I carried an aluminum liliput for years before misplacing it.. I’d always wanted a heavier version and wished it were a little fatter. Ended up with a steel supra that I carry in short mode with a clip from a flashlight that ended up being a perfect fit.

I had seen Liliputs in a stationary store I visit now and then but I never even asked the employees to show it to me. I thought it was too thin, too short and, above all, too expensive. Today I went to another subsidiary of the same store and saw the green Liliput with 50% off. I asked to handle it, I liked it and I bought it. I haven’t inked it yet but I hope it finds a place in my rotation. Nice review.

I have smaller hands, admittedly. I got this green pen about a month ago, and I really like writing with it. I use the fine nib it came with, because the ink lasts longer flowing through a fine nib. Wow, with a 1.5 stub nib, I’d guess you go through cartridges pretty quickly! My only issue with this little green pen is because it is so lightweight that I barely know it’s with me. I’ve nearly left it behind a bunch of times because it’s practically weightless. I’ve never had a hard start problem with mine.

I've been carrying a copper liliput for about a year and a half. Great pen for the few times a day I need a pen.

I've been carrying my Zebra G-450 banded inside the notebook in the right edge gap of my Midori Traveler's Passport EDC rig; it fits exactly perfectly and is a better writer than the Zebra F-701 and feels so much better in the hand.

Another option... consider the Ohto Tasche FF-10T. I also want to keep my Midori Passport EDC notebook set-up slim; I think it's a better fit for what you want to accomplish.

I can confirm you can use the Kaweco Squeeze Bulb Converter in this pen though filling it is an absolute pain. Haven't tried the mini piston but suspect it wont fit. I'd flush the pen a few times and see if that helps with the hard starting.

Agreed. I’ve used both the bladder squeeze bulb and the cartridge. To solve the pain, I use a syringe to flush the bladder and to fill. Used plastic cartridge? Same drill. Both work well

I've been thinking about picking up the Traveler's Company Brass fountain pen, which appears to be about the same size as the Liliput. I have a Kaweco Sport and have the same problems you had with hard starts.

The Brass Fountain Pen is both wider and heavier than the Liliput, but I've had good success using the Brass Fountain Pen with the pen loop built in to Galen Leather's passport-sized wallet insert. I've also used the Liliput with this pen loop, but find this requires the optional clip to keep it secure in the loop because of the Liliput's slenderness.

I know I'l late to the party on this, but I shared your frustration with a fountain pen for the passport or field notes size books. I use a Kaweko Sport or Al Sport. I just slip it in under the band, between the covers in the openside. It makes it a little wider but sits nicely inline with the journal.

Just picked one up! Not the most comfy pen ever, but perfect for my edc-kit

If you find the Liliput a good size for your Midori, but don’t love the tack of texture, you could try the ēnsso xs. I have both pens. The ēnsso cap pops off though instead of twisting, which makes for more of a quick draw pen. Also it’s faceted instead of round and I do like that feel in the hand.

I own the brass one (which has taken a nice patina over time) an I love it 👌🏻

Thank you for your videos - I enjoy them very much 👍
I like the Liliput (beautiful design), but given that the clip slides if pushed too hard and how many times you need to twist to uncap, post, unpost & recap, it makes it [for me] dangerous for street / public transport usage. I fear the clip or the cap will slip and fly away. I do use it, though, in safe note-taking circumstances.
I've discovered the Traveler's Brass Fountain Pen. The clip is integrated, and it snaps on, off, to post & unpost.
Just a very small tad longer than the Liliput.
If you've not tried it, it may fit your need.

My experience with Kaweco stub nibs is that they tend to hard-start. I'm thinking the feed has something to do with it. My Kaweco Sports seem to run on the drier side.
Are you sure you wanted a small pen, and not a slender one? I still think Lamy CP1 may be worth a look.

If you get the liliput I advise getting either the copper or brass one, I disadvise getting the aluminium ones. It's too light.
With such small pens you'd want to get them in the heaviest material available (in this case copper) it really helps with the mental feeling of substance.
And yes they're tiny, maybe just too tiny, I have size 11 gloves and capped it's almost the same length as my index finger 😅
Not at all unusable tho even with big paws.

Was hoping you'd have a Fisher space pen to compare it to. It looks like it would be about that size.
