      @@AftertouchAudio you know,english is not my first language, so I really need those words you mentioned at the chapter(sampling).before i watch this vedio,i always rack my brains to think about or search in internet these words corresponding to those sounds,it help me a lot. I also like your break down and tips chapters. The tips you give are very practical and specific, and the break down is also very detailed and clear.

    Should I use a dynamic mic or a condenser mic for recording fire outside my yard?

    • @AftertouchAudio
      @AftertouchAudio  2 роки тому +1

      A combination is not a bad idea, but if I only had to choose one, I'd lean more towards a good condenser setup as Dynamics are less sensitive by nature.

    • @terrarian5166
      @terrarian5166 2 роки тому

      @@AftertouchAudio that sounds great, thank you! But i do have another quick question: I am aware that condenser mics do tend up to catch a lot of background audio, is there a way you can do a tutorial on how to effectively denoise your samples for a clean recording in the end? If you already have a video on this, I would be happy to check it out. Thank you for anything you can do

    • @AftertouchAudio
      @AftertouchAudio  2 роки тому +1

      This would be a little challenging task to do on my end as every sound file is different and depending on the type of noise/artifacts you have require different processing. My best piece of advice I can give you though would be to start at the source. Using the proper microphone for the job and minimizing the background noise at the source is always the best option first. For a lot of field recordings where you want to isolate the thing you are trying to record a shotgun microphone would be the best option for this.
      If the option of microphone is not as plentiful hanging some sound blankets (basically just think blankets) is a good way to help minimize the unwanted sources that your microphone pick up.
      If you go into post with a lot of unwanted noise that you are going to try and get rid of, you'll likely cut into the sound that you are trying to keep, that being said, constant sounds are not bad to remove like generators, hums, or light buzzes.

    • @terrarian5166
      @terrarian5166 2 роки тому

      @@AftertouchAudio Great! I’ll definitely try that blanket technique. Until then, I am still investing in a good microphone. But thank you for this information
