The P. Diddy Cumnumbum. The true story of how a well paid rapper became a well gay raper and how he used baby oil to slip threw the grasp of authorities for decades. Tonight at 9:30, only on BBC 2.
Honestly the thing about that "Biden administration is censoring southpark take" Is that if Joe Biden sent a letter to Matt and Trey not to criticize him, That would single handedly create an episode criticizing him Do those people just not know south park? Do they not remember that every attempt to censor the show has led to Matt and trey doubling down?
Did you hear what happened to them when they wanted to show Muhammad the prophet of the Muslim faith? The whole situation was wild, the addresses of both comedy Central and the studio where South Park is made were posted by an Islamic terrorist group. Comedy Central interpreted that as a death threat and banned the episodes 200 and 201
The fact that this video is how I learn that some people really think Biden is censoring South Park while also trying to call him a braindead near zombie is funny but also I don't know if I preferred not knowing that or not. The same type of dissonance as that guy of accusing you of plagiarism because you dared to cover a South Park topic that an AI farm hasn't even done.
What’s kind of surprising is South Park waited 5 whole years to fully tackle 9/11 head-on. The first two 9/11 episodes, Osama Bin Laden Has Farty Pants and The Entity, never once specifically referred to the attacks, and they aren’t referenced by name until 2002 with Ladder to Heaven. It’s as though a little voice in the head told them “people aren’t gonna want to hear these jokes or even remotely laugh at 9/11 until at least 2006”. They were never after shock-value with these eps, just genuinely relatable and thoughtful comedy which was always timed exactly right.
Everyone talks about how funny "oh not the goddamn Hardly Bo-" is (understandably so, it's probably my fav Mackey scene), but one of my fav scenes in the whole show is Kyle's repeated "REALLY??" and how he's just more and more flabbergasted each time
Because these are all low vibrational millennials and gen X burnouts who want nothing more more than blind vanity worship and anything that comes in between their fantasy is struck down like a nail.
Extreme smugness while having merely chosen a side, and ad-homing the other... is totally the way to end conspiracy theories. And if that doesn't seem to work at first, just keep trying it harder! 😂 Ask your cartoonist if conspiracy theories are right for you.
I recall back in high school, my teacher showed my class a documentary called "102 Minutes That Changed America." It's a collaboration of footage that was taken by civilians during the event and the immediate aftermath of 9/11 (This was 2001, so a lot of people carried around actual cameras instead of phone cameras). It really highlights just how big and scary of an event it was for the people going through it. There's no narrator presenting it as a distant tale, it's real footage, up close and personal. As such, it made me kind of ticked off about conspiracy nonsense. These people were terrified for their lives, and there are idiots who try to claim the event never happened in the first place? What are they even on?
@frankielovejoy9928 the conspiracy isn't that the event never happened. Obviously, it happened. The conspiracy is that the U.S. government was behind the attack and that we used it as an excuse to invade another country. Respectfully, read into this a bit, please.
In primary school my friend found a patch of clay in the playground We made turds then put them in the urinal Good times Since then I've grown up found another patch of clay and put them in random places around work
12:32 tbh on the day, when coworkers told me that tower one was down I didn't believe it because it sounded wild. We were at work no internet, phones didn't work for hours and I am in Europe. So imagine in the us how crazy things were....
I hate when people use the argument that because a percentage of people think something means its valid. There was a survey of teens in the UK where over half of them thought sherlock holmes was a real person.
I just don't know Kyle seemed a bit too angry when denying it so unless someone can absolutely prove to me he wasn't responsible for 9\11 im going to say its not a conspiracy but fact.
One of my favorite analysis vids from you. It’s so through in examining conspiracy culture but also discussing the development of the episode?? 🔥🔥🔥You go all out with these, esp when looking into the commentary. Props to pointing out Cupid Ye. watching it the first time I felt a sense of deja vu and remembered this ep. It impresses me the show can touch on the same themes in different stories. It speaks to the strength of their writing but also… it shows how nothing rly changes with time. just things are different. There’s always gonna be bigots like cartman who believe what they want (cartman tryna dial back cupid/his thinking by the end of the story is fairly recent… 🤔 but that’s for another day) It makes me wish Mattrey continued the commentaries. As stupid as they think it is, it’s insightful to their process and to the work the folks at the studio do.
I genuinely forget how stupid this episode is. I genuinely enjoy Mr. Mackey shitting his pants so hard he flies around the hallway, which is way better than this entire episode. How does 2006 feel so far away yet so adjacent to this day and age. Fuck me.
I really like how you spent the last few minutes of this video clarifying how ridiculous 9/11 conspiracies are, and the undeniable fact that it was Kyle who did 9/11. Finally someone speaking the truth! 😆
genuine thing to bring up regarding the "controlled demolition" aspect. Many believe this not because of the 2 main towers, but the collapse of a neighboring 3rd tower that was smaller and NOT hit by a plane
WTC 7 is ironically the biggest piece as to why the conspiracy theories don't make sense. If they were supposedly bringing it down as part of a cover up, why would they make it so obvious in looking like a controlled demolition?

Southpark is so "gen x midwit" ...im in my mid 30s and I still feel like most of South Park is boomer-humor. Trey and Matt are so self-righteous and moralizing.
That is an extremely good take. The inability for people to accept they were lied to by the government, public schools and the media is a big hurdle so instead just make jokes at the people questioning the mainstream. In this regard southpark is very mainstream. It is better and smarter than Jimmy Kimmel or family guy but that isn't a huge bar to surpass.

That's funny because it still wasn't long enough so they came up with a rule that a tragedy is allowed to be joked about 22.3 years after.
