I have to say I am a bit confused about their advice concerning touch and go because they program a touch and go in MAPs Anabolic. They are more or less saying they don’t really recommend it unless you are an advanced lifter but it is in one of their main programs they recommend to all types of lifters. Seems contradictory??
Best variations for you are highly individual specific and depends upon what you want to achieve from them...address a weakness in most cases. Best variations for you may be worst choices for me and the vice versa.
Indeed, it's a bit disingenuous to call sumo and conventional deadlift entirely different when they hit the same muscles with slight variations. I have to start with my back completely horizontal for conventional deadlift and I bet my lower back activation is much larger than for short people doing conventional. Does that mean that they're not doing a true conventional deadlift? Sometimes I feel like it's short people with insecurities that tries to look down upon sumo, the only advantage their short height gives them in life is that they can do conventional deadlift with a better angle on their back and even that is taken away from them.
Are smith machine deadlifts beneficial? I got injured doing regular BB deadlifts, so im starting to get back into deadlifting but i feel like the SM gives me better stability.
Performed properly they help to build isometric strength and spinal stability and can assist in building up the lower extensors through the isometric load. RDL is primarily a way to load up the glutes and hamstrings through the range of motion.

What is the best deadlift variation if any for someone who suffers with lower back pain
Rack Pull.
Do more deadlifts with less weight...
@@ciscokidcspf I'd agree with this, poor form or execution aside which could also be an issue here. Deadlifts just dont work for some people.
Well why are you having lower back pain?

I love me some snatch grip RDLS
What do you perceive the benefits to be of snatch grip RDL’s?

Touch and go has less transfer to power off the floor but good building effect.
What if someone like myself has only dumbbells?
Dumbbell deadlifts or single leg dumbbell deadlifts

Wait are my RDLs not working my back??
