- Jeep Factory tour of the MD Juan jeep factory in Manila. At the end of the second world war, the United States found that it was cheaper to sell or just abandon thousands of jeeps in the Philippines rather than ship them back.
Industrious Filipinos took those old military jeeps, extended them two meters or so, slapped on metal roofs, threw a couple of benches into the backs, coated them in vibrant colors, ornaments, and an excess of chrome, and began transporting passengers. Almost instantaneously the jeepney culture was born, and these vehicles became the defacto way that Filipinos began getting around.
Today, there are over 50,000 jeepneys on the streets of Manila, and untold thousands more around the country.
As the jeepney gained popularity original parts became scarce. In 1966 Dr. Maximino D. Juan conceived MD Juan Enterprises, Inc. to answer the growing need for jeep parts in the Philippines and by 1969 had ventured into the export market focusing on jeep bodies and parts identified with World War II: the MB and the Korean War: the M38. Soon after, the civilian jeep models like the CJ series were being produced in the production line.
Thank you MD JUAN for keeping the real jeeps alive!❤❤ I'd certainly buy from u. Loads of love from India ❤❤
Proudly Philippine Made... MDJuan 👏

WOW, I had no idea Willys Jeeps were popular enough to keep a factory running!
Finally someone brought back the old efficient iron horse. I'd love to have one.
Go to mdjuan.com.ph/
The didn’t bring it back.. they have been making all along.
@@johnpalmer5131 Yeah, you're right and I it's just awesome! I'd love to buy one.
@@johnpalmer5131 I was going to say that! :) AND they've continuously improved the accuracy and quality of the product, it's MUCh better than the original in some ways :)
they never stopped making it.
Super cool! I loved the fact that the production of this classic is continuing. This might come in handy to those who are preparing for when the SHTF.
People in the Philippines have been reproducing the jeep ever since WWII, I believe. I have been there several times. I have seen jeeps in galvanized steel, stainless steel (brushed and polished) and occasionally painted. All with various engines. Gasoline and Diesel.
Imagine a full MB Jeep body made from Brass sheet!! :) .. If you talked to the right people at the factory!? The only obstacle would be the right amount of cash! :) ..
This vehicle is very best in hill roads and the maintenance and repair cost is very less
you're correct! I was in the PI 2 weeks ago and saw all the willy jeeps and jeepneys, the jeepneys now usually use Isuzu diesel engines!
Exactly right! They remake Jeep CJs and Wrangers in a variety of body styles you may choose from. And using reliable engines such as Toyota, Isuzo, Mitsubishi and others. That is what makes it Fun in the Philippines!...🎉🎉❤❤😊😊
@@erichadair3244 I want one.."
Amazing! Thank you Willys Legacy for sharing this informative video on this iconic jeep manufacturing factory in the Philippines. The Jeep Lives On! Greetings from Madang, Papua New Guinea!
I think it's great that they make these aftermarket parts for Jeeps. I had a short obsession with Jeeps when I was a teenager. I soon realized that I needed something more versatile.
When I was young I restored a 43 military Jeep. It was a lot of fun, once I got all the rust off!
It was so interesting, i did not know that they still made the willis jeep. I m owner of a yj jeep.Simple reliable, tuff and 4x4 is all i need. Thank you for showing this. From Canada.
He needs to come to America and Start a Factory here. WHat a great Company! Thank You.
No way, unions will kill it, keep it out of dirty lobbiest hands
Considering jeep will sue a youtube channel for having "jeep" in the name.... I doubt they would set back for a reproduction of this product.
That's not very easy. Better off just stick to the Philippines. The unique country that remakes Jeeps and restores Old School Cars and trucks...🎉❤😊

This makes me so happy! Thank you for bringing back one of the best vehicles ever! I totally love my 1981 CJ5 Laredo Jeep!!!!
Glad you enjoy it!

If I were Dennis Collins, all I could say is, outstanding.
WOW !!! I've always wanted to own one. Keep up the good work Sir ! Mabuhay !!!
Thanks, will do!
Glad to see the best car ever made, is still being produced. Thank you very much!
What a great tour.
Makes you wonder where all those items are going?
Who has demand for all that production?
This is awesome. I didn’t know there was a company that make new Willy’s and ford jeeps.
yes.and.they are from the philippines
Very interesting company and the products they produce... I really like the older style bodies with the Toyota engine and drive train.. either gas or diesel... That would be a very reliable combination.... Especially tooling around the Philippines...
maraming salamat po!!! MABUHAY!!!
wow so amzing ,and so much attention to detail
Thank you! Cheers!
INCREDIBLE! 👍👍🔥
My first Dad had an old Willys Jeep. We road in the back (no seatbelts) it was awesome 😊

Thanks for watching and the nice comment
I live in a little town in the middle of Outer-NoWhere. I could tell you its name but its not on any map, its so boring. The other day , I saw a Proud Elder, driving one of these jeeps and the first time I saw one. I gave him the thumbs up and waved in Appreciation. They look great in Real life, Even where I live.
Felicitaciones. me encanta ese Jeep militar como quisiera comprarme uno.
Amazing there is a market for this the cost of tooling etc. must be a LOT.
They're in the Philippines. These things are literally EVERYWHERE.
Only for person have a lot of money can enjoy it, lucky who can make it happen...😊
In Philippines you can buy a brand new jeep for maybe 200k to 250 diesel or petrol.
Outstanding! Do you have dealers in the US?
Chrysler won't allow it.
This is cool, I want one😊
Interesting. They make all the sheet metal parts but is anoyone in the Philippines completing the vehicle by installing the drive train, suspension, and electrical components?
Sri Lanka needs this type of jeeps a Great deal. Please send us some.
Tive um cj3 51 , pra mim não fabricava mais esse modelo de jeep , muito interessante essa matéria gostei muito
This would be a best seller in the US!
Excellent 👍
Great job keep it up
Fabulous thank you!
I bought one of there cj5 trucks. Came out perfect.
Awesome tour. Where can we purchase these great parts?
Go to the md Juan website for list of dealers. Mdjuan.com.phil
Will a complete kit be available for a decent price ?

