Watched it last night and it was EVERYTHING. So good. It was sweet and corny and joyful. I liked how this was a rare moment I saw black and brown love on screen.

I just finished it. It was sweet, joyful, colorful, neither too unrealistic or realistic and not filled with nude scenes, just how a cute teen movie should be.
Absolutely. A big problem with teen movies is how exploitative they tend to be.

Because making it for a streaming app doesn’t require promoting it a lot. It makes its money on the backs of every subscriber of the app whether they would want to see it or not rather than people renting it or buying tickets to see it in a theater themselves.

One thing that's very unrealistic about this is that the girls wear crop tops and NOT get in trouble for it. Other than that I love this!!!
I went to school in a pride bikini top on a regular day at school. Crop tops were considered normal 💀✋🏾 trust me, not every school has a strict dress code
If u go to an arts school it’s different 😭😭 ppl wore crop tops and rarely got caught LOL it was seen as a form of expression
I went to a religious school and had a dress code. I have heard other stories of girls getting in trouble just wearing a tank top 🙄
Depends on the state you’re in. In NY and Cali they don’t have a dress code . But in Georgia you’ll be sent home pronto

OK, this looks so good? I was doubting it at first, it looks so good. I love the storyline, it’s necessary and original! The actors all seem so good and wonderful. The two main characters seem really real, they are tender there outspoken, brilliant, can’t wait to watch!

I really liked this movie!! I love Kelsa she is great trans rep, the kind we need more of, and the ending was so bittersweet.
It’s become clearer and clearer that most people would not go see this movie in a theater or even rent it individually, so having it as an original on a streaming app off the money of subscribers is really the only way Hollywood can really make queer movies, especially with people of color.
The chemistry was so beautiful to watch

[Update after watching] This was cute yall! It's a young adult romance, and it stays true to that. I feel like they tackled certain "heavier" issues well but without getting TOO angsty. (Not every LGBTQ+ story needs to be sad and tragic, it's 2022!) I think both the direction and the acting was fine. And I guess I'm really old now because I relate to the parents more than the kids 😬 Kelsa's mum made me tear up for real. She was a great mother. The only thing I didn't really like was that Kelsa's and Em's styling was a little over the top most of the time. I feel like they had some very cute pieces but they were all worn together so they didn't stand out but overwhelm the eye. However, I guess that kinda makes sense because we're talking about teens in an artsy school in the age of social media. Also, they really did Pittsburgh a solid with those shots because the city looked beautiful!
