I think so. He didn't work in other markets because he was often given the star treatment (like in Toronto and Sacramento). Because that star role is already filled he can just be a solid role player which is a better fit for him.

If Rudy can come back from that injury and still move the same way he used to, than this move is huge for the spurs. He is a 6'8 VERSATILE PLAYER WHO CAN SCORE. In the spurs system, he will be very effective, maybe even more than lamarcus. He's still only 30 years old.

For those going that the spurs need a point guard this and the spurs need a point guard that. They have that covered already . Parker when he comes back, mills (just not as a stater), Manu who's basically the point guard for the second unit anyways (if he comes back) and Murray. Yes Murray is still green but guess what...so was Parker way back when Pop first made him a starter. He turned out just fine. Of course he had Duncan and the Admiral there to help him. Murray has both Parker and Manu there to provide guidance as well as Duncan and he has Becky Hammon in that corner. Murray will be fine
People always talk about wcf game one but people forget in 2016 that the thunder beat the spurs and eventually lost to the warriors. Therefore warriors>spurs plus if u know anything about basketball u know the warriors are better given there record against them and the makeup of there team. The Spurs were pretty close to the Warriors before the Kawhi injury, I think Rudy is a good and cheap pick up that definitely helps defensively and he can shoot from everywhere on the floor so he'll be an offensive asset as well.

he plays more than a little defense. 2.1 blocks/steals. Good rebounder and shooter. He could be a nice additional piece if he's his old self. He's not a primary star on any decent team; so if he can play an unselfish role and continue to defend and rebound then he makes them a bit better.

Rudy will provide some scoring off the bench for the Spurs. But the big moves will be Dejounte Murry who I think will have a breakthrough year. LA has 1 year under his belt with the Spurs and will be a better player. Jonathan Simmons also has more confidence. I also hope the Spurs can retain David Lee who played very well last year, so the Spurs will no doubt be better and will be title contenders. They should make it back to the Western Conf finals.

I like Murray a lot I think he has a lot of potential, same with Kyle Anderson and Bryn Forbes but they aint enough. If Rudy comes back healthy he will be a great addition. I really dont know what Skip is talking about. If he can play the 4 spot they will be much better because then they have a guy that can get out there and contest 3 pointers unlike Gasol. He can also be reliable scorer if needed. For his career he averages 18, 6 and 2 on 45% shooting. If healthy he will be a great addition for the Spurs and also they need a PG, Rose is still on the market and if they sign him they still wont be able to compete with Golden State.

The Warriors have been very successful these past 3 years, making it to three straight finals. That's very difficult to do outta the west and that takes a toll on a team, the Warriors have been very fortunate in regards to injuries as well. I don't think the Warriors are making the finals next year, no west team has ever went to the finals 4 years in a row because the west is too good. This was a good move for the Spurs as it helps them combat GS small ball.

Lebron can do it in the east but the west is a different animal, they're human and will get overconfident and complacent . Understandably they won't be as hungry after dominating for 3 straight years. Another team will rise up in the west and take them down, that's how it goes. It's happened to the best teams and will also happen to the Warriors.
I hope so, I want to see somebody other than the GS and the Cavs in the Finals.
