    I'm a 69yr old Brit (ex squaddie) So I grew up in a post/WW2/Cold war world environment, I remember watching the Eastern European countries being consumed by the "Ruskie" I am not able to remember as I was too young, But I know of the 1956 Hungarian uprising, and the Terror the "Ruskie" released on that Nation, I served to stop that in my homeland, I stand alongside the Ukrainians, To stop Putin is to hold back Tyranny for one more year, good enough for any soldier,

      Considering some of the factories that produce the goods you want to boycott cost BILLIONS of dollars to set up and it's all located in China. Do the countries in recession have extra money to set these factories up? I hope you understand the problem is: for 40 years all the new big factories were built mostly in China and nowhere else.

    China has already inserted it's tentacles into the 'stans' to its NW and will be happy to claim Vladivostok and surrounds. Nothing Putin could do about Xi's ambitions.

      Not only Vladivostok. To get China on his side, Putin promised China some industrial plans in the occupied by Russia Ukrainian territories. Before February 24, 2022 Putin promises Poland Western Ukraine, Hungary the Ukrainian territory between Hungary and the Carpathian Mountains. Poland refused, but Hungary didn't. And that's why Hungary isn't helping Ukraine.

    When the BRICS Currency is fully accepted - first they must have one. And the dollar-dept outside the US is huge, and to get out of the $ the $-debts first must be paid, which will push the demand for $ further. Check out the inflation rate of the BRICS-Countries and specially of the countries, that announced wanting become part of the BRICS. "Want to do" and "able to do" are not the same thing.

      Not really they dont have the liquid gaz infrastructure and they buy the oil pretty cheap. Its funny people dont realize it take time to make infrastructure there is not that many infrastructure through siberia and the 2 country mainly because russia is afraid that china try to push for manchuria by investing and populating the area. Therefore they try to limit investment in that area. Its all in chinese interest to see russia struggle it give them more card to play to get back their lost territories

F16s will never take off from Ukrainian soil, because no runway long enough or smooth enough will exist. Russia is tickling Ukraine at the moment.     Before Nordstream was blown up, wasn't Germany playing a double game as well? On the one hand condemning the Russian invasion, on the other, financing the Russians by buying their cheap gas. The West today continues to buy energy indirectly from Russia by buying 'processed' oil from India. Oh, don't forget Russian fertiliser the US is quietly buying from Russia. The West are well and truly the inventor of hypocrisy.

      But, the fuel they buy from Russia is almost theft. Atop of that, it allows India to establish it's energy market and advance it's society legitimately. China, under the CCP, has bloodied Indian troops over their border dispute in the past few years. A strong India is a in invaluable partner to have as a balance to tyrannical regimes.

    China and the US are currently in a sybiotic relationship, each is reliant on the other, we buy the cheap products they produce, and, they buy a lot of our debt. The Chinese will have to decide if they want to jepordize that relationship. The rise of manufacturing in Mexico, is going to shrink the influence of the Chinese, they are definitely more dependent on us, than we are on them. Sure we will have to relearn how to manufacture things here, and, in Mexico for example, but, in the long run, that will only make the US stronger.

      The US is not reliant on China except for cheap manufacturing. So it’s replacing China with India, Vietnam, and Mexico, all of whom now have cheaper labor. Aside from Tesla, which is in hock to China, major US companies have been quickly decoupling from China.

      The world has realized that without somebody buying Russian oil, the high prices resulting from the shortage would wreck the world economy, hurting ourselves more than Russia, so India buying that oil at very low prices, which with high Russian production costs leaves only a moderate profit, is the reasonable alternative to trying to enforce a total ban.

    Neither Iran nor Saudi Arabia occupied any land of the other. That ‘peace’ deal by China 🇨🇳 cannot be compared to a deal between occupying 🇷🇺 and occupied 🇺🇦. It basically just got China better access to affordable Middle Eastern petroleum products.

    There are several on-line auction/sales dealing in semiconductors - all based in Hong Kong. The language used is primarily Chinese with secondary use of English. Currency used in settlements is USD$.

