Such a beautiful song. I first heard it while on my way to work one night last July. I got caught in a bad thunderstorm (I'm not exaggerating when I say I could barely see more than 2 feet in front of my car from the downpour of rain), and while driving through the storm, I heard this song for the first time.
Hearing this beautiful, relaxing song while driving through that storm was- as cheesy as this may sound- a profound experience.
This song gave me a newfound respect for reggae, and has become one of my personal favorite songs.

I was introduced to stick figure by my brothers then girlfriend a few years ago " the best songs have a message" , last August in ocho rios sandals 8/18/18 after the rehearsal dinner before their wedding, I managed to bluetooth the massive speaker for music that was nearby, blasting this song, the staff even enjoyed it as it echoed over the resort from the balcony overlooking Montego bay, other guests were enjoying the song as well, the staff even asked me who it was because they couldn't help enjoying it, lol love you guys for giving us a vibrant reminder of the love you echo in your songs!

But study it. Study reggae, all the artists since the 1950s. It's always been about fighting unjustice, a cultural revolution of peace and it planted seeds long ago.
Reggae is in fact the root of all music. All music, including classical. It's roots go back thousands of years before the Bible.

Listen to it simply for the love of life and not towards any specific individual. Listening to reggae in general and really enjoying it seems to bring up compassion and connectivity for other people, all mankind really. Though I know where you're at with it. I have completely stopped listening to an artist or two for the same reason. But they were her favorites, not mine. This song brings up a lot of love emotions in general. Just be in love with life and yourself, without the need for another. You don't have to push people away, just don't require that anyone be there for you to be happy and in that same blissful state of love you were in with her. You can give yourself permission to feel that good again all on your own.
