug me, stab me and leave me bleeding on the side of the road.
On the other hand, all I want is to stop living, because I hate all that it means being a "human inserted in a society". I hate that I never managed to make anything out of my life. I hate that there are many things I want in life but no matter what I will never be able to get them. I hate the idea of studying, suffering and humiliating myself with any kind of topic solely so I can produce for The Man and my boss, so I dont end up in the streets eating trash.
Life is a miserable existence for someone like me. I got nothing going on and thus I want to cease to exist, but the idea of dying terrifies me. I cant do it. I simply cant do it because it terrifies me the idea of how painful it must be. I hate myself
Brooks is an absolute monster. Jimmy left everyone some serious shoes to fill but brooks has done as good a job as you could ask. His double bass skills are unreal

I always love how A7X perfectly combines melodic with hard-core headbanging, especially since reminds me of my favorite more metal grunge era bands that I have known, love, & been rocking out to since the late 80's, & can sadly no longer ever see live. Matty sounds better than ever & I'm super excited for upcoming tour in Camden (July 18th baby) & listen to Life Is but a Dream in it's entirety🤘. And you all better be headbanging & keep your damn phones off & out of sight. You dont go to a fucking concert, especially metal, looking through a damn 7inch screen, you go to experience the magic & fucking rock your face off.
