We tackled assembling the bike as a family project. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxzg0clhbtRf2gGxPkVETFKJJKGqdsorQu The package is heavy, but I have 2 teen boys that were able to move it. The written instructions were great- we didn't need to watch the videos, but it was good knowing that the option was there if we needed it. After we were able to get it set up, the boys each rode 3 miles and I rode 8 and the bike stayed quiet. The display is easy to reset, and you can put it on whichever setting you are using (time, distance, calories, etc). I will say that my butt is a little sore from the seat, but that could be because I haven't rode in a while. While it is comfortable for me, it was not comfortable with the seat position for my friend (could not move the seat back far enough and he slightly looked like a kid riding a tricycle that he had outgrown). He also said that the seat hurt his manly parts. We are going to look for a different seat that will be compatible with this bike for him.I did purchase the Wahoo Cadence sensor and strapped it to the crank of one of the pedals. This will sync with my Apple Watch, iPhone and will import data in to my Health app. Wahoo does have other sensors available other than cadence. I can also keep either my phone or my iPad on the display and they both feel pretty secure.

I love my Schwinn IC4, I have had it only a few weeks. Just wanted to pass along a few things I have noticed...
There have been a lot of complaints about the pedals coming loose and stripping on the IC4, most of these I believe are due to improper installation. As of the time I purchased my bike in Dec 2021, it appears that Schwinn made a few changes. The crank arms now appear to have a threaded steel insert pressed into them and do not have the threads cut directly into the aluminum crank arm, this will make them more durable and less likely someone will thread them in wrong and crossthread them since the steel threads in the inserts are harder than the threads in the soft aluminum of the crank arm.
The pedal shafts appear to be slightly redesigned as they are different than the ones on the stores display model. They also include blue lock time on the threads to keep them tight.
People still need to realize the left pedal has a left had thread and the right pedal had a right hand thread to tighten. The pedals are marked L for left and R for right just as the crankshaft are just match the up when installing. Schwinn now includes a yellow instruction card with the pedals explaining this as a reminder to people assembling the bike. Here is a good hint for everyone ... to tighten pedals you ALWAYS turn them towards the front wheek of the bike, regardless of being on the left or right side of the bike. A very small amount of grease on the starting threads of the pedal shafts will also help. Always thread the pedals in by hand to ensure they are not cross threaded, and tighten with a pedal wrench. Schwinn now also includes an actual pedal wrench with the bike instead of that "wonky" little wrench, Phillip screwdriver combo.
One more item of interest to both Schwinn and Eschelon users as there is an app for both IOS and Android out there called Qdomyos-Zwift or "QZ"for short. It is an independent app not associated with any manufacturer or Zwift (despite the name). The app is awesome and gives you a lot of info that the Schwinn IC4 cannot such as Power in Watts, a numerical Cadence measurement and resistance conversions for Peleton and Zwift. I have also heard a lot of reliability complaints also about Eschelons app being poor. QZ can be used as a direct replacement for Eschelons app not requiring the user to use Eschelon's app at all. It also supports Auto resistance. You no longer have to solely rely on Eschelons app!
Qz or Qdomyos-Zwift supports a wide range of bike brands and hardware via Bluetooth and Ant+ (on Android) connectivity. It also interfaces withe apps such as Peleton and Zwift and others. Details in your app stores and the Qdomyos-zwift group on Facebook. The app and its developer and user base is awesome!

Did use your link and got the IC4. Watched your various IC4 comparisons and looked at all the Costco offering videos too. Thank you for all the work you put into those. For me having the bike not tied to any one app was a plus. The build quality, all metrics in one compact view, and even the little details like weights/water bottle holder + free heart rate monitor was a plus. Just wanted exercise hardware I could get on and get going, no tweaking needed. My software of choice is the Peloton app which IMO is the best for now, most engaging and most likely to keep me going. Simpler is better in my case. If that changes in the near future, at least I won't have to buy all new hardware for it. Thanks again.

I don’t have the IC4 to compare but I do have the Connect Sport and it’s silent. We have it in a nook in our hallway and my husband rides it at 6am outside our bedrooms. The only sound that we hear is his shoes clipping in, which of course is going to happen on any bike when you clip in.

    • @MeganBarry1981

Brian, it could be depending on whether you like the additional features of the IC4. I have the connect sport and it really is a great bike-I love it. However, I agree with most of the points in this video. Personally I’d prefer to be able to move the handlebars horizontally (but I’m short). I think I might also prefer the water bottle holders on the IC4 to the ones on my sport. I also spent $80 on dual pedals (one side caged/one side clipped) and $100 on a scosche heart monitor and both of those things are included with an IC4. And depending on whether or not you use classes for your riding, that’s a consideration too. We use an old iPhone to run our Echelon app and see metrics. We use an old iPad to run Peloton classes. Both of these devices live on our bike and stay plugged in. With the IC4 you don’t need a second device to see your metrics so that could be a perk depending on whether or not you have two devices already to run your Echelon metrics and a class or you have to buy a second device. Maybe those things aren’t issues for you but good to know about as it would up the overall cost of an Echelon.
I didn’t want to spend $900 on a spin bike as I had no idea if I’d like spinning enough to justify that, but for me, now I think I’d like some of the features the IC4 offers.
