Great review guys, but let me give you a tip to get you better.
When you talk about something that you like or dislike in the car get the camera focused on that thing, like for example: when you said you liked the alloyes on the tucson, get the camera focused on the wheels so we can see what you're talking about.
Another one like the hump in the floor, get the camera on the hump while mentioning it, that goes for the sunroof, the leather seats, the digital cockpits, and everything else.
Apart from this you did a great job reviewing these cars, keep up the good work

Just bought a Tucson preferred SEL AWD. I like the style. All the components work together. All the safety features you need. Lots of cargo space and the interior finish is classy. I was concerned about its performanve but am pleasantly surpised. Decent acceleration and holds the road well.

The Tuscon looks more spacious inside, the seats, and handling seem to make it better suited for longer journeys, whereas the Qashqai is a nippy car good for trips around town. The Tuscon offers better engine choice with more powerful engines, however, hybrid cars also weigh a lot more so this impacts acceleration and handling. The QQ ePower is out now and has 0-60 in 7.9s which is the same as Tuscon 230Hp in the video. The QQ also gives more technology for the price, electric tailgate, collision avoidance, 360 camera, auto cruise control, glass roof, HUD etc. I don't like touchscreens like on the Tuscon and particularly low set ones which are distracting, the QQ gives buttons, not as futuristic but far more practical. The Hydunai Santa Fe model has a far nicer interior layout than the Tuscon more akin to the QQ.

The look of the Nissan will hold up better. I find it funny that the Nissan is seen as the more conservative given the reaction to the mk1 in 2007, which was revolutionary. Anyway, I bought an Audi q3 sport back last Summer, my first SUV and I’ve given it 13 months but it’s not for me. No kids, so no idea what I was thinking but I can see why these cars appeal to families. I’ll be going back to a traditional saloon shortly…

Not a fair comparison at all. There was no mention of the heads up display on Qashqai which is extremely important for many people. The HUD was the selling point for me for the Qashqai.
I also personally much prefer the minimal and sophisticated design of the Qashqai compared to the busy and cheaper looking Hyundai.
Hyundai is also much more expensive. Definitely Qashqai is a much better choice here for me.

My 69 plate qashqai tekna auto DIG-T DCT gear box is a pleasure to drive. It’s smooth and has the power when needed. Not sure how I feel about the new CTV auto gear box with less power. If you have driven, how does it compare to the DCT gear box?

    • @Martin-dt5fk
      @Martin-dt5fk 2 роки тому +1

The CVT gearbox is not a standard affair it has new tech and drives brilliantly with quick gear changes feeling almost like a DCT, I sell Nissan so maybe a little biased but arrange a test drive with your dealer and check it out for yourself also of course the e-power hybrid will be here very soon as well which will be far more powerful.

That "Reverse hybrid" system is similar to the Chevy Volt here in the U.S. But Chevy has discontinued it and is focused on BEV's. Don't know why Nissan would be putting money into "Generator" technology.

On the face of it, it does seem very counter intuitive, but I’m guessing someone has crunched the numbers and realised you get more mpg burning the same amount of petrol to run an electric motor than you would in an ICE. It’s all about efficiency, that’s how they skirt around the actual issue.

Drove both cars. Can say that Tucson is packed with convinience feautres. Not great at handling or country roads. Probably no front insulation. You can hear a lot of road noise as well as feel every bump. Krell audio systems in Tucson is unbeatble. Qashqai e power is very quiet. Decent sound system. Engine is not very powerful as Tucson but drives and handles well for a family crossover. Moonroof and 360 camera for parking comes in the mid trim Qashqai, while in tucson you have to spend fortune to get the trim with sunroof.

See you in 3 years when Tucson's fancy light will slowly begin to fade. Not to mention that they don't give a sh't about engines and gearboxes anymore, all invested in ev's (they never knew how to build them correctly). I hope Nissan improved since they got rid of Renault's garbage influence. I tried it and it feels well made compared to they're previous lemons

  • @stevencampbell1150

If the Nissan came with a diesel I'd have it but as it doesn't the Tucson would get my vote as I do alot of motorway commuting miles and so no hybrid or electric nonsense for me. I've also seen a few of both of these cars on the road and I think fussy tho'the design is the Tucson would again win. Renault are bringing out the new Kadjar next year and given that it's based on the Qashqai you drove it'll be interesting as I currently have a Kadjar 1.6 diesel what the options are there. I'm glad that at least in Hyundai's case they still welcome diesel drivers.

I’ve had my Tucson for around nine weeks and have done around 4000 miles. It’s the most uncomfortable ride I’ve ever experienced in a car. Every bump on the road travels up your back. It’s a total bone shaker. The tech is far too clever for itself. Speed sign recognition software is all over the place. Always giving wrong information. Constant collision warnings going off and 33 mpg is the best I can get. For a 1.6 petrol mild hybrid that is terrible fuel consumption. The Bluetooth seems to only accept one device and the boot remote close on the key fob often doesn’t work. Good points? It’s stylish, roomy, and I have a panoramic roof that opens but this is my first and last Hyundai, wish I had stuck with my Honda CRV.

How does 5 years warranty sound? Do you think they offer that when the things are not reliable? Or do you just base your statement on the Hyundai cars of the nineties?

I have had 1st and 2nd generation Qashqais and had battery issues with each. If you read reliability surveys, you will find that Hyundai significantly outscore Nissan.

@@caskraker Do some research on Hyundai/Kia engine failures/fires! Don't be fooled by clever marketing tricks like five year warranties.

Stupid review... Keep showing the face but not the actual car and the interior... It's a car review isn't it? Or was it a flirting time for thr two of you.! 😡

Lose the cameraman - He's a destraction. I have. Older model Qashqai and Mrs has the Tuscon. Reliability is better with the Tuscon. Both good choices but have stiff competition from Mazda and Toyota and VW

@ Johnny wires Yep. Of these two I'd take the Qashqai. Ultimately though I would take the CX-5. Job done.

I'm in for looks. The Nissan is more beautiful. That new Tucson looks horrible & I hate such design. Hats off to the Nissan designer.
