I do love your humor! That little gasp then "gorgeous!" absolutely tickled me. Always nice to see your personality come through while giving us such amazing makeup related info!
I loved the "Right, let's wash this shit off!" 😂 You are the only person who I listen to for makeup advice! You always get to the point, make it easy to understand, and agree with my views: less is more, and a natural look is best! ❤
Really enjoy your videos, but what about us with extremely dry and sensitive skin? Might you do a video on how we should apply foundation to over 70 fragile skin?
I use this technique when applying my bb cream every morning, and it works very well for me. Thanks Wayne, for teaching us how to apply our bb cream, foundation, etc. You are the best!
Canadian here...loving the moose on your shirt!!! Also loving this technique...it went on beautifully, going to give it a go. Thanks Wayne for always keeping it lighthearted... even in difficult seasons. Great content as always. ❤j
When I used Estee Lauder DW back in my slavery days it was the only thing what stayed all day/all night but can look like a good mask. For skinlike finish I used 1 drop of argan oil( non comedogenic thinner oil) mixed in or glycolic acid toner under my moisturizer. Actually whatever foundation or powder I use with glycolic acid, it gives such a healthy dewy glow.
I have dry skin also, but I also have a question. While he doesn't say so I'm left with a strong impression that he's putting this on skin with no moisturizer on it. Do you think it will still work if you put moisturizer on it first? I'm going to give it a try.
@@sballantine8127 i think if we are really good with our skincare, itll look good on most of our face. Im finding out that less (foundation) is better looking on my skin. But maybe its just cuz I havent quite found a moisturizer that actually goes well with my skin
@@sballantine8127 As someone with dry skin I probably wouldn't even with moisturizer. It's just too much friction and likely to pull up more dry skin flakes. I know Wayne hates it, but I use a flat brush and long downward or side-to-side (on the forehead) motions. Otherwise, it's flake city no matter what.
I'm trying this technique tomorrow. It's going to be 110*F here for the next ten days or so, and I've been desperately trying to figure out how to do my makeup so I still have some perfecting, but without it looking and feeling heavy. Thank you!
Wayne, I have dry/normal skin .. but predominantly dry skin .. and I have been using this method for the last 4 months or so and it is perfect .. BUT what I do is pat the foundation around my face first, with the brush, (obvs after swirling it around in my palm !!) and then I start to, very gently, buff it out ... and I can honestly say it works like utter MAGIC .. I LOVE this technique .. I have no idea why it works .. but it works beautifully. My personal fav foundations that I have been using it with are the Armani Luminous Silk, the new Fenty foundation, the Fenty Easedrop foundation stick, the Revolution Satin Silk (this one is GLORIOUS) and my Lisa Eldridge foundations (and the new tints) .. I have no idea why this works .. but it does!! LOVE IT
@@sballantine8127 Yes absolutely! I find skin prep to be so important with my dry skin. I also use SPF, but you need to find one that sits well under make-up and leave it 'soak-in' for about 10mins beforehand ... good luck with it!! Hope this works as well for you as it does for me!!
I'm sat here crying with laughter, you really are so funny as well as a good educator! Will certainly give this technique a go as I have a wedding in a couple of weeks.
Very much enjoyed seeing you with Dr Sam. Btw I watched this thinking - blimey Wayne's going for it with that brush - before remembering I was watching something else on a fast speed and had forgotten to slow it down 🤣. Emma x
I think a big part of this technique is the pressure of the brush against the skin. It can't be too hard, or too soft. It definitely takes practice. Love you Wayne🤍
I'm going to have a go but the pressure on my skin is what's prevented me from doing so before. I have loads of redness on my cheeks & nose, which gets aggravated with pressure. I have to wear heavier makeup to cover the redness as I get older, but it ends up looking horribly cakey. Do you have any tips? (Apart from get used to the redness!) 😊
Will you figure something like this out for us dry girls?? Please, you’d make us very grateful not having to use ANY powder. Have a beautiful weekend! ❤ from Washington state
Thank goodness I found you. No extra crap talking, straight to the point and making technical sense. I very much appreciate that. I am 49 and only started my makeup journey 2 years ago. Wish I found you sooner, instead of wasting time clickbait yakkers
Really? I'll have to look for her video, as she is mature-age but still oily skinned, like me. My concern is that buffing like that will rub off the primer that will keep it on my face.