    China's attempt to force its "peace process" on Ukraine is yet another reason to give Ukraine everything it needs to win the war ASAP, preferably by the end of this year. Imagine what could have happened if Ukraine had had Leopards, Bradleys, Patriot, Storm Shadow, and F-16s at the time of the Kharkiv offensive last September.

    China doesn't want the figuring to end. How would America feel if Russia went to war with China? That is how China feels now. They will give Russia enough help to stay in the fight but not enough to win.

      In Kazakhstan there are Russian businesses buying weapons from China, North Korea, even Western countries, then sending it by train to Russia. Because Kazakhstan isn't sanctioned the corrupt government there helps Russia. And China likes to help Russia that way and didn't get sanctioned... Putin promised China some industrial plants in the occupied by Russia Ukrainian territories. China wants Russia to win.

    It’s been interesting seeing eastern powers go full speed ahead into war. So far, it seems to only benefit china in the end. The next time putin reloads, he should point the gun away from his feet.

    If Putin falls. The Russian Federation will break up very nastily. China may well see that they must intervene in Siberia to maintain stability, giving China a cornucopia of minerals etc. They may even grow closer to the Stan group of countries which may cause a problem over the Uighur people and also for Turkey which is courting the Moslem Stan countries as well!

    In Australia we are right behind Ukraine and oppose Russian unprovoked aggression. And as country more southerly situated than most, probably object to being either included or excluded from being labelled as part of the global south.

    China cannot take over Taiwan's semiconductor industry as all the global partners supporting and collaborating with organizations such as TSMC will not work with the Chinese should they take ownership of these companies by force. Without global collaborators, these companies will cease to be competitive.

      Is there any way in the case of this, backup all prototypes/inner practices etc? if something seems likely it seems natural to me to protect what they do best.
      we must protect our knowledge as much as everything else. what if knowledge comes to crumble. where would that put other countries on map like china? nothing against them
      but that would make them superpower (by dragging other down). more than they possibly already are. This in itself would be huge mistake/conflict of interest to me. what about a 2nd plant (clone of original), so if 1 controlled backup one somewhere else (everything same).

    TSMC has moved it's semiconductor fab busi ess to Arizona. Besides it is not Taiwan and TSMC - it is ASML who makes and licenses the equipment that makes the chips. By the license ASML has required TSMC to remove the ASML equipment from Taiwan soil.
    The war will not end until Putin ends.
    Putin wants and needs Ukraine oil and gas fields - and that is why the war started in 2014
    Putin will never stop until he no longer breathes and it is amazing why the west cannot understand that

    Fairly obviously China wants to be the power that decides who replaces Putin. They're playing a long game. If they can control Russia, then they get backup for invading Taiwan.
    The West doesn't appear to have even thought about how to handle the inevitable power struggle once Putin goes.

      It doesn’t matter what China does with Russia it will never be capable of taking Taiwan unless the West acquiesces to the invasion. China’s lack of capabilities and strategic position prevents them ever being successful over the Wests concerted efforts to prevent it.
      Taiwans semiconductor chip plants would be gone in an invasion. How many on going businesses are still functional in Donetsk and Luhansk?

    At the time when the Concorde aeroplane was being developed, it became obvious that Russia was copying designs directly into the Russian "equivalent" supersonic jet.
    Then the British/French allowed the Russians to copy some design which was deliberately flawed - and would be fatal.
    The Russian aeroplane did actually crash ... ... ... at the Paris airshow.
    I would like to peddle faulty semiconductors to Russian sanction-breakers.

    The semiconductor manufacturing in Taiwan is NOT like a "tire" factory etc where China could just walk in and start pulling the levers. Semiconductor manufacturing requires years of skill development. Even if they could physically take the factory the West could just send a single cruise missile to take out the plant so no one could build the chips. It takes many years to build a new plant even IF the components and hardware would be available.

    It isn’t a counter offensive it is a just plain offensive. A counter offensive is an offensive taken while your adversary is in the middle of their offensive. Since the end of the offensive in Bakmut Russia isn’t currently on the offense.
