I think you caught exactly what I’m feeling with Coach too. The absolute fatigue of the collections - who can keep up? Forget having few heritage bags that they stick behind and perfect. I really loved the bags from last fall, I feel they did some of their best work and I’m going to be sticking with these bags for a good while until Coach calms down.

And my wallet is happy I stopped caring for the current styles that are so expensive and the leather quality is meh. I have over 30 vintage Coach bags I like updating the bags with new Coach charms. And yes, the upcrafted section is Bananas, I often wander who spends this much money for a bag.
I am currently mad at coach, how last year they had the faded blue boutique color launch 2023, not 2024 new outlet bag color faded blue, or the entire surf mint thing, coach is coach but I am now at the point I don't trust them at all. They say limited edition, and i don't believe it.
This all day!!!! They redo the retail themes at outlet. Which I'm not mad at, but am mad when I would have just waited for certain pieces for cheaper at outlet when they look very similar.

I‘m more of a Marc Jacob’s Fan myself but I do have 3 Coach items, one huge jaccard Tote I bought is definitely my favorite not only does it look great but the quality is unbelievable! ❤😊
Coach isn't the only brand raising prices and lowering quality. Actual luxury brands have been doing this too (issues with Chanel, LV, etc). As long as people are buying these brands while they do this, they have no incentive to improve the quality of their items. Coach is not a luxury brand- they have an outlet and send bags to TJ Max, Marshalls, etc. If they want to come off at a luxury brand, they need to get rid of all of this. I will never buy Coach at full price because I know it will go on sale at department stores or their outlet when the deletes get sent there.
Yup, I’ve purchased Coach since the 1970’s. Wonderful old bags. I bought a bag last year from the website. When I received it, I had to double check that it was leather. It felt like plastic. And I would like to add, I hate the big C on the clasp.
Great video all true, that's why I'm back to dooney because the quality is amazing. Florentine Italian leather but limited styles and the bags are heavy so I just stick to a wristlet or crossbody

I got super lucky and was able to stack my credits for my sold back bags and that was the only thing that made selling them back worth it. Had no idea they weren’t supposed to be stacked and my store had no idea…until someone probably got in trouble for doing it. - Also learned that if you change your mind about a purchase made with a relove credit, you are SOL. And if you change your mind after the selling transaction is completed, you are also SOL. - For the money Coach is making off most of these amateur art projects, I would think Coach would be nicer to the customers.
I agree about the quality decline. I bought the hampton bag and the hardware came scratched, and the leather is thin with a weird chemical smell. I kept it because I got it on sale, but I don't plan on buying any new pieces.

European newbie brands that have come out within the last 10 years that offer inferior leather, craftsmanship, and zero heritage or the super expensive "luxury" brands. Not $500 for the outlet cosmetic travel case, lol. I literally laughed out loud when you revealed the price, and also when you said "um ... you deserve jail", lol. It was $650 USD for the 'upcrafted' full size Sammy I got; they put rivets along the edge and I thought it looked pretty cool, except that it had a blue ink pen stain on it, so had to go back. But yes, at least 50% of the upcrafted stuff is quite tacky and crazily priced.
After watching coach over the years, your complaints was the sound similar to when coach died off. I lost interest in them during the die off and haven’t gone back. But Dooney and Bourke has my heart. They were my first luxury bag brand.
Coach is getting Shaddy! LOL Cheapen the leather, sell high end priced items at Outlet cause they know most will not go into retail, but yet there is the bait to bite. You have to be very knowledgeable of the brand to know what is worth your money and what is not. I'm waiting for the release of the Coach tabby time square. But I don't want to be fooled. When they came up with the Quilted tabby, it was sold out very rapidly, then they produced more, and more, and more, and I have the feeling they will end up on the Sale. They need to come up with a better strategy to preserver their designs, avoid product saturation. Get out of department stores and focus on quality. The new rogues with endge painting, that was a disgusting move to short cut on cost, and speed production. Also, the repair cost are outrageous. I have a five years old Metropolitan push lock bag in beautiful slouchy think pebble leather, but it needs the edge paint to be redone, and they charge. $120 usd, that is ridiculous. I'm thinking on sending it to leather surgeons to upcraft the handles with leather trimming, rather than endge painting. Something coach refuses to do.
I hate how they have cheapened the rogues! Everytime I go into a coach store lately I tell them that they need to share with HQ how that is a bad move. Rogue is a very popular piece. Not the place to cut cost.
Rogues are my Jam but I am NOT a fan of them making them with flat straps instead of the nice raised ones. I also am not a fan of some of the hardware lately feeling a little bit lighter and cheaper. Is it just me? I miss the mostly Brass fittings, they've gone alot to the silver instead. Maybe it's just me. I agree also agree about the leather quality.
I’ve noticed the huge price increase with Coach. I don’t appreciate it, but what are you gonna do if you love the merchandise? I am a retail shopper only. I do understand why retail won’t repair outlet. Outlet quality is lower than retail, so maybe they cannot be sure of the outcome if they try to repair a lower quality item.
That IS an interesting point how ever, even when it comes to vintage Outlet bags, bags that are better made than retail bags are currently, they still won’t touch it. I tried to bring in a beautiful Hampton Outlet bag from 2008 into the store to get a couple pins added to it. And took one look at the Coach creed patch and said “sorry we dont do Outlet”. So I do believe its more them trying to retain a specific image, rather than it coming down to quality concerns. Not much one can do other than wait for cute sales 🙈👜🖤
Okay, Coach has lost its damn mind! $500 USD for that travel kit? I miss the old Coach. I haven't been to the SQ1 store since before the pandemic and to hear that Coach has changed so much is sad.
I sold back my never used pink legacy demi to Coach. The prices were lower when it came out so I didn’t get much. - When the bag was listed as a customized bag, Coach sold it for $575 and added super tacky animal stripes on the leather. Just made me sad.
Hey Scott, I totally agree with you. They have to get their blank together if they want to be taken seriously. Like this their customers may look elsewhere. For example I’ve become interested in some French brands that are high quality and have reasonable prices compared to LV and are priced more like Coach. I now have some in my collection. As much as I am aware other brands do the same thing, doesn’t make it okay for Coach to do the same. I don’t look at high end luxury brands such as LV and Chanel. Comparing Coach to its counterparts, they ARE releasing alot more product at an overwhelming rate. They can slow down by half and really work on pushing the envelope for its customers and working its way through to high end luxury. Its just an opinion, will any brand ever listen? Doubtful.

The brand new glove-tanned Coach 26 Rogue East-West is the best thing they've put out in YEARS! But I agree with everything else you've stated!

I would hunt for a vintage Soho bag, the leather is better on the older ones. I agree the new pricing doesn’t always match the quality.

1. Get rid of the Outlet. Made for outlet items really diminish the brand.
