So glad to see Dr. Eleanor back on HH. I will watch anything she presents, read anything she writes. She is the reason I finally developed an interest in medieval history.
I visited my grandmother in Stafford, she live in a narrow row housing built in the late 1800’s. The layout was a very long hall from the entrance to the kitchen at the back. Rooms were off to the side similar to the Harry Potter layout of a trains interior. I was talking to my grandma next to the hallway door when I heard 3 loud footstep on the other side of the door. I immediately opened the door and look ed both ways down the hallway. My granny said not to worry its just the ghost. Apparently the ghost used to play the piano when they had one in the front parlour.
@@summerrose9565 No she had a family of 5 and they lived with it. My father snd uncle talked about it as if it was normal. Near the end of her life in her 80’s she would tell me my grandfather would come and visit her most nights.
We had a ghost in an old wardrobe when we were kids. Cos we grew up with it we thought nothing off it. As we got older and other kids used to visit it scared the sh!t out of them. The wardrobe door would slam open, pretty hard sometimes, and then the door to the room would open. NO chance of it being wind blowing them cos the bedroom doors weighed a ton and were SLIDING doors... A friend up the road used to have a ghost that pushed you down the stairs on the top flight, they used to have a rope across half way to catch you, you had to duck under it. Im not even a "believer" as such - just an acceptor. Its how we grew up. Never had anything similar since we got rid of the wardrobe when I was about 16.
I had the chance to stay at chillingham castle recently. Lovely place but didn’t feel anything bad or experience any hauntings. All hyped up. Still, if you like scenic landscapes and a quiet place to stay, then it’s worth it.
It is for real. I lived by myself in a two-bedroom home in Menlo Park, California for 18 years and always wondered about its past. During the last four years all kinds of paranormal activity took place. Dresser drawers would be opened fully, objects were moved from one room to the other, my house flip-flops would be removed from the front entrance and placed in another area OCD perfectly parallel to the wood floorboards. Rubber bands were removed from the utility drawer and placed as a bundle on the kitchen floor with a tomato next to it. In a wall I heard the running steps of a child followed by the laughing of a little girl.
The older the building, the more residual energy it would keep from the past. I wouldn't be surprised if Chillingham Castle has that many ghosts. Loved taking the spooky tour with you.
The ghost sightings always take place in buildings and ships. But never in auto junkyards. Even though this would be a susceptible place for them. Since there are many vehicles whose occupants met an untimely death.
But maybe there’s no sightings in auto junkyards because no has thought to go. I think you’re absolutely correct that it would make sense to look there. 👍
Warkworth castle has been my favourite place in the world since I was a kid over 30 years ago! I live not too far from there. If anywhere in warkworth is haunted it will more likely be the old church on the river due to border reiver attacks on the town.
Ever notice that ghosts are extremely clumsy? They never pick up a pencil and write something intelligent. Instead they knock over salt shakers and slam windows shut.
It would be extremely difficult for a deceased soul to manipulate a pencil and physically write.. any messages on walls or audible voices seem to be from darker entities who are not, and never were human. Be very cautious with ouija board communication. Like the Internet, is this person who they claim to be? Is this a fake account? Am I being targeted?
This is great! Loads of nuggets of history early on, then the ghosties after. I don't think the phantoms in this castle are particularly terrifying, I can't see the tourist board allowing spectres that make people eat thier own hands or listen to an entire 'Wet Wet Wet' album.. Whoops! Have I just incurred the wrath of a Chillingworth Scottish Ghostie? Hope they don't tour. Great video! One to keep. 🌟👍

There are two kinds of hauntings, ghosts and demons. I've had experience with both. The ghosts are souls doing time in Purgatory, being cleansed of the imperfections and sins they died with before they enter Heaven, because nothing that is not perfect enters Heaven. Just a few months ago, I helped end a haunting by a World War II vet who had been residing in an old Army barracks (convert into a civilian home) for at least 75 years. I asked Our Lord Jesus if it was okay to "bring the ghost home with me," in a manner of speaking, which is to say that I asked if I could guide the ghost to my church to come live there and be with Our Lord there until he was ready to go to heaven, and Our Lord said yes. And it worked. I talked to the ghost, explained his situation - because many ghosts do not understand their state, why they are neither in Heaven nor Hell - and told him that Our Lord said that he could come be with Our Lord now. And now he lives happily in my church. It's the last stop before Heaven for these poor Wandering Souls. The whole point of that story is to tell you that hauntings are supposed to end eventually, with the ghost going to Heaven. So I guess your house is just not haunted anymore. And the entire reason that God allows hauntings is so that people can pray for the spirit and help it get to Heaven quicker. Once the prayers are no longer needed, the haunting ends.
I have experience with both ghosts and demons. If it's not causing tension and problems, it's a ghost, and it needs your help. That's the entire reason that God allows them to manifest in the first place. The thing is, nothing that isn't perfect enters Heaven, so if somebody dies and isn't perfect, they have to wait to get in and have to go through a purification process. We can help speed that along by praying for them. "Burt" needs your prayers.
