- For those of you who missed our previous episodes, here is a quick re-cap leading up to our new personal best time in the 1/4 mile after the Gearhead Fabrications stage 3 package. After just adding a few bolt ons and 200WHP(825whp/950crankhp), never in our wildest dreams did we think the Hellcat could go this fast on 93 oct. Most cars at this level need to run e-85 or race fuel(C16, etc...). This is now a full street trim daily driver that is capable of a 9 second pass, so impressive!

Big props for doing it in stages and keeping us up to date. 800+ Hp with minimal mods is awesome but it sounded like the auto was having a hard time on the 2-3 and 3-4 changes.
gravityfed101 I noticed that slipping too on the top end. Is it trying to lock the converter ? You added an external trans cooler, it looked like. Does that slippage continue if you stay in it ? Say in the flying mile ?
gravityfed101 I agree it sounds like it's struggling, not shifting at all as crisp like it did stock. It's definitely over the torque limit so hopefully it doesn't fail. I'm sure it would just need a better converter and it's good.
Reckec I wanna know too, you don't see many hellcats in the mile with that much power with in car views and what not.

Henrick Henry FYI ppl... the Redeye isn’t that much quicker than a regular hc...
I run 11.6s in my all motor scat pack and get off the line in 3.2, 0-60 with 1.62 60 ft.
That’s WITHOUT race fuel... that will be this weekend...

Not much but It's faster for sure. They showed one, just from the dealership run a 10.71 and 10.74. Thats all he could run that day.
Still on the TIRES it came with, just in case that issue comes up again.

Did he change the drive shaft just because the new one weighed less? If so, how much lighter was the new shaft do you think?
Yes lighter and stronger.. stock driveshafts normally weigh about 35 to 45 lbs. Our aluminum shafts are around 20 lbs and the carbon shafts are around 19 lbs. Much quicker throttle response.

It amazes me how modern engines are now so powerful. 825whp back in 5 or 10 years ago were very hard to get on almost an all stock motor with 93 oct in the tank. You literally need to change some of the internals or opt for a bigger charger to get that numbers.

Honestly, the new Charger is a damn good looking sedan. I passed a white hellcat Charger the other day and it was gorgeous, looked absolutely menacing.

Did you do the rear diff brace? I noticed the new driveshaft but didn't notice them doing the diff brace and I know from watching other videos those things tend of fail onces you start putting some power to it and launching at the track.
I wish my tuner and I had the balls to run that much boost on 93 octane. Hopefully I'll be on e85 next year

Gale Banks on the latest Smoking Tire Podcast said that horsepower loss on a chassis dyno is not a constant percentage and makes sense the way he explains it. He says that cars have a given hp loss that stays about the same regardless of power increases so your 250hp car makes 200whp [20% loss] doesn't suddenly suck up a 100whp loss if you increase the power to 500hp since its going through the same trans, diff, axles, tires. Its going to stay around that 50whp loss indefinitely.

Did you go with same spark plugs? Cooler plugs? Did you go with 180 degree thermostat?

How much were the upgrades and what is the reliability like? I’m really thinking about buying a Dodge Charger hellcat.
Other options I’m looking at are Audi rs3, bmw m4.
I currently own a 2012 mustang gt, 2014 evo x gsr, 2018 Dodge Charger rt/scat pack (just got totaled), and I have a 2019 raptor coming mid jan. I’m really looking for a complete badass street car. I really like the rs3 and m4 but it lacks major in the power department. And this of course lacks in handling.

I am sure that you and all of your buddies drive cars that are much quicker and faster, but for the majority of us, that car is quick and fast. I have a 2011 Challenger SRT8 that only runs 12.20's with 7.80's in the 1/8th. and I am impressed.

The trans shifts really hard when track mode is engaged. Even stock they shift pretty violent
Just curious how much did you spend to get the car in the 10s? The stage 3 kit looks expensive. Don't get me wrong, I love your car but wondering price difference between K&N & Stg 3.

5 sec low volume pre intro, followed by Epic big screen movie soundtrack intro about 1 min, and then the Real video starts. Same setup every time. But take 1 sec and match the output of 00:03 and 00:55

10.06 et wow, I would have pulled the gopros off the outside and got into the 9's I know that's a bit of an exaggeration but so close. Of course that means a cage and other safety gear for the track. Awesome car !! I want it in Black to match my SRT4 Neon. (If only it was that fast on pump gas or at all)

I was a manager for Jegs High Performance for 7 yrs. (Right out of the Army, before becoming a firefighter) and a true 9 second street car was what we all dreamed of having. Now it's practically a factory car with a few bolt-ons, a tuned setup and radial street slicks.

kgkustomz97ser my srt6 was doing tjay after a gear swap an tcu tune the car is actually bouncing off the limiter before shifts probably need to get a tcu tune
kgkustomz97ser - I thought it was the 1-2 shift at 8:17 . Bad hesitation or maybe loss of traction. DIdn’t do it in the 10.0 run though.

The thing I can't figure out I was seeing the steeda auto sports video where there using Racing gas ,Racing headers custom tuning , and some steeda Drag Racing components it's running in the high too low Tens . All Natural Aspirated , and these Car are Super Charged .
Add headers, exhaust, Racing gas and racing components and the Charger is into the 9's with ease.
