- Metal detecting at several parks and beaches along the Oregon Coast with my Minelab Manticore metal detector, Xtreme sand scoop and Garrett Pinpointer.
I am nearing the end of my road trip and have really enjoyed the trip. The sights were amazing and spending time with family was priceless!

Hey Bill! You are not far from where I live in Oregon (about an hour & 15 minutes away) and what you experienced at Cannon Beach is pretty typical for the Oregon coast. Thus the reason I always take my detector with me when I vacation in FL! It rarely gets warm enough here to have many swimmers 😐

All right I am glad my home State served you well even though you had to work for it. Haven't been to the beaches yet but Oregon beaches don't have the traffic like Florida, Cali., etc. So less finds. Might pick up now that summer is here. Have a safe and relaxing rest of your trip home.

That's a lot of digging! The CH coin is Qing Dynasty, Emperor Sheng Zu (reigned 1662-1722). Massive amts of same style mold-cast coins were made for 1,000+ years so it's almost certainly not valuable unless a specialist collector needs it. Yours looks real. But obvious machine-struck replicas are now being sold as good luck charms.

Location and Luck That is all I have to say. Man those where some tough runs. You still got s bunch of clad and those tent stakes haunt you no matter where you go.. The Monster truck is what I like the most out of your hunt. A little silver is always good. Happy Hunting safe travels ..Peace

I’m laid up in bed fell off a step stool at the beginning of the month. I was still working until today when the doctor told me to only do a sit down job at work.
😢Sadly there are no sit down jobs at work.
🌞On the bright side I might heal quicker at home and resting 🤞.

Good for you, Bill when you’re at some of those old railroad places, you should find out where the encampment were you know the Asian encampment where they built those railroads or where people got off and on the trains

The flower might be an old gag squirting flower, it would be attached to a rubber bulb full of water.
Tillamook is my favorite cheese hamds down. Youve got most of the numbers nailed down for the Manticore, 900 rings up same numbers. I saw someine else recently that got a thin Chinese coin, I think its real.

Hey Bill, several years back I detected Harris Beach State Park just north of Brooking's in So. Oregon and it was the cleanest beach I have ever been too ! I covered a lot of area for hours and only found a few coins but the surprising part was not one bottle cap or pull tab. P.S. The camping there is awesome ! Keep up the good work, it's the thrill of the hunt ! Thanks, George
when ever i do fields i always bring a 5gl bucket and set by a tree so i can keep emptying my pouch.

Just a note, Bill……lately on UA-cam the blank Comment does not appear so the only way to make a comment is below someone else’s comment. Anyway, sorry your hunt was not what you had hoped but I enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the photos at the end. I used to go to Cannon Beach back in the late ‘60s and early ‘70s when I lived in Portland, OR. This brought back many happy memories so thank you!
