It is so calming watching the two of you on your travel vlogs. I can feel my resting heart rate drop waaay down. 🙂🙃 I never had Sicily on my travel list but I guess I’ll add Taormina now.
I visited Sicily a lot in my live, but the most charming place of the bigger citys for me is and will always be Siracusa. This town had me swore I come back very so often and I did. Much less Tourists, but breathtakingly beautifull. And less stairs. My ceramics I buy in a small town on the north Coast Santo Stefano di Camastra. Much cheaper than in tourist hotspots. But nice to see the love the Taorminians take in decorating their place. ESPECIALLY that Balcony. That blew me away..
Love it. Some of the most beautiful waters Ive ever visited were the Ionian sea, the Aegean sea, the Med, and the Carribean Seas. It is indescribable. I dont know why I ever came home… The most beautifulsu set Ive ever seen was when I was in Corfu…same ocean as Taormina..🥰
I live about 3 hours west of Taormina and have been there a few times since moving to Sicily. Everytime we go it's magical and always discovering something new.
I am looking for somewhere beautiful to go for my honeymoon in July, thankyou for sharing, I think I can finally stop looking, you have sold Taormina to me, love all your videos, beautiful couple x
One of my favorite memories of Italy was a day I spent in Taormina. After going to the theater I wandered through the town, visiting a few of the different churches. It concluded in a restaurant where I ate spaghetti in pistachio sauce, accompanied by a cold glass of white wine, under the shade of a pergola. I made sure to end the day at a gelato shop. Expensive as it was, I still treasure the ceramic platter I bought that day.

I finally made it to Taormina, and yes, the view of Etna from the square is stunning. Also, Bam Bar really has superb granitas - the strawberries are from Maletto, pistachios from Bronte. The almond+coffee granita, with or without panna, is beautifully balanced, and any of the fruit flavors are pure tasting. The cannoli in town have a different ricotta filling than in Catania. It’s smoother and thicker, and less sweet. OTOH, if you are in Catania, Panificio San Placido has my favorite cannoli in Catania, made to order and dusted with just cinnamon. They also have great fig “newtons”, baby fig or chocolate panettone, and chocolate panzerotti. Cesare Gialdi has my favorite French style pastries, but Pane del Sole has a chocolate+hazelnut cake to die for.

This was one of the best videos. I’m planning on several trips after I retire in a few years. High on my list is Italy. One of the trips I was considering is a Malta and Sicily trip. Now that I’ve seen your Sicily videos, it’s decided, I’m doing the Malta and Sicily trip. Taormina is beautiful and one of the places on the itinerary. I wrote down the Bam Bar and Pasticceria Minotaura in my planning guide so I don’t forget. The granite and the pastries look like they are to die for. The trip also includes a trip to Tunisia (Tunis, Kairouan, Carthage). It will be extremely difficult to wait the 4 years before I can retire. I have 10-12 trips to Europe that I want to take. The other Italy trip is the Amalfi Coast and Tuscany plus Rome and Venice. Please keep the videos coming plus all the helpful tips like don’t visit Italy in August and the best off season times in order to avoid the crowds of tourists. It’s a lot more expensive to travel to Europe when you’re traveling from California on the West coast as opposed to the East coast of America. You have to plan a lot more and the airfare is more. Your videos are very helpful. Thanks.
I loved when you touched the brick and connected to the thought of the person who help build that wall. I do the same thing. As much as I enjoyed the entire video, this was the best moment for me. I'm a weirdo too. But that's what makes us most interesting.
