- Often overlooked, France has some very interesting watches. On the more affordable end, these three watches represent one for economical everyday use, one with a manual wind in-house movement and a chronograph.

Baltic is doing great in the microbrand segment, the Pequignet is definitely my favorite of the 3.
That seems very much to be the consensus, Abdul. Take care, Bill
Hey Bill, great video. Baltic are to be applauded for their honesty. Throw in nice dials and they’re the perfect entry point to our hobby. All the best, Ed
Good point, Ed. I had not thought of that, but you're right-a perfect entry point to the addiction...an inexpensive sample to begin and then ... hooked! 😉Take care, Bill
Nice video thanks for all your research
My pleasure Micheal! Take care, Bill
I really like Pequignet, and the way the movement looks! I wasn’t familiar with the brand, thanks for sharing Dr.!
Maybe something you want to get Javi?🤔 Take care, Bill
I work at the Pequignet boutique in Paris! Im glad that you’re talking about it because it deserves it! Great movements at great prices! Don’t hesitate to visit the store when in Paris, and let’s discuss about the great videos of our Dr!
A new brand to me but one I’ll remember with some lovely looking watches. Hopefully Bill has sent a few more people to see you! All the best
Merci Pierre! I really like you Royal Manuelle movement-very affordable horology! Take care, Bill
Three good looking watches Bill. I've only ever heard of Baltic, and what I've heard has been positive.
Best regards, Brian
Yes, Brian, Baltic has been showing up a lot-stylish beater? Take care, Bill
Great content bill 🥃🏌🏽♂️
Hey Tim, thanks man! Take care, Bill
Gee the Pequignet are quite nice finds, awesome movement as well.
Yes Killer, they're coming along. Well priced too! Take care, Bill
Ive been keeping my eye out for a nice Pequignet deal for a while now. Some real good looking pieces around 2500 usd.
Maybe be a good buy HRM if you like the rest of the watch. Take care, Bill
Hi Bill. The Pequignet does look nice. Thirty six hundred for an in-house movement seems fair.
I thought the same thing Tuna. Take care, Bill
What's the function of the backwards counting bezel on the Dodane?
Countdown in a regatta? I'm not sure DrBob. Take care, Bill
Bill, the blown up view of the Pequignet movement shows a rotor, yet it's a manual wind??? The Dodane movement shows a date window, that the dial does not have???
It’s the barrel bridge not a rotor, and on the ETA I think it comes with and without date. Either that or it comes with the date but they choose not to display it dial side.
@@localheroEd Lesson No.1, Don't question Bill.
It's quite OK to question me. Keeps me honest Rog! Take care, Bill
@@Rog5446 I thought exactly the same on the Pequignet at first! On the ETA it’s my guess so I could be wrong. And it’s always ok to question in my book. If you don’t know or are unsure how are you going to know without asking?
👌👍🙏
Thanks Simmy! Take care, Bill
Is Yema one of them?
Yema's movements are so new, hard to recommend them without real life experience. Especially their microrotor movement worries me ALOT. The microrotor movement has a miniscule balancewheel and mainsprings in series
Despo, check out this video I did on Yema: ua-cam.com/video/c3fBu_4MqT8/v-deo.html Take care, Bill
Is L.I.P. one of them?
John, I'm not sure about Lip...I do like the Jaquet 736 they're using as a sub for their original T18, but most of their watches run on Ronda quartz or Miyota mechanical movements. Take care, Bill
Peugeot?
Do they make watches? Not just cars, John? Take care, Bill
They did a few back then(vintage stuff)
