I have been in the new Ghost several times, and there really isn't anything comparable, it's really hard to describe just how well it feels wafting down the road. It gives you this instant Bougie feeling.
I honestly don’t think you’re paying for just the name. The smoothness of the engine, the materials (the sound of the A/C Vents!!!!), the plushness of the leather, the unrivaled ride quality and the way it makes you feel special when you drive it.
I kinda disagree. Engine smoothness is also found in a lot of luxury vehicles and even lesser ones, the GV80 is a classic example, for materials Bentley with the Flying Spur is incredible, so is Mercedes with the Maybach (A/C sound vent isn't a deal breaker), with the leather, the above mentioned cars do a pretty awesome job that rivals the Royce and more, Ride quality is the only place I would still rate a Royce first. In conclusion, you really are paying for the name because in the fast moving world of automobiles, people are looking more at areas like technology, quality materials and more. Pitting a Rolls-Royce against flagships from other companies, the Rolls doesn't score wins in a lot of categories just a few.
You're paying for the name. I bet if you were blindfolded and rode in this Ghost and a 2021 Corolla SE sedan, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Modern cars have come a long way and the Corolla sport trims have a Lexus luxury powertrain.
@@braetonwilson4296 I’m so sorry you’re objectively incorrect. I’ve owned Carolas and now own audis and Lexus , you definitely notice quite a few differences. Is it necessary? I like how Sofyan is doing compliment sandwich! Says good things. Then says the heads up looks average then says the ecstasy is not average and amazing!
Why does the host state certain features are a waste of money when the car is worth $500K?! If someone is going to spend the money to buy the vehicle, spending an extra $5K on the exhaust tips is no big deal.
The RR is my absolute favorite ultra-luxury vehicle! I suspect that the typical RR buyer couldn't care less about the cost of ANYTHING. If they did, they'd be buying something much more pedestrian.
You have created a new chapter in automotive journalism videos: the night-time drive. For viewers it adds a new perspective to experiencing the car vicariously -- I feel like one of the car's occupants. You should consider making a night-time drive a regular part of your tests.
Sofyan, I love your honesty in this video. Every other Rolls Royce video I see the reviewer is just full of superlatives, I mean I get it , it is a special car but everyone seems to say the same things as if they are being coached by RR on what specific things to say. Thanks for the great video
Great review, guys! Captures the wonderment of this gorgeous car. And the colors (ALL of them-that silver is mercury-liquid freakin' luscious) are gorgeous and super classy, as they should be. And Mr. PuponT would surely LOVE it lol ;).
yes and it was in the beginning a problem because it was to much reflecting, that is way one side is polish and the other siede not. (grill) it doesn't should be lighting, it should be glowing
The only disappointment are the steering wheel stalks. What have they done with them? Even the ones from BMW look ten times nicer! Apart from that it’s a gorgeous interior.
@13:23, FYI...you can set the spirit of ecstasy to your presets just like with every other BMW. This saves time from going through the menu to find the option to lower it.
Just for the record the umbrellas are not 1200 extra, they are standard. However, to get them color coded with the interior and not black, you have to pay 1200 extra.

I just wish that RR would stop branding this car as having a their old 6.75 V12. This is indeed a relative of the V12 that you can get right now in a BMW 760. Nothing at all wrong with that, but RR has been doing this since 2003.
It's funny how they came up with the design of the 2004 Phantom and haven't been able to go any further. Not that this looks bad, but that car was sooooo far ahead of its time design-wise that there really wasn't anywhere else to go.
Great video, Sofyan. I certainly can't afford it. I think I would have to be extremely wealthy to even consider buying a Rolls-Royce. You have a great week.
Part of the expense of such a car is that you're able to get hand-built craftsmanship to include laser-braised roof construction that is then shaped by hand using primitive equipment such as an English Wheel, hand-polished metal switches, and yes, even a steering wheel that is hand-sewn. Yes, they're no longer 100% hand-built, but so many of the components are.
When taking about cost/affordability you have to remember that most of the sales are based on leases and those customers looking to “flex” for lack of a better term. Often it’s those new to fame/money who want to project an image but couldn’t safely purchase the car.
At this price point you’re not going to qualify if you don’t make $$$$. They ain’t making a lousy 100k a yr., even on a lease you’re still dishing out around 3k a month so add that plus mortgage ins and other bills, that person would be making 170k annually at the Iow end
Nice to see your new husband having a talking role in a video. I would love to see you both doing a point-counterpoint kind of thing with your road tests. It would add a new dimension similar to Micah Muzio and his wife Evie. They balance each other and give you a dual take on the vehicle.
