Who else watches the newcomers regularly and still has *many* years until retirement? The Villages Newcomers have gotten me excited for my post-work life in a way I’ve never felt before. I used to dread the thought of “getting old.” Now, I’m grateful for what lies ahead as I am for each day, these days. Thank you, Jerry & Linda!

I love your show for the positivity and simply enjoy your humor and experiences. Who better to do a show for those interested in The Villages; since, you know how to present information, and do so in such a delightful manner. Just love it ! Walking distance to Spanish Springs are the "Del Mar" area neighborhoods with a mix of condos, courtyard villas manufactured homes, and ranch style houses. The condo's are more expensive by the way than the other types of homes in the area. Yes, you can walk to Spanish Springs from the Historic Side but it is a hike and you must cross a major road (cross-walk and signal). The Historic side is where Paradise Park and the Archery Range is and they feature manufactured homes, ranch homes and some new patio villas and a few regular houses too. Country Club, Orange Blossom Gardens, and Silver Lake are those villages. There is a cart bridge and two areas of crosswalks with signals but it really is not too easy to walk across in my opinion.
Having lived in Florida since 2008, I have come to know that the water here is very hard. It is loaded with calcium, which takes forever to get the soap to lather up, the whites come out dinghy not to mention the calcium buildup on the shower walls, sinks and fixtures. That can only be resolved by getting a water softner system.
Hello,.. ! As long as you mentioned Gizmo,.. I will tell you, I have noticed his behavior too, during the Mailbag Monday shows. The last few weeks, it seems like he is leaning on Jerry's arm more,.. I mean resting his head on your arm Jerry. He could just have been tired one day, but when he did it a few times/weeks in a row, I started to think he wasn't feeling right. He also seemed to be sleeping/resting on his chair in the background more than usual...Glad you took him to the emer. vet, & are doing a follow up w/your own vet,.. I did the same for mine when I saw similar type symptoms,.. I know,.. $$$, but I can't see something wrong, & let him suffer,..maybe,.. we don't know,.. if only they could talk,.. 😃🐕
You are so right, Ella. We wish he could talk and tell us what is wrong. The vet could not really find anything other than aging. His blood work all came back pretty good except for a possible urinary tract infection. We are treating that with antibiotics. She said beyond that there are some very expensive tests that she can run with no guarantees.
Oh, Poo...Paul solved the puzzle faster than me! We've seen a number of wonderful baby ducklings and baby sand hill cranes this Spring, but we haven't seen any pelicans. Where are they hiding out?🙈
Thanks for the video, FYI, about beaches, there are beaches along the large lakes in Ocala and other inland lakes, like Lake Weir. Those are minutes away, not hours.
Love your videos‼️‼️💕🙏🏻 Did they check Gizmo for issues with his pancreas? When my dog started slowing down and panting at age 15 yrs, the vet said he had a tumor in his pancreas. I sure hope that isn’t the case for Gizmo though.
I've watched you for almost 2 yrs now. We don't plan to move there but I still enjoy watching your fun show. Always learn something new. I "hang" out with you with my morning coffee. Thank you so much for all your hard work and positivity!! Keep smiling 😃 Lynne from Indiana
Jackie and I actually bought sight unseen. We had visited a few times and knew the area that we wanted to buy in. We also had developed a great relationship with our agent from The Villages, Gerry Andrews. He walked the house with us by FaceTime, showing us everything and he gave us his opinion and criticism. Good and bad. We bought over the phone and didn’t actually physically see the house until the walkthrough before closing. We loved it! So it all boils down to having someone you can trust!
You have probably answered this question before. I know your mail is delivered to the villages post office building. But what about Amazon, fed ex, Sam’s club etc. Where is that stuff delivered? Same place or directly to your residence?
We hope Gizmo gets well soon. I wouldn't wait two weeks for the blood test. Though they said it's not an emergency, it seems like he is suffering from something. The sooner he gets some relief, the better. Thank you for your show!
Dumbest thing imaginable buying unseen. Bad idea. About 17 years ago I bought a house with my folks who have since passed on. My Mom worked in real estate and immediately spotted water was getting into the basement as she noticed the water stains. If we bought that unseen that would be our problem. Bottom line: If you are even buying unseen, you are desperate and you are asking for a world of possible financial hurt by not checking everything out. Sort of like ordering a bride from a catalogue. How do think that will work out?
