- U2 to bring forth a great tune with Beautiful Day !! additionally this song is really about positivity. I found the lyrics to be quite Interesting lyrics also watch how the crowd are just so immersed. Hope you guys enjoy the reaction. Thank you.
Lyrics:
The heart is a bloom
Shoots up through the stony ground
There's no room
No space to rent in this town
You're out of luck
And the reason that you had to care
The traffic is stuck
And you're not moving anywhere
You thought you'd found a friend
To take you out of this place
Someone you could lend a hand
In return for grace
It's a beautiful day
Sky falls, you feel like
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
You're on the road
But you've got no destination
You're in the mud
In the maze of her imagination
You're lovin' this town
Even if that doesn't ring true
You've been all over
And it's been all over you
It's a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
It's a beautiful day, ooh
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Teach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
See the world in green and blue
See China right in front of you
See the canyons broken by cloud
See the tuna fleets clearing the sea out
See the Bedouin fires at night
See the oil fields at first light and
See the bird with a leaf in her mouth
After the flood all the colors came out
It was a beautiful day
Don't let it get away
Beautiful day
Touch me
Take me to that other place
Reach me
I know I'm not a hopeless case
What you don't have you don't need it now
What you don't know you can feel it somehow
What you don't have you don't need it now
Don't need it now
It was a beautiful day

The Edge is a magician!
One of my favorite aspects of this band is that over the course of their long career, they experimented with a variety of influences and sounds. There's young punky U2, political U2, Americana U2, rhythm and blues U2, gospel U2, industrial cyberpunk U2, disco U2... whatever the hell Passengers was ... Retrospective U2, etc. For anyone willing to put the time in, there' s a wealth of music to explore. Anything you don't happen to care for; no problem, just fast-forward 5+ years and try again !
I realize it's kind of off topic but do anyone know of a good website to watch newly released series online?
U2 is a journey. Some people continue on the journey and some don't. For those who don't, you're missing a universe of incredible music.
That entire Slane Castle show is one of the best U2 have ever played. And it was just days prior to 9/11 (September 1, 2001).
Check out their performance at the 2002 Super Bowl. It's gone down in legend.
Thanks Gordie.
@@HAP3SPEAKZ And also only days after his father had died. Kite has extra meaning because of this.
As a diehard U2 fan I love seeing your reaction and living vicariously through you. This show is a special one in part because Bono's father had died that week and was actually buried earlier on the day of the show. A lot of the later songs take on another layer of meaning because of that context.
I haven’t missed a concert since 1987!!! They’re amazing!!!!
What a delightful memory! I have been listening to U2 for quite awhile now. I think it is my favorite U2 song of all time. Thanks, Phoebe, for requesting that song! Possibly another wormhole, for sure.
For U2 mega fans like me? A live U2 show is like going to church...it’s like a spiritual experience! Hard to explain, but? If you know, you know. Only band I’ve experienced that makes a stadium crowd of 75K feel intimate. They have a great connection to their fans.
Check out All I want is you/Where The Streets Have No Name from the same concert. It will blow your mind.
Attended this show just amazing they are the best live band ever this was filmed live at Slane castle in county Meath Ireland this was the second of two shows they played the first on the Previous Saturday it was an emotional day because Bono had buried his Dad Bob the Day before the concert lord knows how he managed to do the show but Personally i think the crowd and the Band Pulled him through and the crowd for both shows combined was an estimated 164'000
Tragic loss. Thanks kindly for your comment. I am sure it was an epic experience.
@@HAP3SPEAKZ cheers man but you really need to check out more songs from this Gig i would suggest all i want is you which links into the song where the streets have no name ☘️🙏🎸
@@reactionfan1448 I second that! It is my favorite of all time. Bono's emotion at the time comes through in that song. U2 live always plays and sings with emotion but those two songs together, I don't think there ever will be an equivalent. Another good one from that show (like there's a bad one (sarcasm)) -- Kite which he dedicates to his father.
Please do the the reaction to the U2 song " Until the End of the World " from the same concert..... You will looove it !!
“The great thing about a Rolling Stones show is that you get to feel great about who you are.
The great thing about a U2 show is you get to feel good about who is standing next to you.”
Well said.
I wanted to mention that these 4 guys from Dublin have stuck together through the years after forming the band in the late 70’s. They are a big band 😂. They actually played at Live Aid too!!
