Danai did such a masterful job with writing episode 4 that the difference in writing for episodes 5 and 6 was really noticeable. Still it was a FANTASTIC series that was respectful of the cast, crew, and audience!
I’ll be honest, it’s something I’ve worked on and practiced over a looooong period of time. It wasn’t always this way. Definitely took a ton of videos! Thank you!!!
Although the writing in the last two episodes really fell off, I still really did like the show. Going over things, Rick and Michonne are back with their family and the CRM is no longer a threat, so I guess that’s good. I just wish that it was handled a little better towards the end. I’d probably give the series an 8.5/10. Love the videos, Jerry, keep it up!
I like your brutally honest reviews. I appreciate you explaining your frustration with this show, but then also you're still going over the good stuff in it too. Your content seems to be down to earth and that's good . 😊 keep up the good work
Episode #4 was my favorite. It was a philosophically poetic approach. A huge thank you to Danai Gurira , a brilliant actress and writer, for sharing her gift. Initially, the inability of them to see each other’s reality through their lens was heartbreaking. When she presented the cell phone with Carl’s pic, I literally gasped and had to pause the video. In the end, it was so rewarding when they began to see glimpses, but never all, of the struggles and pain they each endured to physically rejoin their love and family.
I am sorry, but the reunion was Fear the Walking Dead levels. There I said it. All the way from the dialogue to the music. I liked Madison's and Alicia's hug, similar to Rick's and Judith's, but then the dialogue kicks in and omg, the hallmark levels are off the charts. Even the music of both reunions was really good, but they can't write dialogue to save their goddam daily Starbucks ventis. Both shows had the characters reunite in a small and isolated area and they pop out of nowhere. TWD in general has to put more effort in reunions tbh, all the reunions have been quite disappointing post Terminus. TWD OG group (Rick/Daryl/Carol/Maggie) better have godly reunion scenes.
I definitely would've watched all the way through, however I already watched all the reviews as they were posted so for this video I watched the intro and then cut to the final thoughts lol
We have almost the same exact feelings on the finale and I gotta say; How could they have missed the mark so hard? It feels like they ran out of money and the director quit and the actors all died and they had to recreate this shit with CGI. Its really pretentious and wooden and makes me sick to my stomach. They should have planned from the beginning to set up a second season where they make it back home and raise an army with the knowledge that they will be found and killed by the CRM. They should have kept Beale and Thorne for another season im so upset. The meeting with the kids was the worst. Was not fullfilling AT ALL! I need more interaction and set up. THE KIDS WERE LITERALLY CHILLING IN THE FIELD WAITING ON THEIR PARENTS TO SHOW UP and then they have these lil cute movie lines that were SO CHEESY. Rick and Michonne should have met with the town first and had a few smaller reunions before meeting their kids. THEY COULDVE PLAYED IT OUT. All in all it made me real sour and the show in general was a 6 out of 10 for me.

The answer to most of your questions, terrible writing. Been going downhill since s1
