So the R46s can only be used in 4-car and 8-car formations? If so, how long have they been using them that way (like is it recent or did they use them in 5-car and 10-car formations when they were newer?)?

They are much less of the R46 thanks to the R211. by 2025 they will become very rare to the A and C . Great video man 👍

As 75 foot cars, the R44-R68 car classes have always run as 4 or 8-car trains.
