The iconic Texas Stadium, former home of the Dallas Cowboys, was "removed" on April 11, 2010. This is a video shot from the news chopper that I have edited and set to music.
I cried that day. I'm from SC and I'm visiting Dallas right now. I went to the AT&T Stadium, and it's impressive. However, I'm sitting at DFW airport right now heading home and wishing I could've seen Texas Stadium just once.
I’m quite late, but they would still own the property. It’s cheaper to demo the stadium and build another one in the same spot than to buy more property
I was out there that day on the side of the highway. So many good memories when you grew up playing high school football playoffs here, watching legendary state hs playoff and championship games on top of all the Super Bowls. Plus growing up in Irving, this stadium always had a place close to home as Irving/Valley Ranch was home to everything Cowboys up to this point.
the demolition of cowboys stadium that that was when my uncle frank was working for the a & r demolition company i watched on tv and i am proud of my uncle frank he is a big cowboys fan that stadium was 37 years old and it took 30 snds to bring it down
Fun fact when they destroyed the stadium they disrupted a dormant fault line and now the dfw region has minor earthquakes none of which ever occurred before the stadium was destroyed
You ruined a perfectly good implosion by cutting angles so fast and then speeding up the single shots. Just play one angle in real time toward the end and it would be a lot better.
What’s the difference between Texas Stadium and AT&T Stadium? One has a whole bunch of championship games and 5 Super Bowl wins. AT&T has NONE. Clock is ticking Jerry…
Never got a chance to see the Cowboys play in Texas Stadium sadly but in 2003 i went to Dallas for vacation and got to see Texas Stadium didnt get a chance for a tour i wasn't there long. Highlight for me for sure. Sad day when they demolished it.
I was lucky enough to see the Cowboys play at the Cotton Bowl when I was 10 then Texas Stadium a couple times during the Super Bowl Runs and now Cowboys Stadium ATT. I LOVE MY DALLAS COWBOYS!! and all those memories. "How 'bout them COWBOYS"
I gave summer tours there in high school during the mid-90s. Played soccer games, saw INXS and G&R on my birthday in '88. It was a second home for so many of us. Just damn proud to call The Crooked "I" my hometown.
The thing is, newer structures are composed of different materials from what they used many centuries ago, so in the future, these would collapse on their own.
please tell me what happened to this stadium that made the Dalles Cowboys team move to Austin to play in the new stadium and will they ever come back to Dalles to play in the city's new stadium
What was the reason for the hole in the roof? I'm guessing it was to keep all the paid customers dry during rainstorms. But watching games played there on TV the hole created unusual shadows and sun angles. Don't know what it was like inside the stadium at those times.
They screwed up when building it. So we got to enjoy horrible shadows for almost 40 years because the engineers were bad at their job. Also, the support beams in the hole were ugly, it just looked unfinished.
As life had it, i was too poor to fly to Dallas and see a Cowboys game as a kid, I followed them since 1970 and never had the chance to see my beloved Cowboys at this Stadium where I would have given anything to have seen my childhood heroes such as Roger Staubach, Charlie Waters, Cliff Harris, DD Lewis, Renfro, Newhouse, Puh, Bob Lilly, Drew Pearson, Robert Newhouse, Walt Garrison, Calvin Hill, Too Tall Jones, Ed Harvey, Randy White, etc and 4-5 years ago I went to the new AT&T Stadium and although it is big, nice, impressive, to it didn't hold the value of the great games and memories of the great NFL rivalries of the 70s and 80s where players were in one team their whole life before they came free agent prostitutes who went with the highest bidder. Seeing this stadium demolished burst my bubble and now that I finally have the means to fly to Dallas every weekend if I wanted to, the team, the players and the stadium don't do it for me any more.... sad to see a great stadium torn down.
For the first time I watched a live NFL game in my entire life, and what better way to watch my team of my life for more than 40 years 49rs forever, I watched Jerry Rice Jef Garcia TOwens and many stars like Troy and E Smith , it was something fantastic to watch my team for the first time and win with scores from T. O. and stand in the middle of the court in the lone star😁 , the day they demolished the stadium made me very sad even though I'm not a fan of Cowboys, in that stadium lived their great championships THEY WERE THE TRUE COWBOYS WHO PLAYED FOR THE T-SHIRT AND LEAVE EVERYTHING, with that demolition, the whole team left and hoped to return them to look at a super bowl, RIP cowboys and fans who already almost a quarter of the century and they don't watch a conference championship!!! I am so sorry!!! I live 5 minutes from this place that is left as a cemetery.
R.I.P.: Tom Landry and Texas Stadium
Their memories will live forever in our hearts.
I won my first tennis title at Texas Stadium in 2003 as a high school tennis player

