i would say that most of the UK populations do not know a lot of the answers. Feel like i have to study history all over again and ive lived in the uk for 40 years.
It's probably to make the test so difficult to only accept those who time and effort into studying for it. I agree 50% of the UK population probably wouldn't get many answers.

LET'S GOOOOO! I started watching these videos about 3 days ago and passed my Life in the UK test today. Would definitely recommend to anyone who's struggling with organising all the information for the exam. THANK YOU!
Wow, this is crazy. I've been in England since I was 4 years old so I went through the whole education system. I'm currently 19 and doing my last year of A-levels and have accepted an offer to university. I can honestly say that you don't learn any of this in school and I am completely integrated, all my friends are from the UK and I class English to be my first language as it's the one I speak the most fluently. Recently I thought it might be wise to become a British citizen seeing as my plans are to continue education until PhD level and I generally want to settle here. It just feels odd that to become a citizen I am going to have to end up knowing more than my fellow peers who were born here... They should teach this material in school to everyone because I believe this is good information that anyone should know.
Most of English people don't know the answers to this test, that's ridiculous. Knowledge is required only for new British, very sad. The level of education here is very low/poor compared to Italy.
I also grew up here since I was 6. I have been here for 12 years, settled and I may or may not become a British citizen in the future, but I want to. However like you I also went through, primary and secondary education; I'm now at university and I can confidently say most of my British peers will not know the answer to these except if they majored in history as a degree or had a fascination with the subject. We have been taught some of this in high school but it was not heavily emphasised and only lightly touched upon. My GCSE history paper was based on Germany/Britain and the Cold War.
Glitter Supernova fully agree British kids don’t know nothing about these and I feel really shocked how Govt only imposed this history on foreign nationals wanting to be citizen but not make it obligatory to those British pupils funny n discriminatory
I did not really prepare for my test until 48hrs ago when I realised i can no longer cancel nor postpone it. I called the customer service to help me reschedule it but they advised me to book another one and pay for it which was not an option. So I downloaded the official app but it was too much for me to read and memorise. I then stumbled into this chanel and carefully watched all the videos. The structures of your content was just perfect I practiced few tests and presented myself confidently to the exam center this afternoon only to sit 15mn for the test. GUESS WHAT? I PASSED I am so happy and grateful Thank you soo much Tom 🙏🏽😊
I'm British and like history thought I'd pass with flying colours, but I'd have only passed this test by guessing and luck? !!! Very surprised and if this is the type of questions asked I think it's a load of rubbish and has nothing to do with being British ffs
How about making it relevant to actually living in the UK? Questions like : do you have a valid UK driving Licence? Is health care in the UK free? Do you want to integrate into British society or will you try and turn your neighbourhood into a replica of the country you are leaving behind? Do you understand the queuing system prevalent in the UK? If you are allocated a two bedroom property is it lawful to have 14 of your in laws living with you etc, etc................
