Beautiful rendition. My sister and I used to play this game on PS2 nonstop when we were kids. She took her life on 12/15/18. Hearing this brings tears to my eyes. I love you sis and miss you everyday. I pray you are at peace. R.I.P. Leah Rae ❤️ 11/19/86-12/15/18
So sorry to hear that, I used to play FF7 with my brothers and they're the fondest memories of my life. I'm going to give them a massive hug when I go back home to see them this weekend! Much love
too clean.. suspect for an open upright (Generally an upright has one ore two strings a little bit out of tune)... This is probably preproduction worked midi file... No microphone on the video, despite a sound perfectly balanced requiring a lots of installation ! The hands seems a little bit tight to get such precision in the velocity ! Sorry
@@polszik you hear the pedal work, and it looks way too in synch with the sound. Faking it would be too big of a challenge. Easier to learn to play it for real I would say, especially that he already does play the piece, so why? Microphone can be above the borders of the video and strings can be tuned right before recording. In other words, with all the subtle details he would have had to fake, if he really did fake it, I'd give him a medal, because he would have had a bigger talent at that than at playing piano
"Aerith Is Gone" " *Aerith will no longer talk, no longer laugh... cry... or get angry* " "What about us... what are we supposed to do?" "What about my pain?" " *My finger are tingling, my mouth is dry, my eyes are burning* "
That has always been Nobuo Uematsu's greatest strength. The music of Final Fantasy is always imbued with sorrow, despair, and hopelessness, but with glints of optimism and even cheerfulness deftly blended in. Suits the tone of the games so well. Incredible. This is my favorite piece he ever did, but there are many others that come pretty close.
Iv played FF7 pretty much every year since it has come out in Europe and have listened to many versions of this song. Yours is the best. I play it to my kids at bedtime every night.
Imo easily the best piano version of this tune on UA-cam - for me it's your timing and phrasing - your recording is fine too which adds to the overall impression - Well done and I've subbed :-)
Wow, easily the best version I've heard--from the first few notes I could tell this was a special rendition. Incredible work. Thank you for posting this.

Very beautiful. Piano sounds great too. Anyway, I've been practicing this song for months and have had so much trouble on the third page with the triplets on the left hand to the point where I've almost given up. What are your suggestions and advice about the triplets section? Thanks.
hey, sorry for the late reply! I hope you didn't give up :-) For the triplets, I guess there are two technical difficulties, getting around the notes (dexterity) and the cross-rhythm with the R.H duplets. For the latter, its good to master 2 against 3 in isolation, just by tapping the rhythms until its 100% natural. For the dexterity, try finding the positions (shapes) of the note patterns and practising the movement between each shape. Practice it in different rhythms. Practice slow and fast. Practice with eyes closed. Practice it holding the notes on as long as possible. In other words, approach it from a new way every time you practice, and above all always listen to yourself (and record your playing and listen to it back). Hope this helps!
Beautiful job. A composer named Kevin Lau did a fantastic arrangement of this and he has the sheet music available for free on his site. I have no clue about how you choose pieces or the time you have to play and record them but I think it would be awesome if you checked it out!
All your recordings are beautifully done. I do have a few questions for my own videos, what camcorder/ mics did you use, and what kind of piano is that? I've never seen an open-faced model such as this, not sure how much that has to do with the overall sound, but I was really impressed with the clarity of it.
All upright pianos can open in this way for a tuner to go to work. My guess is that he left it open for the mic to pick up more sound and then had his foot on the soft pedal the whole time.
@@craymiranda gotcha, I've been reading up on recording piano, and I've read removing the panels is a big way to enrichen its sound. Any idea on what mic placement, or specific things could get this well-balanced of a sound?
@@dollofshadows1703 Sorry this is two years late but if you still wanted my opinion, I believe the room you're playing in has to have good acoustics. I don't record music but from what I've watched, amateur setups always sound best in that setting with a an actual mic placed close to the piano but not so close that it could ruin the output. I also don't think opening the panel is necessary as that's more of a volume thing.
@@craymiranda No, thank you! I actually just finished tuning my piano myself, gearing up for some new videos. I spent a lot of time last year learning my mics. (placement, distance, etc.) I'm not in an ideal setup for a loud piano, but I moved it to overlook the balcony, so it has at least room to breathe. lol

This is the best rendition of this song. It's clean, it's focused, it's everything I've wanted to hear in it. Thank you so much.
