@@kampa7671 I may have missed something since it's very chaotic, but I'm 100% sure there's no siege tanks, since that would've killed my defense pretty quickly. this mission gives a lot more value to this dialogue exchange: Vorazun: Hierarch, I--I never borne witness to so many zerg... Was this the threat my mother once faced? Artanis: No, Matriarch... this threat is far greater one, and it will take all we have to resist it.
Man, I can honestly say that this is the most fun I had watching a mod in a while. Not bc the others weren't fun, but just because this one is so good! And it really helps that Grant is enjoying himself so much while playing, too. Love this playthrough!
The Solar Lance on the Solar Monolith is so cool even with the low damage. And that ending with all the alerts on the minimap. That is the perfect way to end this mission. It genuinely felt like the Zerg were really overwhelming and overrunning Grant's defenses as he desperately held out until the end. That was so crazy and so cool.
This mod has been incredibly fun to watch so far. My biggest takeaway is that having a modmaker who is meaningfully committed to changing both the faction and the missions makes for a far more interesting mod than a faction swap alone. Would love to see more mods in this vein in the future.
gotta love defense missions where the bottleneck isn't so much resources or enemies to fight, but your own feeble human capacity, very cool fix to this mission!
@@Quantumironturtle Sooo expensive though. And their dps is really bad against non-biological enemies. Even a single banshee can take way too long to kill.
@@kampa7671 That's what the normal cannons are for. Solar monoliths are for clearing the swarms of chaff that static defense usually gets overwhelmed by so the cannons or DTs/instigators can burn down the bigger threats.

Ngl, I want to see Brothers in Arms as crazy as possible, since doing a mission makes later ones harder, so to that end, I would say save Korhal for last and go to Gladius instead the next episode. I really want to see Grant, Jimmy, and Valarian struggle against the Tal'darim, Zerg, and Mobius in an epic 3v3 over the Keystone. @@kampa7671 I went to Sky shield first and it caught me off-guard how much harder it was than expected. This mod maker loves making maps way bigger and interconnected with added enemy colors that have massively fortified high-ground bases, and sky shield got those in spades.
This map mission is so awesome in how the modder made it, it's extremely difficult to rush a full clear on any side side that only the top right across the bridge is viable via warp-in pylon and teleporting defenses
1:56 Grant was happy the bullshit stuff are on his side. 7:38 I dunno, she kinda disappeared. 13:14 They may be babies, but they are KILLING you. Glass cannons tho, 100 shields/100 hp is not tanky. I like how most of Grant's army loses are from him moving away the screen from the fight just as they are about to clash.
Pretty sure the nemesis is scary as it needs to be dealt answered with a concentrated force, disabling one of a few cannons with its shield regen makes it munch a lot more than it otherwise would with those stats.
Nemesis might be glass cannons, but their low stats are deceiving due to their shield regen. They can easily deal with small instigator warp ins and are really annoying if you're not prepared. Hell, they can even disable pylons, which is kinda hilarious if you're trying to go for some fancy Warp Pylon + teleport cannons, since everything is depowered instantly. I hope Grant tries that at some point.
I just did this mission myself and with the massively buffed Nexus Overcharge, Nexus HP regeneration aura, static defense Dark Templar and Overwatch Dragoons this genuinely felt easier than any run I've done before, and I got the 1.5billion bonus swimmingly. The spike in aggression after 1billion was very noticeable, but then you just make the Nexus in your wall that has been targeted invulnerable with AI Override and watch it regenerate back up while 50 free Zealots run in and soak all the damage. I did go get the Sentry first before Shakuras, so maybe this mission is not tuned harder enough for the powerspike you get from the extra solarite and added options because I believe this mod does try to tune missions based on how late you do them.
I have to say, having done this on a lower difficulty, Brutal is INSANE comparatively. The lack of some enemy spellcasters means no Plague on allies to lower them to 1 hp, and also there's no Nydus worms on the side platforms. I cannot wait for the later missions as they've been an absolute blast to play, this campaign feels like a totally new experience compared to the base game (one I think is a much more fun experience)
I like how Grant completely missed that he had allies at the top left side guarding the cave and acctually trying to defend but later succumbing to the onslaught of Zerg, I wonder if there was a bonus for saving them before they got overrun
The fact Grant got every piece of Solarite in the mission, That's commendable. Edit: Also those monoliths look overpowered because they use Solarlance.
grant, heres a tip: use aiur instigator and auir dark templars like static defense! the overwatch ability does crazy damage (makes photon cannons look like an absolute joke) and boosting the static defense buildings makes a really strong wall (plus helps the solar monoliths kick ass of big groups while the instigators deal with the high health enemies like hybrid).

This was a very good mission! But just imagine what it could have been if Grant went to other planets first and all the enemies from them came to reinforce the zerg attack on the temple! Or so I hope at least.
Go to Glacius next. You'll get Energizers and deal with a certain puzzle, and it'll spice up the dialogue for Brother's In Arms if the Tal'darim are present.
Also, Enemy reinforcements are not always in the form of direct enemy bases, sometimes they can appear as a seemingly side threat that can quickly get out of hand if left alone.
Just play on Hard, it's still features all the new stuff but isn't nearly as demanding. The only thing you'll be missing is double reinforcements, so you won't experience all 3 races at once in certain missions.
It's also worth noting that a lot of those warnings are due to a handful of mutalisks that scratch the shields on his cannons and then die. Distinguishing which warnings are actually worth responding to is tricky, especially since there's so dang many of em here. (Of course, this means that sometimes he loses a bunch of cannons to a Hybrid that dropped in, but that's just the way of things. Gotta prioritize!)
@tabula_rosa I'm not the best at games but he never responds to the minimap and yes you can control units and still pay attention to the minimap.
