Rainbow Bridge is located in southern Utah on the Navajo Reservation.
Was like watching an action movie. Trying to beat the clock. Tension mounting. Happy ending.
Always love a good adventure! :)
Been there when I was 14 back in 1991. My grandparents and I did a 5 week long National Park trip that summer. One of the best memories of my childhood.
Great to hear of your fond memories!
Congratulations Randy, on a very fun and successful adventure. Again, this video was excellent and most enjoyable... Blessings to all... Robin 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks, Robin! It was a blessing to hang out with these three brothers from the church. Edifying times!
Hello Americas Parks, our relatives have watched your footage of Rainbow Bridge National Monument and there enjoying this footage.
Happy to hear that, my friend! Hope they all enjoyed the shout-out to "Al Richardson!"
That sounds like a great trip. Here's a suggestion- when you know you are going to places that likely won't have cell signal, pay the yearly fee for gaia maps. You can download maps to your phone before you leave home and you will always know where you are even when you don't have a cell signal.
Thanks for the insight, Bill!
One of my favorite places on earth! So many special memories at Lake Powell boating, skiing, camping. I have been blessed to have experienced Rainbow Bridge numerous times. One of the best was in 1983 when water levels were topped out and water filled the canyon below the bridge. You were allowed to hike up closer to the bridge back then. Amazing memories and photos. Praying the lake fills back up again one day❤️Glad y’all got to experience such an amazing wonder. God is good!
What a great comment! It's nice to hear of your special memories on Lake Powell. For all of us, it was our first visit. And an amazing story when the water level was right up to the bridge. WOW! God is indeed good all the time!
Very cool! Thanks again for another fantastic video!
Really appreciate your kind words!
😆😆😆 That was good ol wholesome fun! Loved it. Thanks a bunch!
Really glad you enjoyed the video!
Yeah, the same thing happened to me where I booked a boat tour to Rainbow Bridge, and it got canceled the day before. It was kinda risky going out there the way you guys did. Thankfully, it all worked out and and you had the whole national monument to yourselves! This entire trip you took was truly a great adventure, and I learned a lot from it! Till the next one, my friend!
Bummer, you had a similar experience! Didn't know this place would be such a challenge to reach. Enjoy your week!
Congrats on making it out there! Never underestimate America's parks
haha! That was really a fun day and nice way to cap off our Utah vacation!
So happy to see everything worked together to make this a successful adventure. There surely were obstacles to beat. It really was a beautiful sight! Take care always.
Us too... didn't think this one was goi g to come together! Enjoy your week!
Loved watching your adventure! Nail biting I assume for a while there on your time and gas! I hate to see how things have changed in regards to lake levels! I took a tour boat in 2011 whereby they had us back within 4 hours! The bridge was awesome to view! I enjoyed the boat ride the most actually because of the beauty of the red rocks all around! It has a special memory for me because I called my now deceased dad who loved the water from the boat which I was shocked I got a cell signal! I could tell he was exited for me being there! Really enjoy all the places you have been showing lately! Video is beautifully done, narration is very informative! God bless your upcoming adventures wherever they may lead!
Really blessed to read your personal, inspiring and encouraging remarks, Gary!
that Arch is spectacular and WOW what an adventure you all had getting there that is great / thanks for taking us with you
Yeah, I think the adventure getting there was about as cool as the arch! lol!
Excellent!
Thanks much!
That was almost stressful to watch! Can’t believe you made it back, and with time to spare. Cross it off the bucket list 🤙🏻
This one has been a long time in the waiting! Very thankful!
So you finally did it Randy …I remember you commenting our video and planning to go there and I remember when it was canceled…what a bummer it was …. Nice to see you get there 🤪 Hope the tours will start back one day with the water level back to "normal" if we can say it like this .
It was so nice to see this Rainbow 🌈 Arch once again …great memories and had some goosebumps 🥰🤩
Have a great day

You have a good memory, my friend! Glad the video can bring back some nice memories!
Congratulations on achieving your goal! 👏 Your determination and perseverance paid off.
Thanks much! The adventure getting there was almost as cool as the arch! :)
@@AmericasParks the total adventure package from start to finish!
Great adventure and video. Thank you.
Appreciate that, my friend! That was really a fun day capped with the view of that amazing formation!
Fun! Thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed the video!
Such an amazing trip. Will never forget our time together in Southern UTAH.