Gulf beaches have whiter sand, especially if you include the Emerald Coast, the water is warmer, and usually a bit calmer than the Atlantic. Sunset views over the water every evening is a definite bonus.
Sending hugs to Gizmo 💕 My kitty Smokey was 16 when she was diagnosed with diabetes and is 17 now and doing well! My first pet was a daschund/beagle and he lived until 16. Maybe Gizmo needs a nice new comfy bed to rest in when he sits with you? Or some ramps? My kitty has arthritis too, so she understands Gizmo's pain! ❤
Good morning, Jerry and Linda. I hate to hear that Gizmo is not feeling well. We have two cats and we know all too well about pets getting older and dealing with their illness. It’s terrible what vets charge anymore especially if you go to emergency care. I’m hoping Gizmo feels better soon. 🙏🙏 Have a blessed week.
Hey Jerry, we’re from an absolutely beautiful area in “Michigan” near the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. We have gorgeous, clear, clean fresh (as in unsalted) water in abundance in the Great Lakes, the many streams and inland lakes. Our four seasons are spectacular: orchards that bloom in Spring; summers on the water; Autumn displays of red, gold and deep purples against the green of the fir trees, blues of the water and tan of the sand dunes; and then there’s winter. We’re listing the house in June and hope to see you at the squares by September! 😉
Since you don't have a pool, I'm assuming that you're allowed to bring floaties to the community pools? Or do you only use them when swimming at friends homes? What's the rules on that?
I can’t imagine how it is to live such a sad life as those that make the “salty“ comments. You all have such a positive and uplifting demeanor that it makes my Mondays just to watch, even though I am aging out, (78), of actually moving there from the East Coast in Daytona Beach Shores.
Hi J&L. Sorry Gizmo isn't feeling well. 😞 While we were on our Lifestyle Visit our little schnauzer ate some raisins she found under the couch (good grief!). We took her to UrgentVet off of 466 to be checked out (she was fine). We were very happy with both the care and the prices. Would recommend to others in the area.
Our Lifestyle visit starts in 5 days! Yes, I’m counting!! It would be a thrill to run into y’all while we’re there! Thank you for all the fun and informative videos. You two are a beneficial presence in the world and I appreciate all your hard work! See you when we get there! ❤🎉🌴🤗
Your shows just get better and better! I've been watching you two ever since your very first show and you both look younger. I think it's because you're happy and less stressed! Unfortunately I was one of those people that bought into the the whole house water softening thing. It was costly, but I don't regret it because I don't have to worry about the pipes throughout the house and the payments are over. Please Linda, you keep that beautiful smile of yours and thanks for all you both do to entertain us every Monday and Thursday! Thanks for the laughs Giz and I hope you're feeling better real soon. I love you guys! ❤
Hey Girl! It was a happy surprise to see you when i dropped into the rehearsal hall tonight. What a day to visit. That coach is wonderful. So happy to connect with you! See you next week. Oh, and Jerry and Linda, you already know we think you're the best. 😏 And so much 😍 to Gizmo🐕🙏🙏
Hi Jerry and Linda! I don’t live in the Villages but I Love to watch your videos. You guys give out the kindest vibes it’s as your one of my neighbors . Keep up the great work you guys are awesome ! ❤
Hi Linda Sue...i have arthritis in my hand and it has improved since i came to Florida a few months ago. The only time it was bad was when we had the freeze at Christmas. Yes, it's anecdotal, but if it works for you, it's true!😊
Our pup is 15 now and she wants lifted up onto the furniture too. She doesn't see so well especially when night comes. She is still as sweet as ever. Love your videos and how you interact with one another. Congrats on another informative show. You are very much appreciated!