Thanks for it!!! Happy this video stayed up and really infused with the music. Never really sat and actually listened their music. Especially this song.
first time i hear this song and it is beautiful.... I love it.. thank you..
Oh I loved your reaction to this. So many elements made me feel this was a positive song also “you’ve got to teach me Lord, I know I’m not a hopeless case”. I may bring more U2 down on you HAP!! 😁. Great reaction to a great song. I hope we will have post Covid concerts like that again. 🤗🌻🌻
So good! Glad to have checked it out and happy it has not been blocked. Which is another additional positive :)
@@HAP3SPEAKZ I think this one was taken off their DVD. Several more songs from this concert too. 😁
Glad we’re having U2 on the repertoire! Great song Phoebe!
U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin, Ireland, formed in 1976.
The only famous Band with just the same 4 members, for 44 years!
Bono’s laugh at the end was him gearing up the intro to the the following song (Until The End Of The World).
The other instrument being introduced you mentioned is The Edge picking through
chorded notes with his “Shimmer” effect pedal and delay, etc.
loved your review... very insightful 👏
U2 is one of the best selling bands of all time!!
You must take a look at a realy early U2 live Performance : "Bad" at the live aid concert mid 80s one of the best songs. But you can also watch every single song of the Slane Castle live concert, they are all incredible
The Goal is Soul - those are the words. Bono has it inscribed on one of his guitars.
Best live act ever. Bono’s dad passed away a few days before this show, which made it extra emotional for him. +1 on suggestions for their 2002 super bowl show, as well as their epic Live Aid performance from 1985, which made them international stars.
Hap, another artist I’m not familiar with, guess I’m really a babe in the woods when it comes to popular music! That crowd looks like a Queen crowd, so many in the audience. Interesting lyrics and nice song. You keep getting me out there into the world of different music. Thanks again my friend for taking my hand and leading me on this journey!
Start at the beginning with Boy, and move through 40 years of utter greatness. U2 was arguably the biggest band in the world from 84 to 2009. and still putting out great stuff.
“Beautiful goal” referred to Ireland beating Holland 1-0 that day to more or less qualify for the 2002 World Cup. It was shown on the big screens that afternoon, I was there!
Ahhhhh thanks Joe!!! For a moment I thought I was hearing things. Haha "Beautiful Goal" 😀
HAP3SPEAKZ you’re welcome.
Was there myself for both Gigs just epic no other words man 🎸☘️
Me too! They were incredible. The Chili Peppers were brilliant too, but the day of the football match was one of the best days of my life.
@@joesheltonsings " Remember a certain young and up and coming Band called Coldplay who were on the line up for the first show they weren't too bad also 👍😂
GREAT SONG REQUEST! PHOEBE! YES IT IS A BEAUTIFUL DAY! EVERYTHING IS OUT THERE FOR US TO ENJOY AND BE GREATFUL FOR! AND HAP, A FANTASTIC AND COLORFUL REACTION, AGAIN!💗🥰😊🎶👩🎤👍
Thank you 🌈 😀😀
NO ONE plays live like U2 does, No ONE!
These Words are close to song a-ha
“ the sun always shines on tv” ;)
Amazing u2 song with power of life !!!!
One of my favorite U2 songs
Great choice Phoebe! Wonderful reaction to a great song! ❤️♥️
The goal is soul. Beautiful goal
Ireland was playing Holland that day and the match was on the screens before U2 came on. Ireland won 1-0. Beautiful Goal.
I think you enjoyed that😂😂 another band with deep lyrics and a philanthropic outlook....🎶🎵🎶🎵
"BEAUTIFUL GIRL"
The Republic of Ireland beat the Netherlands 1-0, in which Jason Mcateer scored, that same afternoon to qualify for the World Cup. It is also referenced again later in the show. The so-called “other sound” is Edge on guitar which is genius but just normal!!!
Ireland vs Holland. It was a beautiful goal.
Beautiful girl!

U2 was born downstream from the likes of The Moody Blues, ( as was to a lesser degree Coldplay). Their songs bypass my defenses and reach depths in me. It's strange, the almost mystical power in some music . Please keep exploring their discography I am certain you will find songs that resonate with you. I don't think live performances are the best way to experience a song for the 1st time, as a general rule. They can be a bit too bombastic and you miss a lot of nuance
Queen has NOTHING on U2!
