First rule of endgames: there is a Philidor position for everything
lol true tho
By far the best QvR endgame video I've ever watched. Some of the best and simplest explanations, most other endgame videos are either way too long and drawn out or lack concise explanations or are way too confusing to follow. You managed to turn a complex endgame into easily understandable bites without sacrificing instructional value, great job Neiksans, keep up the good work 👌
Now, try beating stockfish with your king and queen starting in opposite corners.
I have never encountered queen vs. rook endgame in an actual game but I tried it against the engine and failed miserably. 😅 I hope now I'll be able to win it thanks to your video. 😎
Thank u coach it is so simplified to grasp ❤❤
Thank you! I will just memorize all the concepts from this video.
Great video! It would be nice to see more endgame tutorials like this one.
Already k ow how to, but even nepo messed it up once so cant go wrong watching
This position is the key but reaching it can be hard against the 6th rank defense
Amazing video as always
It will be very helpful to get more videos like these❤❤
Nice instructive content
Thank you very much for making this video! I remember asking for it on your twitch. It's really helpful and very concise too 🔥🔥🔥
Love knowledgeable videos under 15 mins
love the consistency
Everything after reaching Philidor's position is easy but I don't see how anything is "easy" before that. General recommendations in this video are good but it just flies through the moves without much thought.
Thank you! I’m improving quick but need to work on my endgames as games going longer now since my higher rate opponents don’t always lose in first 5-15 moves anymore as much haha
Super helpful man
Thanks for a video, can you explain how to win with Knight&Bishop against king
Interesting. I just finished a series of videos myself on this endgame and, in fact, my last video on it was about how underrated this endgame may be. If we consider it is a very hard endgame and that it can show up from a R+P vs R or R+P vs R+P or even R vs P, then there are opportunities being missed over there for extra half-points. Also recently Nepo was not able to win this Queen vs Rook against Magnus and they drew the game :)
I am not sure how easy it is. Peter Svidler couldn't beat Boris Gulko in a candidates match in this ending.
@@huddunlap3999 I tried to make it easy :)
Is there a Philidor position for losing all your games. It's one aspect of chess I think I have truly mastered. 😅
Thanks. I was looking for Q vs R endgame. Can we get Knight vs Rook next?
So basically you should put your king to the opposite color than the opponent's king, so that your king doesn't block your queen from delivering diagonal checks to your opponent.
And my video is just about 2 hours 💀
Can you also do knight and bishop mate? Haven’t seen a single good video on that yet.
