feels extra special cuz i cant think of who else even calls him izuku other than his mom. ig "midoriya" wouldve been weird lol
Love, LOVE, LOVE this episode. Let's discuss the parallels. First, we have Iida thinking back to when he thought he absolutely had to face the villain before him to the point of even throwing away his own safety. Izuku is playing right into AFO's hands by tiring himself out but he feels like he can't just sit and rest when Shigaraki always knows where he is. Izuku helped Iida with his problem. Now Iida steps up to help him with his. Next up, the Bakugo rescue that happened. Back then, Shoto made the ice ramp as Iida flew through the sky. Izuku had so many bottled up feelings for Bakugo. So many things he wanted to say to him. But he knew Bakugo would see it as a sign of weakness if he reached out to grab his hand. So he took a step back and allowed Kirishima to do it. Now, Shoto makes another ice ramp and Bakugo is the one who has the bottled up feelings inside him. He has so many things he wants to say. So many things he NEEDS to say. But he puts his feelings aside and lets Iida grab Izuku's hand because he's designed for speed. We see Tenya get to reaffirm that helping a child in need is what he does. Meddling in affairs where people might reject your help is what being a hero is all about. But more importantly, Deku needs to take a bath. Kaminari was right.
All jokes aside, let's talk about Bakugo's speech. These two have such a complex relationship. From childhood best friends to a strained relationship due to Bakugo feeling inferior, to Bakugo and Izuku reluctantly working together, to Bakugo telling Izuku to stay back when he was captured to his meltdown in their second fight to them being proper rivals and Bakugo helping Deku with his quirks and then jumping in the way to save him without thinking like Izuku did for him in the past. They have such a complex relationship filled with a whirlwind of feelings. But Bakugo was willing to be vulnerable not just in front of Deku, but everything in their class. He swallowed his pride and admitted his weakness. He told Deku that it was okay to rest. That it's okay to have shortcomings because they'll have his back. And he ran up to catch Izuku when he fell. Iida caught Izuku, Bakugo made him feel comfortable enough to finally rest on his shoulder, and now the public has to be convinced that he can stay at the school. Deku thinks he's useless if he can't save people. But now it's time to address an important question. Who saves the heroes when they're in trouble?
Side note, I almost forgot the Mineta line. Fun fact, in the manga, people were freaking out because of Mineta saying he fell for Deku. The fandom nearly having a meltdown at bi Mineta was peak chaos.

Love this breakdown! I wanted to cry from this episode, and is anyone going to mention that Bakugo called him "Izuku?!!" Maybe I just don't remember, but this is the first time he's called him by his name! I got teary-eyed! Such a change for both characters!
Sending Iida after Deku was the absolute best thing they could’ve done.
Also Iida’s been using Ingenium for a few of seasons. He said he wouldn’t get his crooked hand fixed until he was a true hero. It got messed up during the Stain fight. It’s also the hand he takes Deku’s hand with
It’s a wonderful parallel to when they rescued Bakugo from the League of Villains. They made a point then that Deku couldn’t be the one to reach out to Bakugo, it had to be Kirishima. And here it’s mirrored, Bakugo understands that he can’t be the one to reach his hand out, it has to be Iida.
This whole episode was so full of emotion

It's not just that he apologized and called Deku Izuku, but that he did it publicly that impressed me and finally made me like Bakugo.
Even tho I read the manga I still shed some tears because of Bakugo finally having that heart to heart talk and apologizing as well as calling him Izuku.

*Class 1-A really showed off their teamwork here. Together, they were able to keep up with One for All, and go toe to toe with it. Granted the goal was never really to fight back, just to escape, but still... If I’m being honest though, part of me is still kind of scared for 1-A in the long run. Like, yeah, against One for All they put up a great fight, but against All for One, I hope they make it out of this unscathed.*

Not only is this season almost over, but Season 7 ( WHICH IS CONFIRMED ) may be the final season. Such a good anime.

You guys notice in this episode that Bakugo, Ida, Ashido, Mineta, and Sero aren't wearing their masks/helmets when Class A was trying to get Deku back to U.A. Even Koda and Kirishima took their headgear off mid-battle.

8:57 Bakugo has been having development since season 1, most of the time it has been slow and hard to see, but there has always been there
His development is honestly the best character development out of all anime characters, it’s indescribable.

I admit, I loved this episode, but I didn't cry, I felt utter shock that Bakugo apologises.
Only thing more shocking than that is not calling him Deku.
Small correction. Kirishima wasn't there when Izuku ran out to save Bakugo.
He heard it later on the news about a kid rushing out to save his friend. It stuck with him because when Kirishima was put in the same situation, with the two girls and Gigantomachia (refer to his fight against Rappa in s4 for details), he wasn't able to move.
Yeah it may be Deku's story but Bakugou has the most character development through it. Even here Deku is still the same as he was at the start of the show, wanting to help and protect everyone but himself, though he does start realizing that doesn't have to be the case here

Everything hit me in this episode, but out of everything bakugo said, i know its small n all but it rang deeper to me.
He didnt refer to Deku as Nerd or Deku or any of that, not even his last name. He actually called him Izuku. That really spoke a lot to me.
