I hope in the future we, in north america can form a better relationship with Russia. Perhaps with more travel between the two we can share our growing Vegan movement.

I share the same opinion. I'm from Quebec in Canada. There is a lot of canadians from russian origin in my region. I would like us to have more cultural exchanges and a better understanding of each other, but the cultural situation here isn't really advanced. I'm glad veganism grows in Europe and Russia as much of our culture is influenced by what's developped in the old countries. I would like to live in a cosmopolite vegan village or city one day with people from around the world. Maybe we would be able to build a network of cities. Where we can share each other take on veganism and go on with the vegan struggles for the animals.

im from the moscow aria but i live in illinois, in america. the problem is not us as people getting along (even though we all have people that just have hate in their hearts and are just sheep), its out governments. we as people need to realize were all humans, were all earthlings. we should not identify ourselves as some one from a country, rather we should all see each other the same way, no matter were we are born. then we must all rise up againsed out governments that start all these wars that no one wants.
this is why i think people in all countries need to get 3d printers and start making arms. we have the second amendment in america wich lets us even make our own guns but people from other countries need to also be able to protect themselves and have a fighting chance.

Wow, thank you so much. I learned so much. You are amazing. To be a vegan in a country where veganism is a bit behind some English speaking countries.
Despite from being a Canadian Hindu family, I still have to face disapprovals and lectures as a vegan at family gatherings. My family is not even vegetariaians. But many times of the year, they fast and abstain from non-vegetarians products except milk. They all love milk to death.

@@manga626 Hello, I understand your concern about your family milk consumption. I engaged my aging family members into drinking more soy based milk produces and tea, as drinking tea without milk helps to prevent cognitive decline while aging and soy helps with menopause. It's also part of my vegan feminism engagement. I must thank you as part of the canadian hindu population for all your community has brought to the country and the vegan population, as can-indians were providing vegan options far before the big corporate chain restaurants. It was more difficult back than and we learned a lot about how to take care of ourselves thanks to your cultural contribution. Milk also impairs the gut microbiote to be healthy and to provides its services to our organisms. Tea will helps to restore it. I wish you a happy and healthy vegan life.

I don't know much about Stalin...? Why were vegetarians sent to prison. :-( And that I heard that for a while in the Soviet Union, vegetarianism was "banned" (I don't know if that is the right word.) I heard that there was an encyclopedia article that described vegetarianism as a pseudo science and that there were no vegetarians in the Soviet Union. I don't know if. That is not true, I don't have a 1961 USSR Encyclopedia with me. Haha.

Russian Vegan Girl if you could find me a Russian link for some of the good brands of vegan cheese I can show the owner of my local Slavic food store and see what she thinks. She ordered a kvass once because I brought it up and was able to find a good link. She then thought it was a pretty good idea. I ended up thinking the kvass from Israel she already sold before was better; they both have their positives. I have had kvasses that are the same brand though that each bottle tastes different too so yeah. I prefer homemade kvass these days anyway. I would rather buy a loaf of bread and make kvass than buy bottled kvass.

It's still very difficult to access real good vegan cheeses that are made with nourishing ingredients in many places of the world. We have to stay vigilants not to get into food deserts, regions were there is not enough nutritious food for us to eat. I know that russia grew a lot of sunflowers, so maybe they can make their own sunflower seeds cheese some day. There is many recipes availible in french that I may translate for you if you can't access these informations elsewhere.
It's important to mostly choose cheeses made of nuts and plant proteins over the fake cheese made to replace cheese taste.

Cows were never ‘’treated well’’ for Dairy because the Male Calf’s are surplus to requirements of Dairy production, so they have to be slaughtered either straight after birth or when fattened for their flesh. This is unavoidable as they can’t keep all the Male Calf’s for all their life it would be economically unviable. 🌻🌎✊🏽

I have no doubt that they treat their cows well! But most of the Krishna people I know regularly buy cow's milk from a supermarket thus directly supporting cruelty to cows they claim to worship and calves. Some of them even promote it saying "It's better to buy supermarket milk than no milk at all, it's so important for your spiritual development". Like yeah!

My logic is very simple. Cat milk for kitten , dog milk for puppy , so cow milk must be for calf , not human. Drinking cow milk unnatural and unhealthy. Cow milk is simply "liquid beef" . Human is only species that drink other species's milk.
