ESTHER Wave January 2023

Shot last January 2023 by the Esther Oil Rig. On this day a storm pushed in with 30 to 40 knot winds all morning, it was pure madness in the water. There wasn’t much hope to see this place work that day, But forecasts were calling for an evening “glass off” and wind switch. Our hopes were soon restored that afternoon. My buddy Gage and I were on hot standby all day, glued to our phones watching the live wind stations and cams. The window finally opened up and we sent it.
It was unpredictable out there. Never thought waves could break where they did. Some sets were closing out about a 1/4mile wide each side of the rig. Didn’t get much much wave riding in as the rain brought an unimaginable amount of trash and debris out there. Enjoy.
