This is good opening soundtrack, but song "Happiness" from Yazumi Kana is unbeatable, it's still the best song for me.

what i like about this intro is that it shows off all of the bachelorettes (excepts kuruna because of story reasons) personalities and some of their liked gifts.
1st time listening: "Uh, okay, it's.. Fine, I guess."
3rd time listening: "It's pretty good actually, but Happiness is still better."
7th time listening: *SAA DAISUKI NA KOTO, YATTE IKI YO*
God, this really feels like a 2000s song and being sent back in time with it.
I prefer the original opening song "HAPPINESS" for the tone and feeling it conveys, but the opening animation as always is good. I hope it has a second song for the second intro as in the original.

I can finally play this game now! Never got the chance too even though I looked everywhere when I was 10-12 years old. But now the game has improved, so it's a win-win!
Yeah, Happiness is better representing the romance focused plot lines design but this one better representing the "Harem Factory" gameplay lol. The problem with Happiness OP is not the opening song themself, but the opening video is kinda pushing the main heroine as Sara. This new opening is more like your run to the mill dating sims VN opening, giving you an overview of the heroines in the game. After all the main selling point of RF3 imo is their superb NPC design, especially the wide range of heroines. It is a good opening, and more practical for promotion video but I think once you finish the game Happiness better represent the game because of the main plot.
Shara being pushed as THE ONE always always always rubbed me the wrong way. As much as I love the OG RF3 and Happiness, marrying Pia and then watching the new intro be all "Wow! Congrats on marrying SHARA! I mean, of COURSE you married SHARA, after all, SHARA is clearly the best girl, so here's a vid to congratulate you on finishing the game! And marrying SHARA.
I was so pissed when I was a kid. Still annoyed nowadays, but at least the sting of the initial face slap has dulled.

i hope this grows on me. At first i felt a bit off with RF4 special opening too, but eventually i wished they make longer version of it. This song hasn't settled yet for me, i still like happiness loads better (both language version). Maybe it's the upbeat song. original RF3, RF4, and RF4s songs have that melancholic feels in it, which missing in here, so it's the reason the song might feels out of place so to speak.

I like it. But what I don't like that much is the art style they've chosen for the opening and possible cinematics. Way too chibi and honestly the characters look a bit butchered in comparison to their portraits. RF5 actually did a good job with their opening art, matching the portrait style. I mean the original RF3 opening also matched, so not sure why they went with this modern Lucky Star look... but whatever I guess
Unpopular Opinion: I prefer this intro to the original because the Spotlight is evenly shared between all the bachelorettes as opposed to the og who kinda gave more focus to Shara
I kind of agree with you. The first 3 Rune Factory games kind of made a habit of giving more attention to the main "canon" bachelorette. Although in RF3's case, I didn't really mind because I like Shara. But I definitely prefer it this way.

This is...fine. But I have to say it lacks that bit of sincerity that a Rune Factory opening needs to give a better first impression of the game ahead. In the original there was so much passion; this one just feels empty by comparison.
But it's also a nostalgic thing for me personally, growing up with these games, so I may just be crazy.

Honestly this game is the best when you dont have a female protagonist playable, all the rune factory game that only have a male protagonist were good. It lets you focus on making the story better without diverging 2 seperate characters. Imo 4 wasnt memorable, 5 sucked, and TOD was decent but have a lot of new ideas. 1,2,3, and frontier were pretty much the best since they focused on the characters alot.
But the story is exactly the same formula when there's dual protagonists. There's no plot divergence. Later entries might be ostensibly nebulous, but that's only because developers placed more emphasis on life/farming sim and minor dating sim aspects than being wholly RPG-centric medieval high? fantasy. RF1 might be my favorite game in the series but it's a disservice to say that 4 and 5 are anything short of decent or good. They're RF entries of course they're gonna be good; that's the whole reason we play these games.

anyone else hoping that the remaster meant theyd add a fem mc with male bachelors, tbh i could careless about the graphics if the game is still lacking inclusivity. as a female i am not attracted to any of the love interests, therefore bringing down my interest in the game by a lot.
I'm with you, they should have added at least a female mc, but they are not going to do it, the game in its day only came out with male mc, it was not until RF4 that they let you play as a girl from the beginning. The only hope in that sense is that the game comes out on pc, quite likely, and make some mod and incidentally let you marry the guys, because there are some male pjs ....
Their official page only shows the male protagonist, on the cover the same.... Basically the special RF3 will be the same as R4S a hd port without many additions, probably the only new thing is the hell mode and the honeymoon events. At this point I hope they have at least fixed the children, they are the same as stardew valley basically, and have added post game that after finishing the story there was not much to do.
After so long, and more this kind of genre that usually take into account the homosexual matromonio or non-binary gender, should have been added.
I will buy it, probably not at the start because I will wait for the pc version, for nostalgia and because they have finally translated into Spanish.
The next game of the saga that they announced I imagine that they will add a female protagonist and homosexual marriage.
Anyway, I recommend you try it, it is a very entertaining game that laid the foundations of RF4, and although at first glance do not attract the characters are the most charismatic of the series and the price 30 euros, will give you hours of fun for less money than other games of this style as harvestella or RF5.
I'll get it anyways, but not being able to play as a female protagonist is a bit disappointing. It's not even the lack of bachelors, since I'm gay anyways, but it feels strange to go back to just not having the ability to play as a woman whatsoever when it would have been easy to include as an option.

Rune Factory 4 was the first game in the series to feature a female protagonist. And who says they're ignoring the female fanbase? A lot of female fans adore Rune Factory since the first one. In fact, many female players don't even mind having a male character since they also mostly gush over the girls too. Heck, I have a female friend who plays these games JUST to squeal over the girls lol
Female gamers enjoy playing as a dude just as much as male gamers play as girls. What a shit take this is lmao
