OPEN WATER: STATIA (AKA. ST EUSTATIUS ISLAND-MARCH 2023)

Our first time diving at this beautiful caribbean destination(my first experience diving in the Dutch Caribbean was back in 2012 in the island of Bonaire). We booked our trip to Statia (AKA St. Eustatius Island) with UnderseaX Company which caters LGBTQA+ divers. The local people were wonderful both at Golden Rock Nature and Dive Resort as well as in the places we visited in the Island. The staff at Scubaqua Dive Center where very friendly and professional making each diving experience a fun and safe one. We even got to hike with a local guide at Quill National Park our last day of our stay! Despite the unpredicted Sargassum algae crisis (which affected the caribbean this spring) we were able to get some decent dives. Our trip leader (Robert Walden) did an amazing job for our group especially with the selection of some delicious local food places for dinner - the "dive and dine" experience 😀 (as Robert describes it!). Last but not least, Peter and I got to meet some wonderful diving buddies. We enjoyed very much everyones company and our group got to experience a fun and relaxing week together. We really look forward to get to dive with them again in the near future at some other beautiful destination. HAPPY PRIDE! 🐠 🤿 🌈
