A welder generator for the hobbyist is a no brainer . Best of both worlds for the extra money . 7018 3/32 is nicer for going around small diameters like that on the pin . Not a big fan of welding pipe on like that . Flat bar brackets on side with holes for pipe thru then fillet weld around both sides . Easier and no chance of pipe wall cracking or tear out . You did a great job though 👍👍
Looks good. just a suggestion u might want to cut the bottom of the raps at an angle and weld a flat plate on them so u won't dig into the ground or asphalt roads when u off load
It's that time again. time for that one year review on a welder, how's it holding up? What problems does it have? What do you like about it? What it can do and cannot do? What do you wish it had or didn't have? And anything else you think is important. Keep up the great videos!
It just works my friend. I use good gas with fuel stabilizer in it, and it never fails to start. I have used it to weld and to run an A/C and Fridge when the power was out. I am not a pro welder, but it always does what I want and it is easy to use. Really, not many complaints. I have about 15 hours welding with it, so take that for what it is. Took him a good while to figure out why we were all laughing at him. Oh, the good ole' days. I never never woulda made a boilermaker, but you get an A from me on the job!

Good job. About that pipe. You did fine. I might have used a piece of 3/8 filler rod, or no 3 or 4 rebar, where I welded the pipe to the trailer if I was building for a customer but that's not a big deal. It wiMiller's. It sounds like you are impressed with the welder. I am thinking about buying one as backup for our Miller Bobcat 230. Right now we have two trucks and one welder, which is most unhandy. You don't have to hook the ground up for welding or for most light duty generation situations. If you are running a generator with sensitive electronics then a ground is a good choice. The ground, obviously, would make the unit safer if it ever had a dead short. Many small generators don't even have a ground terminal.

I need help with purchasing correct size generator for my welder but nothing over the top ,, tia Hobart Stickmate 160i It can run off 110,115,120v or 220,230,240v input power , •120v = 20-80amps (65amps @20%) •240v = 20-160amps (160amps @30%) •Minimum generator power required = 2500watts •Minimum welding amps = 20amps •Maximum welding amps = 160amps ,
Sorry, I missed your comment. I would go with at least a 6000 watt generator. Running a welder is different. There is a sudden pull of electricity when the weld is started. A bigger generator is needed.
I have always had the understanding 6010 was for DC only. Every 6010 manufacturer's website says DC only for 6010. I know 6011 will run in both AC and DC. I am the first to say I am no pro welder.

Will do
When are they gonna restock
I am just a customer.
I have the vulcan commander 225 SMAW machine and the SOB wont run 6010 at all... does thst generator run 6010?????
I never tried any. I run 6011 or 7018 sometimes. 6011 is stronger but not as pretty.
I ask cause i just love using 6010.
Thank you for replying bro looks good!!
Will this run a 5/32 7018?
I don't see why not.
How has it held up
Working fine
I need help with purchasing correct size generator for my welder but nothing over the top ,, tia
Hobart Stickmate 160i
It can run off 110,115,120v or 220,230,240v input power ,
•120v = 20-80amps (65amps @20%)
•240v = 20-160amps (160amps @30%)
•Minimum generator power required = 2500watts
•Minimum welding amps = 20amps
•Maximum welding amps = 160amps ,
Sorry, I missed your comment. I would go with at least a 6000 watt generator. Running a welder is different. There is a sudden pull of electricity when the weld is started. A bigger generator is needed.
I just want to know if its worth it for such a high price tag
I know it is a matter of perspective, but other units cost so much more. I think it is worth it.
What do you do if you need parts for that thing. Just hope it doesn’t break?
No. You call the Harbor Freight parts department or order your Expendables from any welding store. It uses universe leads like most brands.
@@TonysTractorAdventure I called my weld repair shop (weld right)
They says they don’t work on em can’t get parts
The Ford dealer will not support Ram trucks. I probably wouldn't recommend it to you.
Does it come with higher altitude jet?
It did not.
The hobart champion 145 is alot smaller and lighter but less amps
I like the welder generator. It has helped me on more than one occasion.
Can that welder do tig
It is only a DC arc welder. It does that very well.
Any updates ??
I use it often with no problem.
Does it run 6010?
I don't see why not. It is a DC stick welder. I am impressed with it.
Lol, not all dc stick welders will run 6010, what is its OCV? the higher the better
I have always had the understanding 6010 was for DC only. Every 6010 manufacturer's website says DC only for 6010. I know 6011 will run in both AC and DC. I am the first to say I am no pro welder.
I think the Lincoln welder very similar selling for maybe $60. , more.
Nothing I have seen comes close to price
YOUNG MAN ,
I M RETIRED , I ENJOY WELDING , I BUILD HEAVY DUTY WELDER CART AND 1/4 " ANGLE IRON STEEL RAMP , THE RING WAY AN MY WAY / MY POINT ARE UP /NOT UP SIDE DOWN RAMP MOST WELDER MAKE OR WRONG WAY TO BUILD STEEL RAMPS
I appreciate your comment. I have used the ramps several times now. Zero flex. Thank you again.
Can you weld and power tools at the same time?
I would not think it would work, but I never needed to try.
@@TonysTractorAdventure that doesn't answer my question, but thank you anyway!
I don't have all the answers! 😎😎😎👍
Price??
Link in the video description.
bring back the 25% coupon or any vi va la coupon
I hear you. Vivi la coupon
being the cheap lazy A$$ I am I would of just turn the ramp over. ;) Looks like a decent job!
The original ramps were not heavy enough for our biggest tractor.
I do appreciate your comments 👍
@@TonysTractorAdventure oh, I didn't say it was right... LOL Ran it that way 'till they were flat again and added some metal under them. Again, not the right way but the cheap lazy way. ;)
Ac machine?
In the title. 😜It is a 6500w AC Generator with a 195amp DC welder. I never cared for AC welding; too much splatter.
Update
It still works well
Geinder makes what the welder aint my man. Not too bad. Seen worse pass through inspection.
Yes sir. A grinder makes a weld look good!
Don't you wish you could actually move that fast....
What I could get done if I could move that fast. 👍
You're not kidding you can get a lot done only thing badge couldn't sit there and enjoy yourself if you could just turn it on and then turn it off I enjoyed your show thank you thank you it was good
Tony do you remember a subscriber you had last year that liked to tease Hank about wasp nests red wasp and yellow jackets

Sincerely Robert Winton
Welcome back! Technology kicks my butt sometimes
Why pay $2000 for harbor freight when you can get a used Lincoln or Miller for the same price?
I like what I got and it is holding great. Mine is new and I know how it has been treated. I welded my barn trusses up yesterday. HF has upped their game. They have some good stuff. I do appreciate your point of view. Tony
As long as your happy that's all that matters. I just worry about trying to find parts buts always my concern with harbor freight, they do have some great tools. Someone also pointed out not everyone is a professional welder and it's nice to have a machine just one person can move around, and at half the price of the cost of anything in it's class as far as brand new it dose look pretty attractive.