During World War II, the Jeep off-road vehicle was developed in the United States in just 49 days from concept to the first prototype.
THey also one day, need to sell a parts only drive train to complete the jeep. Lots of young guys would love these things and could actually afford one.
Just give me for the ones ...😊 Thailand citizen ❤
Awesome!👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching
That was a great video.
Amazing that you can buy a brand new MB!
It really is!
Mabuhay MD Jeep
sana kung gumagawa kayo ng.Auto Calesa Jeep..unag Jeep.sa Pilipinas
Amazing reproductions. Back in the 70s, in north Africa, I had a CJ3B. Any chance that you reproduce those too? If so, how can I buy one?
They aren't actually reproductions. They are real Jeeps.
Owned a CJ7 and a currently drive a TJ, and I'd trade it in for one of those Willys.
I'd like to have this brand new Jeep with toyota internals for sure. What' not to like.
Go to mdjuan.com.ph/
Yeah, there are a lot of jeeps in the philippines that has toyota internals like engine and transmission and they last for decades
@@imdark4975 I have a neighbor who has one of these (granted its semi stainless, only 2wd with a 1 litre ohc engine) says he had it for over 30 years. They really last.
Irony: toyota 4wd would never exist had it not been for Willies Jeeps. All 4 wheel drive vehicles built in the last 80+ years have been based on the Jeep.
Wha an excellent bloke
I have lived here 13 years and have only seen one of these on the street.
I like the little school girl back pack you’re wearing. Was it the cheapest you could find? A must when making videos. You fit right in.
thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it.
Sehr Gute Company 👍👍👍
Wow..awesome
The local designed engine made by MD Juan soon run's these old jeep's.......
Молодцы
US manufacturers should do this: Offer a bare bones car or truck with no whiz bang heated seats or windshield wiper headlights, or electric windows, none of that. I dont know who can afford a base model 2024 car or truck for 80 Grand. Maybe when I win the Lottery or become bill gates, but auto prices here are outta this World. RH DSD
government regulations require a lot of safety features now.
air bags etc, and cheapest car can't be made any less than $20,000 because of those laws.
I want to known when jeep reproduction will be coming to the market and how price in your country before thailand needs for orders? Thank you for your sincere ..jeeps.
I am a retired American considering moving to the Philippines in the near future. I don’t think I can get by on a scooter and would much prefer one of these jeeps. Where can I go to buy a completed version in the Philippines?
Amazing.
So where can you buy a one of their jeep in a crate ???
Very interesting, how do you get on with anti pollution laws?
Does the Philippines export completed Jeeps?
Wow this is super cool but there is so much more information missing. I hope theses jeeps stay in production indefinitely. Is it possible to buy a fully assembled Jeep with the Toyota engine in the Philippines? I heard some stories they are trying or have mandated the end of the jeep ni. Would love to know more about their modern jeep accessories too.
philippines modernize only the public jeepney. Not the private jeep. They phase out the old traditional jeepney this year.the modern jeepney has euro 4 emission system electric motor, cctv, high celing at least a standing person, more cspacity, tap card,etc........md juan jeep can also ship by specific parts, fully assembled or pre assembled.
Pero esos Jeep tienen 4x4 ????
O solo es apariencia
I wonder if I could get one or two for the ranch my youngest owns.
jeeps had become a part of the culture after alot of them was left behind and also what was the original engine of the willys jeep?
I got to have one!
I was worked out too there in NORCO own by MD JUAN co. Produces US. Army military jeep ..
Hey this is awesome
How do I order one
can you make an automatic version of the Land Rover Defender?
Magkano na ba yan ngayon? Dati alam ko 200,000 p lang, bibili ako pag retire ko dito sa US , malapit na
Existe algum representante deste jipe no Brazil. Se houver, favor indicar. É um excelente carro. Acredito que terá muita gente interessada em compra-lo.🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
how much do these sell for ? id love to have one
I want that desk!
Happy for this company but needs to improve a lot on employee safety.
EXPORTAR PARA AMERICA DO SUL ESSE JEEP VAI VENDER MUITO EXPORTAR PARA O BRASIL

The 4DR5 engine is not a Toyota. It's a Mitsubishi.
Like the original without all the quality excursions. Each one perfectly identical.
Can they do an FJ version?????
What about the engines, no sxplanation yet, do you use a Toyota engines or you produce your owns engine.?
This 14:36 i s good.for filipino peaple to have job for their family support
i was in da philipines lattely, very discipline people, why they didn't advance like korea and japan.
I wish they would do this with the Volkswagen Beetle!
Howmuch complete assembly with out engine
Volks waggen beetle too pls
How many of the originals are at the bottom of the North Atlantic? Probably in CKD format.
4WD? .. high-low ratio?
They should make a Roxor direct fit flat fender conversion kit
Que precio tiene un carro, jeeps, muy bonito
So, how much for a complete GPW?
Do they produce a 4WD version?
so where do engine come from ?
All well and good but you have to jump through a ton of hoops to find out pricing for a Jeep?
Go to mdjuan.com.ph/
If you do a web search, there are a few dealers with on line pricing here in the USA.
Que precio tienen las latas completas de Jeep y su chasis gracias
