    Santana may be a little envious of this but very pleased for sure.

    Who in the world were the couple of folks who clicked dislike on this video?!? Probably a couple of players who can't do the things that Johnny does on the Sax. Rock on Johnny :)

      you'll never know because they don't have the guts to announce who or why

    • @Baboon4215
      @Baboon4215 8 років тому

      +nr3rful Exactly. They can't be happy for a player like Johnny whose doing things that they can''t do on their Sax; they can't help but look for some reason to dislike it because his playing is too good for their taste :) Haters are just that, haters--It's sad but they're out there. It's usually best to just ignore them because they have nothing better to do with their time....they should use their time to get better at their own playing.

      They have no taste or appreciation for good jazz. They need to go back to Lawrence Welk

    Hi Johnny, enjoy your playing and lessons. I see the Colin James records on the wall in the background and it reminds me of the time I saw you perform in Kenora, Ontario back in 1988. I believe it was just a few months before the release of your first record with Colin James in 1989. I remember talking to you and Colin between sets that night and was blown away over the bands performance. Your solo on ' Why'd You Lie ' is still one of all time favourites. That song has such a great groove and vibe to it. Actually heard Colin mention in an interview once that there was a take of that song that got erased by the engineer or tape operator where you recorded it in Florida. Colin seemed to think it was the best take that got lost forever,... hard to believe there was a better take than the one that made the record. Do you still record and or perform with Colin James?

      don't work with him anymore, saw him recently, we're still good friends but are doing different things. I remember those early days, it was a very good band and we had a lot of gigs and a lot of fun. I don't remember a take being erased....I do remember I hated my solo but they wouldn't let me do it again. now when I hear it it seems ok, guess I got used to it. thanks for your kind words.

      +Graham Mitchell Hey Graham, I've heard of those as one of my students was playing one but never tried one myself. For my preferred tone I rely on the brightness and open tone of Guardala mp's. I have a comparison video on 4 models:
