Bought one with a 5-speed. Has 84,XXX miles on it now. Sounds a lot better than this one. Gotta say, it drives nice and performs well at 80mph for extended periods of time. Got about 36mpg on mine from Louisiana to Texas (350mi trip). They are not fast by any means but they will get up to speed with no problem and fast enough. Handles well and would make a decent all around car.
If you guys are here for a "real review," then sit down and read this. It is incredibly practical for my needs, being an 18-year-old college student now. For example, last year, I had to go to symphonic honor band. I play the tuba. Once I took out the cargo cover, folded the back seats down, and leaned the front passenger seat back, I could fit my monstrosity of a tuba case and a normal Manhasset music stand, and still had room leftover for an overnight bag. It gets great gas mileage, too. If you can bear to not open it up, it uses about a quarter of its 14.5 gallon tank over 100 miles. I'm 6'1" and have no complaints about the comfort. It's very much a "low revs, high fun" car. My car currently has about 125k miles on it, and it's still going strong. Now for the cons. The center console is annoying in that the outer shell seperated from the inner part and kept popping up, so I just removed it. The radio it came with (Probably not the OEM radio, I don't remember) only lasted about a month, so I just got a $50 radio from walmart and haven't had a problem since. DO NOT take one to the car wash, however. The first time I did, the left screw in the licence plate came out (I mean the plastic part that the screw goes into broke). The second time, the piece of black plastic between the passenger side mirror and the passenger A-pillar broke off. As long as you're willing to wash it yourself, it's super fun to drive.
Manuals give you a much better sense of control for your car. Though you can have clutch issues doesn't mean an automatic transmission can't glitch up as well. As a matter of fact, they may be more likely to, being more complex than a manual. I think it should always be an option for any car, alongside automatics and the compromising dual-clutch transmissions that shift much faster. In fact, I believe DCT's with automatic shift could and should replace the more common automatics.
@uakronsam116 this is definetly not a stock headunit,the stock headunits in these cars are Double DIN,not single DIN and they aren't kenwood's either...the base stereo has no labeling and the upper level stereo is Infinity branded.
Finally a video with in deep view of the car because if searched the youtube and all I can find was tuning videos and exhaust Awesome looking car too bad it has automatic gearbox
My stepson has one of these with the 2.0 liter it has been a very reliable car. Just an issue with the door handle but that was not difficult to fix. Currently has 180k miles on it. Looks great and gets great mpg. But it is a little cramped if you are over 6 feet tall.
It probably was back when it was made but otherwise, no. It's not a true sports/drivers car nor is it fast. It does look good which may be enough to fool some people but not a car enthusiast. IMO it's more in line with the Scion tC which itself is very much like the Tiburon.
Those are where the boost gauges for the GT's turbo is. So it's only stock on the GT version and SE I believe (I have no idea as I own the GS version), while on the GS it's covered and says TIBURON across it.
Eh, my 2010 seems pretty reasonable for the price range. It really doesn’t seem that cheaply made, but it also doesn’t feel like a 60,000 dollar car either
I know this video is old as shit and it doesn't really matter... but that radio is not after market... Its a stock option in tiburons. Not all tiburons have them, just 07 and 08s (i think). Plus not even all of the 07/08s have them. I'm not sure why some have it stock, and other don't, but none the less, it is stock. To be honest I have no idea if its even 07/08 specific, just that in about 7 of the around 12 tiburons I've looked at recently (I'm about to buy one) had that exact same kenwood radio in it. Anyway, just thought I'd share that with you. EDIT: I am not the only one to comment about this, soooo never fucking mind.
im over 6 feet and it's ok. still comfortable. now fitting my friends who are also almost 6 feet in the back seats, well it's a pain in the arse and not so ideal but who givez a shit lol. did you get urs mate, aren't they sexy little beasts?
i have a 2003. I personally like the 2003/2004 the best. The 2008 are pretty sweet though and look sick from the rear (which most people will see anyways).
@HondaS2000kid yea true, but I think at this point I'd rather just get the Genesis Coupe. Funny how the 2.4 in my Forte is more powerful than this car's available V6.

The receiver isn't aftermarket, the Kenwood is hyundai branded, and is an option for all trims of the 07 and 08 tiburons.

That kenwood radio may look aftermarket but it's actually the stock radio.
The radio is not aftermarket. All Tib's come with Kenwood radios. Or at least, every newer Tib that i've seen.

The Genesis is much better than this. A buddy had a 2003 Tiburon, the reverse didn't exactly work, and he traded it in on an EcoBoosted F150.