Just a side note that those 3 filter on the side of the home do not provide "purified" water just filtered water. I belive its a big difference but that is how I feel about it. I enjoy my water softener, we use less soap, detergent, and I got rid of those pesky water spots. Water filtration is a personal preference. Thanks Jerry and Linda for all the helpful info, love the videos!
i bought my house sight unseen without ever being in the villages. For about 18 months i constantly viewed Utube videos including yours and dailly perused the villages homes for sale sights. I aslos used the maps to show where exactly the nearest shopping area was, and reviewed home floor pans. Finally i pulled the trigger and bought my home in Jan 2022. Am i happy yes i am and good research makes this process easier. So it can be done
I agree about the water filtration. One bonus is that you don’t need a filter for your fridge either! We don’t see the need for the softener. I’m so sorry to hear that poor Gizzy isn’t feeling well! 🤗 We live in Hawkins. We love our location! We are not far from Sawgrass Grove, and are a 20 minute cart ride to Brownwood Square. It’s the best of both worlds. Distance to the coasts depends where you are in The Villages.
Hi Jerry, and Linda, We love your show. My wife, Lynn, and I spent three months from January through early April in the villages down in the village of citrus Grove and had an absolutely wonderful time. We liked it so much that we’re renting the same house and coming back for three months this next year. On our visit this year after we got acclimated from Orange Blossom Grove to the north down to Newell, we noticed something that didn’t immediately jump out when we first arrived. All of the major arterials have off street cart paths and boulevards except at Sawgrass it all ends and it’s just two lanes versus four lanes and on street versus off street cart path with no beautiful blvds. We could only think this was done in order to save money. We mentioned this to a number of people in the dog park and other areas at the pools etc. and no one really had an answer to it. Many people hadn’t really thought about it or noticed it and I was just wondering from your perspective or your other viewers if anyone else has any thoughts on that. Is this an ongoing or new trend from the villages to save money?
We had not noticed. There are very nice cart paths all the way from 442 sawgrass. After that aren't there cart lanes on the main road? That is the same way it is done on Hillsborough trail and Pinella's Place.
@@TomWilson8003 Yes, Tom, you bring up a good point. It is that way up in Spanish Springs and there have been an increase in accidents. We wish they would have separate golf cart paths.
We're currently here for our lifestyle visit. Your videos have been so helpful. Now that we're here, we can really relate to and use your helpful information.
We have looked at a couple of designer homes in TV and both had rental homes next door. Does it bother anyone else that the neighbor could be transitional? We have been looking forward to retiring in TV but now I am having pause.
Just curious…with your population in the 55+ age group when an ambulance and fire truck is called to TV is there a rule that they can’t turn on the siren inside TV?
Hi, Randall here again. Thanks for the nice informative videos. I love the info you share. I live vicariously in The Villages though your videos. I loved the cart ride last week. I think I like the cart rides the most. It gives me a chance to really see the areas. Thanks for all you do for us in your shows.
Even though we are living here now, we are still learning from your show. Al put a noodle float together last fall but as soon as I put it in the pool, it fell apart. After your demo, Al saw his mistake. He needs to use bigger ties to secure it. Because of you too, I will float not sink this summer. 💕😎
Love your show! I’ve been watching you since the beginning and haven’t miss an episode. I’ll be down the for a visit the end of May and hope our paths cross. Solved the scramble in 10 seconds. Thank you so much for all you share. ❤️
This is a comment for Brian about buying a home sight unseen. I'll be happy to be a set of eyes for you. My hubby and I live in Villages and would be happy to look for things like power lines, street noise, sounds of barking dogs, etc. We want you to LOVE your home and neighbors. PS, we are not realtors and we do not work for The Villages.
Another fun show! I hope Gizmo feels better and I hope you're able to get an appointment soon at your vet so they can do blood work and get any issues resolved quickly. Please give him a hug from me. You do such a great job and it's terrible some people are so negative. I wouldn't even give them any air time!!! Take care have fun and I'll be looking forward to your next video ❤😊❤ .....Linda
So sorry to hear about Gizmo. This past December, my 6 year old terrier got sick, drinking a lot and urinating a lot, he was shaking like he was cold and wasn’t eating. Our vet really didn’t have answers except saying he was in liver/kidney failure. Fortunately we were able to find another vet, and after several blood tests, he was diagnosed with Addisons disease. He is on monthly shots and daily prednisone and is doing great. Wishing the best of outcomes for you & Gizmo.