Wayne, you are great as usual! I’m back for this comment as I’ve tried and it works so beautifully… the effect on my face is absolutely gorgeous, no more “wet” effect!!!!
Loved the tip & the rant. You crack me up, sounds just like one of my rants. And your tips are always straight to the point & really useful. Thanks Wayne x
I'm on the wrong side of 70, and what I would try is a non-greasy moisturizer first. If you're more comfortable with something a little oilier, and I probably fall into that category, why couldn't you do what we always do and finish off with a powder so we don't look shiny?
A lot of smart bulbs (using wifi) at lease turn on and off with regular switches, so if you’ve set it to off and then the internet dropped, use the manual switch to turn the lamp itself off and then on again. It should act as a sort of reset where the bulb is looking for the connection to tell it what to do, but is still going to be on. They just won’t change color. Not sure what brand you’re using, but I’ve gotten about four different brands on Amazon that operate in this way.
I can't wait to try this technique! Going to try it just as soon as this video is over. Thank you for the tip, Wayne. I have the wifi lights too. I have the Phillips Hue lights. They work on and off wifi.
Wayne soy de Argentina y mi inglés no es del todo bueno, pero te haces entender tan bien que de igual manera disfruto mucho de tus videos. Gracias por eso ❤
I wish I saw this before I took my shower lol. I love my dense brush. I have one that applies and blends liquids and powders like a dream. I really need to get more of them.
I am excited for sure. Love you always, take care and stay safe. Hope you are feeling much better. Relax don’t forget to take time for yourself. In Missouri it is crazy hot 96 today yuk. Love your technique ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much! I tried this technique and it worked great. Best part is I didn't feel overly caked up. Just nice coverage that still looked like me.
Love the technique! This gave me a MUCH more PERFECTED application for the Summer hot weather!! ❤ Also I will absolutely buy your new All-In-One Face brush when it comes out!! 😊 Loving the new white and Eyeshadow brushes!!
Love your tips, I was wondering if you could add a primer to the hand first them mix it with your foundation? Then add it to the face with a brush, then go over it with a beauty sponge in a tapping motion.
F4, last time called it F40, oops, your F4 is the best brush on market!! Had several for awhile now! Love it, plays well with anything! Thanx Wayne! 💙x😊
Great tip. Your videos are very informative. I love that you add some fun humor to your videos. I like your rants about WiFi or whatever; it shows you have a real live. Have a great day.
Thank you so much for a wonderful technique! I have severe melasma should I use this technique first then concealer for the dark spots? Greatly appreciated your input🙏
You know what works for me, when I do my skincare in the morning and my skin is still wetI put my tinted sunscreen on over it and it all dries down together and it looks good and yes I'm pretty dry.... But that's my technique.... You look gorge as always....
I do tend to get micro exfoliation if I’m too rough with my application technique but since it seems to work so well for you I will certainly give it a shot!
Buff, buff, buff - I am certain this technique would be great for our hot, steamy Chicago summer heat. Thanks for the tip, I am going to give this try ~ Hugs, Gale The Happy Stamper =) P.S. DO you happen to have a recommendation of an eyeliner for hooded eyes ?

Love this technique Wayne. I don't wear a lot of foundation in summer except maybe the Haus Labs and lean more towards a tinted moisturizer or sunscreen. They, too, can look heavy if not blended correctly. Even though my skin is fairy dry, I'm trying this tomorrow for a rainy day inside. Your tips and excellent Wayne

Wayne can you do this version/a version for dry skin. No matter how thick the moisturizer is, the foundation gives a textured application.
