best car ive ever owned. its got torque thats crazy. the turbo is freakin awesome and the passing gear is like warp speed fast. I know its a FIVE cylinder i know right but its quicker than my ford 6 cylinder Taurus. I strongly feel like im in an elite club being a owner. ha ha i own a c70.
I bought my 2008 model in early 2009. As they were "closing-out" the previous model year, I was able to purchase at 38,000 USD. I live on the Gulf of Mexico in Texas, which is blessed with many sunny days for driving with the top down. Therefore, I'm using the retraction motor often and have never faced any issue. The car runs as strong as when first purchased even though I've put almost 40,000 miles on it thus far. I love mine and hope no issues arrise.
topgeartim Hey there. I’m embarrassed to say that I totaled the Volvo in 2012 and then bought a used Dodge Charger R/T that I’ve had since then. I never had any problem with the Volvo other than destroying it, but couldn’t afford to get back into one. Loved it ! I can’t say that I don’t enjoy my Charger. They are just different joys.
@@lx7x7xl Okay wow amazing! Surprised to hear that you enjoy a charger since I've heard the quality isn't great in those. Sorry to hear about the Volvo. I'm looking to get one, either this or the older version, but I'll have to see though. Thanks for the follow up!
@@topgeartim My Volvo also came stock with a Dyn Audio sound system that was just the most fantastic audio I've seen come stock in a vehicle. 14 point surround system including quadraphonic ability. I had a Jimi Hendrix Electric Ladyland disc on heavy rotation. Being a modest person, I had to turn down my system at stops and coming into neighborhoods.
@@lx7x7xl Oh wow haha. Yes, I've read up on the dynaudio system in the C70. Seems like a killer system! Would be awesome if I end up with one installed. Haven't seen too many. Also though, the premium system in the mk1 isn't bad either. I'm sure it's not even close to the dynaudio but not bad
I've got the 2008 C70 T5 and get about 34 mpg on the highway at 65 mph. If I push it slightly up in speed the motor drinks fuel crazily. For example: at 75 mph it gets appx 28 mpg. I do frequent oil changes but not simply getting it done every 3000 miles; more like every 5000 or when the oil loses it new appearance.
One thing I have troubling finding out about this car is its reliability, I really want one but given that I'm driving an Acura right now I'm not likely to find something more reliable, so anyone had big problems with a Volvo, or a huge success story of no failures?

The shark scene was edited out.
WTF is with the ominous music in this video? Hahaha
Wish they'd lose that goddamn music. This ain't no Hollydwood feature.
