1942 Farmall M Vintage Tractor Restoration | Andrew H. - 2023 Chevron TRC Entry

I did a complete restoration of the stuck M that had not run in at least 25 years. As part of disassembly, I wire brushed, cleaned, and primed all parts. I completely tore down the engine and replaced the cylinder sleeves, pistons, rings, and bearings. I put new valves in a new LP head. I also replaced the clutch disc and pressure plate. In the transmission I saw bearings spinning in the bores so they were replaced. Every gasket and seal on the tractor was replaced. I rebuilt the carburetor, water pump, brakes, distributor, generator, hydraulic pump, PTO, belt pulley gearbox, steering, drawbar, etc. I fabricated a cool stainless steel straight pipe exhaust. I rebuilt the unique wide front. The sheet metal was repaired with many hours of welding, grinding, filler, and sanding. I painted the tractor with a spray gun. Thank you to Chevron and Ocean State Oil for providing lubricants. I put four new tires on the M so it is looking good and already competed in its first stone boat pull.
