I looooove grocery shopping by myself. It’s so relaxing to me. I can completely zone out and just stroll up and down the aisles and see everything. Whenever I read stuff on mom IGs about “going to the store doesn’t count as alone time,” I’m like wtf ever. I was so excited the first time I got to go to the store by myself after my daughter was born. I even love taking her with me because she’s so chill. It’s like Mama’s relaxed so I’m relaxed. I also used to grocery shop with my maternal grandmother & great-grandmother as a kid so it’s like I’m continuing the tradition from the two women I loved the most growing up.
Grocery shopping is my hobby. I live in a small town and the grocery store is where you see all of your friends and acquaintances (of course you gotta go to Walmart too). I can spend an entire afternoon out and about between the grocery store and Walmart!!
Warm liquid Jell-O for sick kiddos. Great idea, never had it. Here's a different take on poke cake. Cake mix: Lemon Supreme, Jell-O flavor, lime, 'icing', 1 package lemon or vanilla instant pudding, 1 envelope Dream Whip, 1 1/2 C milk.
Love the new look in the dining room especially from the kitchen. Looks so nice and open. And I love the bookshelves where you put them, total win. Have to share… I’m on my third month of Invisalign and I really have you to thank for that extra motivation to just do it. Your smile is so pretty Jen! Oh and I bought a walking pad too thanks to you too, loving it.

These are my favorite videos you do. FYI the deluxe American cheese is made with milk. No oil. So that’s the one we always buy and use for breakfast sandwiches. And I can’t wait to see your salsa verde chicken recipe. I make a honey lime salsa verde chicken in the crockpot. It’s so good for tacos, quesadillas, burritos, and burritos bowls. One of our faves!
My mom made us warm jello when we were sick. My husband and I enjoy grocery shopping together. I think it goes back to when we were first married and broke and it was a night out!!
I loved your comment about grocery shopping. Grocery shopping is like an educational experience. As someone who also tries to eat better. Reading all the labels and seeing all there is to see takes time and thought. In the end, it's always the lines at the cash register that makes it lengthy for my area. That part has been hard. But I understand it's a struggle all over. Keeping some extra grace in my pocket for those days. 😉
Hi Jen, Thanks 13:31 for your great videos, as always. Are we nuts 14:28 that grocery shopping is probably one of our favorite hobbies? I don't think people realize how relaxing it is, lol. I just spent 3 hours at Costco last night; part of which was wallowing around the housewares section and the freezer section. Just an idea though - I think it might be better to carry two twenties and a ten or all tens. Lots of places don't want to cash 50s because of counterfeit problems. ❤
We had jello cake growing up too! It was a Christmas thing, my mom did a red cake and a green cake and layered them. Cool whip between the layers and on top. So good.

The Mexican style Jack's pizza with shredded lettuce, taco sauce and sour cream after it comes out of the oven is *chefs kiss* I've been doing that since I was like 10 ❤😂 it's really still my favorite thing. & if you are me pick all the sausage off before cooking the pizza. I'm super picky about meat especially sausage.

Hi Jen! I'm just curious to know if you drink regular or decaf coffee at night? I only ask because I used to drink coffee late in the day and I found that it affected my anxiety and quality of sleep. I'm a coffee lover too, so I get it. No judgement here. Just wondering how you're able to sleep? You should try a nighttime tea instead, it works great for relaxation. 😊

I had the hot mustard Doritos last night. They taste just like those hot mustard packs from Chinese restaurants. They were good but made my lips tingle. That cake looks good!

Plus it's my one thing besides work (which I love my job, but no where near relaxing) that I do completely alone until my daughter calls me asking to buy her the Boba tea that they keep changing places in Hyvee where it's located so I have to spend time just looking for that so I just browse then forget it 😂 or have to ask employees where things are.
Chicken thighs are so good. We definitely do those more than breast. Grocery shopping can be relaxing, I think the stressful part is pricing. There are so many items I just don't get anymore because it's too expensive.
I also love supermarket shopping. I work in one and still love it. I like trying to find the newer items. My hubby always drives me nuts about spending extra because I am there and I see things. I have had the macadamia cold brew and it is so good. I also think it is too sweet with the syrup. I thought I was the only one who asked for it without the syrup. I also ask for most of the drinks with only 1 pump instead of 2-4 pumps. All their drinks are too sweet. Why do you think they sell so many of the Frappuccino’s?? Sugar. I either buy cold brew black (and bring my own sugar free creamer) or one of their drinks without the syrup.
Nothing wrong with making your life easier and just make hot dogs for dinner I intend to do that on Monday for Memorial Day. I have to work that day 12-7 so I am putting hot dogs on my Ninja Woodfire Grill (loving this thing!) and I already have store-made macaroni salad for the family and I am going to make myself a low carb version of potato salad so I have something to eat with my hot dogs (and probably something crunchy like pork rinds OR plantain chips).
