Showcasing many varieties of tacos is right up my alley! El Pescadito is a must visit indeed. Favorite tacos I had in Mexico City...
- camarones fritos (fried shrimp)
- chocinita pibil (stewed pork)
- suadero (it's a specific cut of beef)
- doneraki (it's the trompo style that actually predates al pastor)
- lengua (tongue)

*_El Greco_* is around the corner from Tacos Hola. Mother to son taqueria that's been open for 50 years. Don't quote me but I think I recall that they introduced *_tacos Arabes_* to CDMX from Puebla of course. Slightly different spices and tortilla than the typical al pastor.
*_El Tizoncito_* - Speaking of al pastor, did you two happen to try Tizoncito? They are credited for "inventing" al pastor and have a few locations. The original is in Zona Rosa I believe.
Of course! We walked past it and I had it noted down to eat there but we ran out of time. I also thought to myself it's not the end of the world if we miss out as we will eat tacos Arabes in Puebla and film it 😝 Haven't made it to El Tizoncito! What's it like?
El Tizoncito was tasty. I had one al pastor taco nearly every time I saw a trompo and I rated Tizoncito near the top but not top three. Still, quite good obviously. However, I have much love for Tizoncito because the staff were super cool. I easily make conversation especially since I enjoy going to restos at off peak hours but these folks were memorable. 👍
*cochinita pibil: roasted not stewed in banana leaves w/ sour orange, achiote, vinegar etc...
Suadero: brisket or plate meat confit in a discado w/ longaniza, chorizo, etc etc...

Kellie, I'm sorry to say but you really need to travel to Mexico in order to try real mexican food, I live in LA and there is tons of mexican restaurants here but not one compares/comes close to the goodness of the food in Mexico, once or twice a year I pack a change of clothes catch a plane & go to Mexico City "just to eat" I spend less than $1000.00dlls including flight room, food and beer for 7 days, just went there this past June and had an amazing awesome time and can't wait for next time.
@@lxgnzlz7976 im sure your very right there. Its never the same as going to the country of origin for a particular countries cuisine and id love to go to Mexico one day. Unfortunately im a bit further away than LA as i live in Australia but since my trip to Korea last year i have caught the travel bug so im sure I'll get the sometime in this lifetime. Im off to Vietnam and Cambodia next year

Oh, man...it's been too long since I went to Mexico! When I lived in San Diego, California, we used to slide over the border on a weekend to go to the horse or dog races. Right across the street from the track, there was an amazing restaurant that had a 100 gallon copper cauldron out front, where they would make carnitas all day. My mouth is flooding, remembering the flavor of the tacos. I really enjoyed watching this video, and will stock up on Mexican foods for the rest of the series!

3:38 it’s not guacamole, that’s a green salsa made with tomatillo and serrano peppers with cilantro (never coriander) then you add a few avocados while your blending everything together

People, I’ve been to El Pescadito and, lemme tell you, those are some DELICIOUS seafood tacos. Also, if you wanna try the most juicy, succulent, and flavorful carnitas tacos in all of Mexico City you should hit up a place called Tacos El Gran Abanico. Trust me. You will not regret it. And you will thank me. 😂🤷🏽♂️

It was actually a Saturday on the day we visited and they close early- at around 2pm which is why they were almost all out! I believe they’re open until 9pm during the week! 😄

I think Mexican food is similar to Middle Eastern food. Mexican tacos remind me of shawarma and doner kebab (gyro for the Greeks) which are meat sandwiches wrapped in very thin bread. In Mexico pita bread is not used, but tortilla. But the concept seems to be the same.

Thanks Sheena. Mexico received a lot of immigrants from Lebanon in the 60's...Unfortunately I've never been in México, but I'm sure that lebanese immigration has impacted local food. Immigrants always enrich local food.
Absolutely they do! In fact it was the Lebanese in the 1890s who brought the style of kebab cooking to Mexico 😄 it morphed from using lamb meat to pork to suit local tastes. So interesting! 😄
Tortilla its pure mexican, we had it even before the Spanish people came to conquer mexico. It may be similar but i tacos are originally from Mexico.

Sheena, pico de gallo is pronounced as pico de "gai yo". Two l's in a word in the Spanish language is pronounced as a "y", just like quesadilla is pronounced as quesa-di-ya. Just thought you'd want to know.

I remember that Mexico was one of the first places you did UA-cam videos on. I love the blend of the ingredients in tacos. I've never had the chance to eat authentic tacos since we're in this part of the world but I'm pretty sure I'll need lots of the chilli (whether from sauces or the salsas).

You get sick when they don't dissinfect the cilantro, that's what make you go sick, and you have to be VERY careful with salsas by trying a little drop first in your hand uf you don't want to irritate your stomach, then you 'll know later how much you can take.
