No seriously, thanks Ubisoft for giving me the opportunity to try this for a video. I played it even more during a plane ride, got a decent amount of the way through and I can genuinely say that this game's got sauce. The intro's not a bit, I really like Metroidvanias and I really think this game is a solid addition to the genre.

So I played this game a bunch more on a plane ride (really happily surprised that the game ran at a mostly consistent 60 fps on handheld mode but that's a different story), but it's genuinely a metroidvania with sauce. I recommend it for sure.

@@sinteleonthat’s a stupid comparison. If you buy a book you will have access to its contents forever (or untill it breaks) same with physical releases of games. The reason people are mad (and rightfully so) is because Ubisoft wants to get rid of physical releases entirely.

You know, I’ve never really followed or been interested in the Prince of Persia series, but then someone slapped the Metroidvania genre on it and suddenly I’m pretty interested lmao
They're mostly pretty amazing, but most of them didn't resist the test of time. Warrior Within and original Sands of time feel terrible to play

Did not know Eevee was a Metroidvania fan. I’d have loved to see his first run of Metroid Dread.
I was pretty slow at content at the time, but if I was at the pace I’m currently at, I would’ve done a series for sure. Dread was a great game.
Best metroidvania is Warioland3 play dat game instead has a hotter protagonist
idk if it counts but on the topic of metroidvanias if you want one thats like Uber Garbage you should pick up barnyard blast: swine of the night. though metroidvanias arent my speed anyways so im kinda biased against it
downsides include: being DSi only, being somewhat unpolished, explaining literally nothing about how to beat bosses
upsides include: funny (both to play and some of the very small amount of dialogue) and has good music

Ender Lilies is fantastic. Finished that one quite a bit ago.