Right on, brother!
Amazing Boat Tour to see the Bridge, so beautiful
Thanks much for the kind words!
I was there in 82 and we were jumping off the cliff on right side of the bridge we drove right up to it on our boat .
Excellent info MrRandy👍😎
Much appreciated!
Rainbow Bridge looked like it was definitely worth the journey to get there!
In the south we say mushed lol I'm guessing you guys say smushed?
So maybe "mushed" is indeed a word? It's just what came out of my mouth. lol!
This has been on my bucket list for years.
So worth it! Hope you can get out there!
Absolutely stunning for a water trip. To bad the water level is so low
I can’t believe you made it there! That was a challenge. Amazing!
What a great was to end the vacation!
I was going to say that iceberg duty is probably a pretty lax job until you add rocks to the mix, lol. Great idea having the mile markers on the buoy's. So glad that you made it to the arch!
Memories for a lifetime! Have a super weekend!
On each video, I just want to take my backpack and to come with you 😂😂😂 Another good one 💪🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Sounds like you'd be a pleasure to have along! Appreciate the kind words!
@@AmericasParks It"s a real pleasure to follow you with your great adventures in those beautiful National Parks. Have a fantastic day Randy ✌️
Randy, I did this as part of a tour 30+ years ago, and as I remember, the water level took us to within a block or 2 of the arch/bridge. Sad to see how the water level has dropped so much.
Wow! Great video! So how many minutes or hours did you hike from the docks to the Rainbow bridge?
I believe it was about a mile. We were moving quick - maybe 10-15 minutes from what I can recall.
That was a fun watch Randy. I've never seen Rainbow Bridge but from your video it reminds me a bit of Landscape Arch in Arches NP. I imagine that there had to be a tad of nervousness about hitting some submerged boulder.
Thanks, Steve. Absolutely... we're all inexperienced with Lake Powell and the lower water levels had us concerned. Thankfully no issues.
Wow! What an awesome adventure! Congrats on finally making it to this monument. That was a pretty impressive arch. It’s sad the lake levels are getting so low that aren’t running those tours right now. Unfortunately, I don’t see that changing anytime soon.
What would have happened if you returned the boat? Guessing a pretty significant fee.
Not totally sure, but it was a risk we were willing to take! Walked by faith in the young man's suggestion.
Randy, awesome content as always. If you were to do this over again, would you have rented a boat from Antelope Point Marina instead? I see the official website for Antelope Point saying it's not possible to have enough fuel to reach Rainbow Bridge with Dangling Rope still closed, however, it seems like these boats have ~50 gallon tanks and should be able to get there with some margin of error. Perhaps the Marina is just concerned about liability and people getting stranded.
Yeah, can't remember our planning on this one. Dangling Bridge was closed and Antelope does seem closer. I think they do say those things for liability as you mentioned. Yet with the reserve fuel, we had the time and gas to complete the trip (even starting an hour later than expected). The key is not accidentally taking a wrong turn down an improper canyon.
I like canyon
Great to hear!
Hi Randy, great video, do you have a link to hotels you stay at during your trips? It would be great to try to follow your routes. Thanks
Thanks for the kind words! Actually, we stay in tents 95% of the time.
Just curious Randy, have y’all done the Devil’s Bridge in Sedona? Did couple years ago with my daughter and had an amazing end of the trail.
Still need to see that one... hopefully one of these days!
This used to be not allowed to go on your own without permission from the tribe or something. I don't recall the rules. I remember how boring that ride was using the resort transportation. If I went back, I'd probably do the backpacking trip.
Yeah, that would be a sweet hike! Really remote, beautiful area!
Rainbow Bridge is in Utah
Weird that I had AZ locked into my mind. Think it was b/c the hike though Navajo Nation which is entirely in AZ. Stand corrected.
Stand corrected again... after looking closer, Navajo Nation does stretch up to Lake Powell in Utah and thus includes Rainbow Bridge (in Utah).
@@AmericasParks Good catch didn't want to correct you again lol cause we all hate that guy
We had to take 5 extra fuel canisters to make this trip 😅
Wow... can't say it wasn't a fun adventure! Glad you got to experience this gem!
I see a lot of sunburned skin... ouch!
Yeah, try to warn these guys. After having a few spots cut out in 2018, those days are over for me!
Me too... melanoma survivor... blessings!@@AmericasParks