You guys work so hard on these shows and we really appreicate it. In your video Thursday Jerry talked about one day slowing down. May I suggest your gradually include more live shows in your Monday lineup. They appear to require much less editing! Or do they? What I am absolutely sure of is how entertaining you guys are! Hope you're around a long, long time!
I do think that Gizmo is exhibiting some signs of diabetes. We adopted a little Westie when we lived down in Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club. She was 13 years old and had just been diagnosed with diabetes. She had been with a neighbor lady who had Alzheimer’s. The lady could no longer care for her, so we got her. Our first vet visit the vet told us she probably only live one more year. We took good care of her and she lived 3 1/2 more years. So--
OHHH!!! Regarding the salty comment - here I was earlier in this video thinking how sweet Linda is for looking at Jerry so adoringly after 40+ years of marriage . You two keep being you! ❤🎉
Hello. Great video.

Linda put vinegar in your washer softener dispenser- works like magic ( I put a little downy in there as well) and use oxiclean sparkling white fresh
It’s a little ride but I suggest UF Emergency vet in Ocala. Prices are very very reasonable.

No, but often they don't.
Hi, Randall here again. Thanks for the nice informative videos. I love the info you share. I live vicariously in The Villages though your videos. I loved the cart ride last week. I think I like the cart rides the most. It gives me a chance to really see the areas. Thanks for all you do for us in your shows.
Love how much you love your Gizmo, I have a little 11 year old fur baby and love him just like that too!
I solved the puzzle at first glance. It’s very appropriate for seniors who are interested in FL.
Linda keep smiling.
What's wrong with that??tremendous smile
Tremendous content guys
Even though we are living here now, we are still learning from your show. Al put a noodle float together last fall but as soon as I put it in the pool, it fell apart. After your demo, Al saw his mistake. He needs to use bigger ties to secure it. Because of you too, I will float not sink this summer. 💕😎
haha...you're too little to sink!😉
Love your show! I’ve been watching you since the beginning and haven’t miss an episode. I’ll be down the for a visit the end of May and hope our paths cross. Solved the scramble in 10 seconds. Thank you so much for all you share. ❤️
❤❤ See you when you get here, Barbara! ❤❤
Solved. Thx for the tip 😂❤️❤️@@JERRYANDLINDA
That is so sweet of you. We may need you one day when we make our move.❤😊
Great business IDEA
Another fun show! I hope Gizmo feels better and I hope you're able to get an appointment soon at your vet so they can do blood work and get any issues resolved quickly. Please give him a hug from me. You do such a great job and it's terrible some people are so negative. I wouldn't even give them any air time!!! Take care have fun and I'll be looking forward to your next video ❤😊❤
.....Linda
So sorry to hear about Gizmo. This past December, my 6 year old terrier got sick, drinking a lot and urinating a lot, he was shaking like he was cold and wasn’t eating. Our vet really didn’t have answers except saying he was in liver/kidney failure. Fortunately we were able to find another vet, and after several blood tests, he was diagnosed with Addisons disease. He is on monthly shots and daily prednisone and is doing great. Wishing the best of outcomes for you & Gizmo.
Awww GIZMO feel better!!!
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
I do think that Gizmo is exhibiting some signs of diabetes. We adopted a little Westie when we lived down in Tampa Bay Golf and Country Club. She was 13 years old and had just been diagnosed with diabetes. She had been with a neighbor lady who had Alzheimer’s. The lady could no longer care for her, so we got her. Our first vet visit the vet told us she probably only live one more year. We took good care of her and she lived 3 1/2 more years. So--
No Bloopers! Congrats 😊. Great show as always.
Figured it out, it was a fun challenge. See you in September when we are back from Michigan.
Great! 😁😁😁😁😁
OHHH!!! Regarding the salty comment - here I was earlier in this video thinking how sweet Linda is for looking at Jerry so adoringly after 40+ years of marriage . You two keep being you! ❤🎉
❤❤❤❤❤
Happy Monday!! You guys are the best…be well!!!❤
Thank you Laura!
We had a dachshund and he live 17 yrs. .😊 love your Gizmo.
Thanks for another enjoyable video! I look forward to them every Monday. It's a nice start to my work week. I solved the word scramble. Nice addition.
