    This was a great educational video and really helped me. I just want to say young nails is amazing you guys give us all these great techniques and information for us to become better techs❤ and the best part is your doing it at no charge. I love the podcasts you put up and talk on so many great subjects. I just did this with a 100 grit hand file. I'm a beginner and purchased a battery operated e-file, the pro beauty e-file from Sally's. Only to learn that they have no additional bits that can be purchased to fit their e-filer and it only comes with yhe basic bits. No carbide nor safety bits. You'd have to use a course arbor band which have been in short supply in my area due to covid. I thusfore had to use a hand file to file down all of the lifted areas to do my fill. It took about 10 to 15 minutes each nail and several cuts around my fingers. Beginner nail tech struggles are real 😂🤪

    How can I make clients more comfortable with the vibration of the drill on their nails when I’m filling and/or reshaping? I have a lot of clients who hate the vibration of the nail drill. They say it feels weird. I have a client who, literally, holds her fingers and thumb when I’m filling and reshaping her nails.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  4 роки тому +1

      What kind of e file are you using on your clients?
      Also a bent bit can be guilty for causing the vibration. There should be 0 vibration when using the e file.

  • @KAMALAISHERNAME
    @KAMALAISHERNAME 3 роки тому

    I see techs do that all the time where the client's lifting goes up almost as far as to the free edge of the nail. I will never understand why they just don't soak off the rest of the nail & start a fresh set instead of all that extra unnecessary work just to end up having to remove nearly 90% of the nail. Is there a specific reason for this?

    • @nkysolo1
      @nkysolo1 3 роки тому +2

      I’ve wondered that too. I think it has to do with pricing because technically it is still a fill and if I remove one nail I would charge extra for a new nail or remove them all.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Рік тому +1

      It could be several different reasons. Some techs may feel more comfortable removing the lifting & re-structuring the nail with the extension already in place. For others, it may be quicker, depending on their skills & technique to file off the lifting. For others, they may not have the knowledge or experience to clip off the free edge, remove the lifting & re-sculpt.

    Wow, you're moving so fast. I do my own nails, but I can't do it that fast.

      Claudia Stefanescu I do my own nails as well, and he really is moving fast! Maybe someday I will be that good on my own hands. It’s hard to do your dominant hand using your non dominant hand.

      @@youngnailsinc I'm not a professional, I just do my nails myself and that means 3-4 weeks at a time, so I don't have time to practice. It's just a passion for me because I like to have my nails done.

    when you let your nails grow out for so long, it's normal that they all lift, after removing the lifted area, there's always nothing left, so just do a new set

    I have made the mistake several times on my own fingers of running the barrel all over my nail cause I'm always in a rush this is the reason why I'm terrified to do anyone else's nails ...

      Take your time and practice technique and one direction method, you'll get quick with time. 😉

      @@essjai5D ive been doing my own nails for a couple years now. One of my best friends owns the cosmetology school and also her own salon... and shes been BEGGING me to get my license cuz ive taught myself both hair and nails... but i cant do the hours it takes for my license. But anyywayyy, ive had long (and if i can say, very pretty) nails for years now. But ive been working on my yard and my nails were so gross i decided to take them off. I filed them down and then soaked off. they're legit like paper and hurt SOOOO BADLY
