You know what would’ve been nice, a heartfelt movie about a father trying to reconnect with his daughter before she went off to college. There was no need for the robots.
Or a sweet movie about music, without the whole ‘every black protagonist never stays black’.
Or loosing a great spiritual guide of a dragon, or giving a sympathetic backstory to a perfectly evil villain.
Or staying true to the great book that would easily be adaptable into a movie.

Likely talking about Artemis Fowl. Which is a beloved young adult series popular in the early to mid 2000's. Quite honestly may end up being a perfectly decent movie. But the plot has almost nothing to do with the original books. They just took the basic premise of many of the characters and made a completely different story that may end up vaguely referencing the original work.
Kind of sad about it honestly. There has been talk of making a movie for a decade. And they ended up getting rid of the plot surrounding a evil genius kid that slowly learns to use his skills and knowledge for good into a pretty generic go save the parent kids action move. Although. Now that I say that. That is basically the first two books of the series. Kind of.

Draconuuse Man the Artemis Fowl books are great,in my top 20 book series.
Mr. Dinosuar Loved then as a kid. But ya. This is a completely different story compared to the original. Basically for the first book or 3. Artemis is actually the bad guy. One who fights other criminal elements. Although for mostly selfish reasons at first. The first book barely hints at him being good in the very last chapter. Between that and an interesting take on the fantasy world in modern times hiding from the mundane. Well. I’m honestly thinking I should go re read the series now.

Danm, I love 3D but I can't take these 3D kids animantions anymore, they don't feel, right... Mostly just feels dead or even lazy
I know most are not, hell the textures in some of them were amazing, but something is missing in them and I can't say what it is

Wasn't there that My Little Pony movie a few years ago? I'm not a MLP fan at all, but still. I dunno if you'd count that. And the Teen Titans Go movie as well. Those are some recent 2D theater releases I can think of, aside from anime and whatnot. Also I would have to disagree with you about many 3D animated films feeling dead or lazy. Just look at Spiderverse or the How to Train Your Dragon series, or anything Pixar has made. I think it's clear that a lot of love and effort goes into many 3D movies these days, with some exceptions. But I know what you mean. I also want 2D animation to make a comeback (that hand-drawn style, not the cartoon style of those tv shows).

@@hayhayluxray But aside Pixar (that always loved their movies so that's why they always makes the best ones) a lot, and I mean A LOT of 3D movies are made in a lazy way, without proper animantions, textures, or work overall. 3D it's also easier to make, and I dare say even cheaper depeding how it is, so that's why there are more movies like these, this is coming from someone that studied both 3D and tradicional 2D animantion, after the models are done 3D it's easier to edit and make, while the old 2D you have to draw everyhitng each frame, which takes way more time, but I also think it gives a lot more freedom then 3D, especially with forms
There's also the never knowing if they want to be cartoon or realistic, if you want to be a 3D cartoon so be it, it can be great! But when I see a cartoon style with realistic texture, it feels off for me. So why not make more realistic 3D ones? They can also be great! take a look at the sex.robost and love from netflix, I was mesmerized of the quality of some of them, but no, most companies still prefer to do these hybrids of cartoon/realistic just to get some cash with kids each year
I know there are great movies that are the exceptions, but I wish we could appreciate the classic 2D style movies more, Disney died to me when they closed the studio that made 2D movies, the very thing that build them, and apperantly many companies followed them

Well, for one, it was created by the spider verse creators. The same people who made a movie about spiderman dying and other multiverses.
Second, I would not go to theaters for about 1-2 hours watching a boomer movie. The reason it is not just a road trip is because nobody BUT a boomer would go watch that movie to get their point across. I enjoy the robots thing as it makes more people want to see it.

Y'know, I actually think Jungle Cruise just might be the thing that finally does what Disney has been trying to do since Pirates. It looks like just a fun little adventure flick, and that's really all people want. Plus, I gotta be honest, it took some time to really hone his skills but The Rock has become quite a good lead.

The thing that was so great about Spider-Man: into the spider verse was the unique art style but using the same one for more and more films is going to kill it off
Honestly I'd rather see this artstyle in more movies from now on.
Spiderverse isn't going to become a worse movie just because others use similar artstyles, it'll be just as great as before. And overall I do think that it is a good thing that the capabilities of what animated movies can look like is evolving instead of remaining the same, just so that one movie can remain special.
Bluelore I sort of see your point but I wouldn’t want it to get a bad reputation. You can see from the trailer that it isn’t going to be any where near as popular, good narrative or just overall decency as if I was to compare it with many other films that have released in the last decade.I do agree that the animation in movies needs to evolve but the art style fits so well with the ‘comic booky’ vibe in Spider-Man into the spider verse with the onomatopoeias appearing on screen and using a template like an actual comic book but there are so many different styles they could have used. I honestly feel like this film could improve it by using the average animation style because to me, this film doesn’t feel right like it is now, I am not saying that absolutely no films should ever use it in the future, I just think that the style should stay with a certain genre of film.

Fun fact: The movie at the time stamp, ( 14:40 ) Ghost hunters after life, was filmed in Drumheller, Alberta, Canada which is a town in Alberta, (of corse) And the coolest thing was, I was actually visiting there when they were filming it, sadly I didn’t see any of the actors, But I got to see the set ups for the movie. I didn’t see close up tho because it was blocked off, but people were painting and decorating buildings there for the movie, which is still really cool tho. ^^ ❤️
