How I stacked a (Samsung) dryer on a (LG) washer without a stacking kit.

- Failed Samsung washer: WF45R6300AV, 2021 model, purchased in July 2021, took delivery in Dec 2021. Started leaking on my floor after 6 months of use.
New LG washer replacement: WM4000HBASKU, 2022 model.
Samsung dryer: DVG45R6300V 2021. Purchased together as a set.
Samsung stacking kit: SKK-8k
What was used for installation.
Best Buy - generic dryer gas kit: 5770014
Best Buy - semi-rigid 8ft vent kit: 5304492448
Best Buy - 6ft washer stainless steel hose: 5304490736
Materials used for the platform:
6 pieces of 2x4s shown in this video thus far. Will likely need 2 to 3 pieces more for the next iteration of this.
2.5" long construction screws for most of the joints
4" long construction screws for when an extra long connection is needed

And the great thing is the vibration from the washer does not affect the dryer ! I put my dryer on a shelf and it works fantastic 👍👍
Did you happen to video the build itself?
Looks great. I stacked two different brands by just putting a rubber mat on top of the washer with some double sided tape to hold that mat in place. It was simple & works.
can I ask what type of rubber mat? looking at this option..

@@BridgetBacon My reply keeps getting deleted. If you search "stacking different brand washer & dryer" you'll find a video with info on the mat. It's a rubber tile to be exact that is 22.5" x 22.5".

This is a great idea and I am looking to build a similar cabinet for a non stackable washer and dryer set to save space
Did you end up adding side panels and finishing it off ? And or do you have anything to help pull the washer out if needed or add anything to cut down on vibration ? Thanks
Nice job. I am going to do this because my stack is in a tight room and the installer had to crawl over the top to bolt them together. Now the washer failed and the repair people don't want to crawl over to disconnect the units. I will never stack with a kit again.
