I completely agree with you on wanting to fish the back country to get away from it all. It's awesome to be the only one in an area and have all the fish to yourself. Keep it up man, I love the snook videos.
Its cool that you have that secluded area for yourself. Even when I'm in our "backcountry" there is a plethera of kayaks and boats. I don't mind the respectful ones too much, but i do wish I could escape sometime..lol Good video man
It's always good to get away from the hustle and bustle of people, to be able do some back country fishing. The skip casting made a huge difference in being able to land fish. Nice.
Great Job, as always Lawson! Totally resemble that "old man" remark, lol. Those Keitech swimbaits rock ! I use 3"-5" sizes alot overlapping bass use with saltwater use. Have started using Zoom boot-tail Super Fluke and Super Fluke Jrs instead of the Keitech for salt use (better bang for the buck, $3.99 or so), use the Keitech for bass fishing. I like that you've started sharing/analyzing your gear choices in your videos, helps those who might not know better why you chose what you did to fish with and how you fished it (Mirridines vs. Keitechs under the mangroves for instance)!! Boot-tail swimbaits fished weightless on the EWGs (or frog hooks) you mentioned are great topwater baits!! How about a vid on how you'd fish for spec trout or reds from shore, I know that's popular since many your age don't have access to boats?
Hey bro i used to have a flats boat and unfortunately had to sell it and miss it like crazy but watching your videos makes me feel like im out there ypu should start doing more explaining as in what tackle you are using and lures and stuff keep up the good work
I'm new to Florida and saltwater fishing. I agree with you on fishing snook in the back country. It is a better experience but I seem to have better luck fishing boat docks. Any tips on how to find them in the back country? Everywhere looks fishy in the back country. Also, what line and rod reel set ups do you use for fishing docks and seawalls? I really enjoy your channel. Thanks.
Hey Lawson ,u should try to come down to the Everglades , even more peaceful there's have been days I've been out there with no human contact the whole day ,as long as u have a float plan and a gps u should be fine , it's a lot more buggy but worth the experience
Man I totally get not being around others when I go fishing. I fish fr shore and will not fish my spot if others r there. I don’t go to inlets or piers for that very reason.
Peyton Tanner You dont need anything Special, Maybe Just a Kayak If your experienced with fishing off the them. But with the Kayak It all depends on what your targeting, Your not gonna want to catch a shark off a kayak, But Try looking into that and A Little john Boat!
sorry for taking so long to respond to this I never saw this comment. It all depends what you are willing to spend i suppose. Kayaks are a good easy choice but can be a real pain to fish out of. They make a boat called a solo skiff that is a combo paddle board and boat essentially that are really cool and low price but I have never used any before. A company called Ankona makes small flats boats that a really cool and simple as well.
Great video as always man. Head over to Dick's sporting goods and grab you a thermacell and some extra pads and butane. Leave that sucker on the boat and crank it on when the bugs get bad. You won't have anymore problems with them. They are a must have in the backwaters and woods
Lawson try to use someday the spooltek 9", cant get better than that, it costs $20 but trust me its worth it, i bouth it yesturday and today i went fishing in the morning, in the tenth cast i got a 35in snook, at key biscayne beach. I was shocked.
hell yeah. but the slot limit where im at (mosquito lagoon) is 28"-32", which is pretty challenging. and the season is very short. plus you need to purchase a separate permit to harvest one. (youre allowed 1 per person per day during the season)

Do a boat tour.

A video of some monster snook from Juno pier would be cool, the pier is holding so many giant snook right now.
Hey Lawson what was the swim sit you where using?
Awesome vid, mangrove fishing is the best! Would love to see you target some Jacks sometime. Keep up the vids +1
man, cant wait to move out of chicago and get down to florida. great channel dude, tight lines!
I'm telling you, once you fished in Florida it spoils you
Silver King_Slayer It really does 😂

Lovin the vids man keep it up
Love your videos. You do a great job. What factors helped you determine that they may be pushed under cover?
They seek cover from the current, and as an ambush point. Mangrove skipping is super efficient for barracuda, mangrove snapper too.
What part of Florida are u in
What trolling motor do u have

You should try throwing a fly back there! awesome content as always
I'm dying to throw some flies at tarpon and snook back there. Any suggestions on what flies to throw for tarpon?
When you trying to go ?
Good job...
im with ya on the non inlet fishing too
what affordable boat's would you recommend for a young teen who wants to get on t the mangroves and the docs and such ?

You should mention what time of year your doing the videos.
+Greg Westhoff whatever the date says when posted is when it is. I typically posted the videos the day after I film them
Hey Lawson, great video! One question though, wanted to know what swimbait that was , keitech?
+AC Fishing yeah it was keitech I'm not sure what the exact color was though.
+AC Fishing yeah it was keitech I'm not sure what the exact color was though.
We got to try the tarpon bite at sun set one night
And a suggestion is cast net some live mullet or live bait and go fish an inlet iv'e caught snook, tarpon, and jacks in my inlet(st lucie inlet)
Hey I'm about half hour by boat from there. Live on the St. Lucie River.
Which do you prefer most, bass or snook
I prefer snook, they fight much harder and just get bigger. Bass are just fun though because all of the different ways you can fish for them.
I throw decievers and clausers mostly in a dark color in the back country and white anywhere the vis is more than a foot or two
awesome dude, thank you. I am going to start throwing some flies soon.
Gongrats Lawson you went fishing with lunkerstv, ap basin, and Jon b😎
another good vid man

Spooltek are the best
+Da300snook yeap, no doubt
Do you use a swivel or tie ons?
Bet it's a line to line knot, e.g. uni, albright, fg.
Are snook good to eat?
hell yeah. but the slot limit where im at (mosquito lagoon) is 28"-32", which is pretty challenging. and the season is very short. plus you need to purchase a separate permit to harvest one. (youre allowed 1 per person per day during the season)
Do you catch a lot of tarpon or a few or none
none really. I don't try for them very often, but I defiantly need to change that.
is the e6x a 6-12 pound 1/8-3/8
+Chris Finch 4-8 lbs 1/8-3/8
I love that gear sound
Third Eye Blind, lol.
hey man maybe u can fish in fort lauderdale
reaction innovations skinny dipper and little dipper. check them out.
his daddy paid for everything.....
Ha, and your point is? I mean what does that have anything to do with anything. Seems to me your mad cause you aren't catching fish.