I agree. This is sad. Hope you enjoyed Dallas
As a cowboys fan I cried that day so many childhood and adult memories at that place THE HOUSE WITH THE HOLE IN THE ROOF
Stop using transitions!!
Raymond James no
+Mike Warner tilted
Mike Warner i respect you lol i miss the cowboys playing in that stadium
Fuck you and your transitions you old bag of shit!!
Bobbybooey
Something that took so much time and effort to build can get torn down so fast. Wow.
That's nothing. Check out the Tacoma Narrows Bridge.
@@davidlafleche1142 that's more surprising
Yeah, it's easier to destroy than it is to create.
look at America now
It's painful to watch. I remember Aikman to Harper touchdown against Green Bay. I was there in 94.
Fuck the cowboys. Glad that shithole is torn down.
@@mr.davebowman426 u mad bruh
Damn, every time I wanted to see the building fall you took it away. Couldn't let one scene of the whole this going down finish?
I hate it how they do this. Surely at least one college or sports team could use this massive stadium. Ore even use it for concerts
That's me. Goes for the same thing on the stadium that the 49ers originally played in
I’m quite late, but they would still own the property. It’s cheaper to demo the stadium and build another one in the same spot than to buy more property
A lot of memories in that stadium
They at least should have kept for memories once its gone it gone no matter if you make a new replica it not origanial
What is this? Quit replaying it and keep it at one view. And turn the gay music off
No

This was a very sad moment in texas history so many memories simply passing by the stadium on 183.
Dolphins fan, but like saying goodbye to an old friend just the same.
I'm glad I saw the Cowboys practice there months before the demolition. Attending the free open practice that day was awesome.
the demolition of cowboys stadium that that was when my uncle frank was working for the a & r demolition company i watched on tv and i am proud of my uncle frank he is a big cowboys fan that stadium was 37 years old and it took 30 snds to bring it down
Conrado Rivera This is Texas Stadium not Cowboys Stadium. Cowboys Stadium (since renamed AT&T Stadium is standing in Arlington, TX.
I miss Texas stadium😔
Me too💔😭
@@SJTorres09 late much
Such a beautiful stadium, I wish they kept it for other teams.
I was at the 50 yard line when Emmitt broke the rushing record (he still holds it til this day) man, what good memories! I was 10 years old 😢❤️
Me too, a day I will always remember
Gonna be skewed when it's broken because of the 17 game season now. Hate that the records will all be * now.
Only got it cause he played way past his time
Fun fact when they destroyed the stadium they disrupted a dormant fault line and now the dfw region has minor earthquakes none of which ever occurred before the stadium was destroyed
FACTS!
The truth is, fracking operations went into high gear soon after, and still causes earthquakes around the area.
your an idiot
Correlation isn’t causation. The earthquakes are caused by fracking not being a stadium got destroyed
You ruined a perfectly good implosion by cutting angles so fast and then speeding up the single shots. Just play one angle in real time toward the end and it would be a lot better.

Here’s a challenge:take a shot for every transition of this video
Jesus Christ , if I see one more fucking transition. This isn't a compilation video.
Janago White quit bitching like a lil bitch
This wasn't designed to be a compilation of demolitions in one 5-minute video. Just saying.
Not even Texas Stadium could take another Tony Romo interception.
Jerry got his new stadium that has 0 superbowl wins.
May 6th, 1984.
Kerry did it for David.
RIP to the Von Erichs and Texas Stadium.
We had some great games there over the years, and the last game I was there. 👍 Coming from London, England as well I was living in Dallas at the time.
My first NFL game... 1998 dalllas vs eagles with my dad. Still have my ticket stub!
9 years later, and the site is still an eyesore. Pathetic. They could have used the building for something. What a huge waste.
I haven't drove over there in like a year. I was wondering if anything was ever built there!
Still remember going to the Summer Sanitarium Tour back in 2003 ,had the best time of my life.
One of the best demolitions I’ve seen. Muted the music and played the theme from Dallas.
Irving
thank you for inventing the fan cam

I saw the 99 Thanksgiving game against the dolphins in that stadium. It was a wonderful experience
They even shot off fireworks beforehand! Talk about going out in a blaze of glory!
going down just like the cowboys playoff hopes
Wait a second, they just beat the Lions. Jerry Jones was giddy as a schoolgirl and danced around with some fat guys.
wait a sec they are finshed

they will need it

Texas stadium, Reunion Arena, the sportatorium all Dallas classic land marks.

now it's just the team that implodes...
The quick changing pictures and random rock music ruin the video. Terrible.
Old Fart boomer: I remember watching Cowboy games on TV from the Cotton Bowl.
I'm happy that I was able to take my mom, my stepdad, and my brother to our first ever game in 2006 on Thanksgiving Day.
The memories
Rest in Peace Chester Bennington
My first DVD Concert of Linkin Park LIVE this Stadium.
Thank you Texas Stadium, my childhood was awesome! 🥰💝
I'm hoping that whatever they do to that area, they put the Cowboy star on the ground right where the 50 yard line was once at.
Sitting in the ashes is our last SB appearance
I miss driving down Loop 12 and seeing the stadium.
Is there anything built there or is it still empty
I gave summer tours there in high school during the mid-90s. Played soccer games, saw INXS and G&R on my birthday in '88. It was a second home for so many of us. Just damn proud to call The Crooked "I" my hometown.
I remember being at a hotel close to here as a kid and seeing it in person
For God’s sake, enough with the transitions before the previous scene is complete! Made the video unwatchable.
Why not save it for at least a thousand years? Then it would almost look as beautiful as the old Towns of Europe.
The thing is, newer structures are composed of different materials from what they used many centuries ago, so in the future, these would collapse on their own.
Just as difficult to watch it go today in this video
I was always sour that the final game at Texas Stadium was a loss to the Ravens.
Went to the 2nd to last game there against the giants. We won... it was my first cowboys game I ever went to... I'll never forget
Good music for this video. It is perfect for this cause it makes me feel empty inside kinda like seeing the Texas Stadium go. thank you for this video
please tell me what happened to this stadium that made the Dalles Cowboys team move to Austin to play in the new stadium and will they ever come back to Dalles to play in the city's new stadium
I just realized how this song and the video have the same way of telling how it happens like
Had the same types of explosions as 911, fell in the same way. Weird.
And?
@@tonyb3083 and you're brainwashed.
if that stadium was here it would of be 7 minutes away from me but now its 18
Song went from pop to country to rock
To me it was an absolute disgrace that the city of Dallas blew down Teaxas Stadium.
Too many jump cuts.
I love this video this is awsome keep it going
Dude, Texas stadium Got demolished, and when he got demolished, she’s asleep
thats real sad,I teared up, I grew up blocks away from age 8 to 18, I could always see the balloons floating by during the game
I miss that stadium great times there
Why do you have to play music in the background?
Why can't you just simply play the video?
R.I.P
I hated the fact that Texas Stadium got demolished
1000s of mice were harmed in the making of this video.
bear down man! and cowboys fans remember....44-0
My only view of this stadium was from an airplane, taking off of DFW. I thought it was big. I don't even want to see how huge AT&T is.....!
Remember when the Ravens spoiled their closing ceremony on Thursday Night?...
Why does there got to be such a so bad songs watching something so special filled with memories?
Got to play one of the last high school playoffs there. 20yrs after my dad played there
What was it like. Was the turf hard
They abandoned Dallas, the Texas stadium is gone so the god watch his favorite team play
Never been to the old stadium but been to the new one I live in New Jersey cowboys for life
I like this music and the video and the transitions

this is so sad
Great memories of watching the cowboys & local highschool football games at “The Hole in the roof”. 😢
Completely unwatchable. Music, transitions, way too long until the demolition. Jesus Fuck.

By that time AT&T Stadium had already been built, and it was truly what Texas Stadium was meant to be.
