Jeep XJ / MJ Manual Transmission Shifter Rebuild and Shift Boot

This is how I replaced worn-out parts on the shifter for my Jeep Comanche. it would be the same for most Jeep applications with the AX 15 Manual Transmission

Awesome video! I would just like to note that I was able to push the rubber over the top of the shifter. It was a little challenging but the rubber didn't tear or anything. Maybe I just got lucky.

I just received the inner dust boot for my Comanche, but after seeing what it takes to install it, I think that I'll order the small round shifter boot too and do the whole job.

thank you for the video.. helped allot.. but damn that lever is pressed on hard u had to use a vice and air tool.. all and all good job for all the info. I ordered the base shift boot like the one you got

Pull the e clip. Wd40 on the shaft and that boot slides on easy. This is a huge waste of time and energy.
